• Suspend fails and I know the module causing it. What can I do?

  My suspend did not correctly since I installed a USB 3 extension card in my PC. Instead of going to S3, the computer just woke up instantly. dmesg gave the hint "usb_dev_suspend+0x0/0x20 returns -2" so I rmmod'ed the "xhci_hcd" module which did the trick. Is there a good way for me to work around this? The builds from the Kernel Mainline PPA did not help, unfortunately, and blacklisting the module is not my favorite option. Where is the best place for me to report this issue?

  It is almost and instantaneous whenever I talk to developers about Model View Controller (MVC) they say you make a request to a url the server builds a entity (MODEL) and provides you with visual representation of that model. So does this mean MVC is only for the web or have I been meeting people who are just developers who employ MVC for writing web applications? Are there usages for MVC on desktop style applications? • Is it possible to use mac trackpad gestures on a linux virtualbox? (macbook pro)

  Specifically, I would just love to use the trackpad to do "three finger swipes" and switch between workspaces, that would just be slick as hell. I imagine this might require a plugin or some such thing, in addition to the disabling of the underlying mac os's responding to the gestures, which is what it currently does. This might be impossible. PS/FYI: I am running ubuntu, but I imagine this might apply to debian builds as well.

  I'm starting to get into writing automated Acceptance tests and I'm quite confused where to write these tests against, specifically what layer in the app. Most examples I've seen are Acceptance tests written against the Domain but how about tests like: Given Incorrect Data When the user submits the form Then Play an Error Beep These seem to be fit for the UI and not for the Domain, or probably even the Service layer.

  I was thinking about hosting my private project on my server (i may use 'gitolite') and have a copy on my local machine as backup (git clone then automated git fetch every few minute). I want to know what happens if there is a bug gitolite or somewhere else on my server and the source code and git repository has been tampered with? Will my backup also be corrupted? will i easily be able to revert the source using the history?
