• minLength data validation is not working with Auth component for CakePHP

  Let's say I have a user registration and I'm using the Auth component (/user/register is allowed of course). The problem is if I need to set a minLength validation rule in the model, it doesn't work since the Auth component hashes the password therefore it's always more than my minlength password and it passes even if it's blank. How do I fix this issue? Thanks in advance!

  Although a static class has only one instance and can't be instantiated, a class with a private constructor can't be instantiated (as the constructor can't be seen), so every time you call this class, this is the same one instance? I am always confused about the term "subject", for example, sk option "Specifies the subject's key container location", sr option "Specifies the subject's certificate store location".   It's always seemed a little at odds with the principles of Java that the Java Servlet Spec (2.5 version here) includes a set of magic attributes containing info about included resources, namely: javax.servlet.include.request_uri javax.servlet.include.context_path javax.servlet.include.servlet_path javax.servlet.include.path_info javax.servlet.include.query_string It's not even specifically pointed out in the API documentation, only in the spec where it is a must for correct implementation. This approach feels very wrong, an exposed implementation detail that clients will use and depend on. Why is this information exposed in this way?

  Just installed the trial version of Visual Studio 2010 RTM. Now I keep getting : The name 'NoPanel' does not exist in the current context Errors (where no panel is just about any control in the .aspx file) also I got several errors trying to deploy pages and it would not send the .cs file over ...or pdfs in the Content directory (even though I had copy always set)... This is happening on a pair of mixed ASP.NET MVC and Webforms sites.

I have a detail section that has the list of all items followed by a column footer which has Totals, Tax etc., and then the return policy in the Summary section.
