  • undeliverable email troubleshooting

    I am using IIS6 smtp to send emails out, some of these emails are coming back with the following error. Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified. Please retry or contact your administrator. What steps do I need to take to track done where the problem is? I currently believe the problem is either with my configuration or with the configuration of the mail server I am trying to send to. Thanks

  • Secure email crashes Outlook 2007

    I have a number of secure emails sent to my Outlook 2007 client. Most arrive fine and display the prompt with regards to granting access to the certificate and then open. Today I received two that crash Outlook whenever I try to open them. I've tried restarting Outlook and my computer but still have the same problem. Any ideas what might be causing this, and how I can fix it? I'm working on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

  • Postfix to deliver mail to a virtual address mailbox

    Postfix version 2.6.6, Dovecot Version 2.0.9 I want to setup Postfix + Dovecot. Dovecot seems to be working. I can authenticate. However, the mailbox is empty! Nothing will get delivered! I followed many tutorials on Postfix + Dovecot but they seem to want to complicate things by using Dovecot LDA or MySQL. I just want it to be very simple and having Postfix deliver to the virtual mail boxes are fine. I don't need MySQL either. I already set up a custom password file that Dovecot uses for authentication and I can login to POP3 with SSL. I can see from the logs that Postfix is delivering to the system user accounts (the catch-all), instead of the virtual users that I set up in Dovecot. The SMTP + SSL authentication seems to work also. I can also see from the logs that Dovecot is checking the correct virtual mail folder. I just need to figure out how to get Postfix to deliver to the virtual mail boxes. I have the following which I believe are relevant.     Warning: I'm a total *nix n00b. I need to get "catch-all" mail setup on OpenBSD. I'm just using the pre-installed mail service. Especially I want mail sent to `abc-123-def-geh@localhost' to redirect to 'user@localhost'. Is there a way using the pre-installed stuff or do I need some other software? If so: any suggestions on light-weight, easily configured software?

  • Outlook unable to print email

    I have an installation of Outlook 2003 that won't print emails as of this morning. It can print calendars, and every other program can print fine. Outlook won't print the emails to any printer, not even a PDF creator. As soon as you hit "Print" nothing happens, there's no notification that the print job was sent or anything. The print server never receives a request to print from the computer.

    I think I have the Netscape mail-directory from old computer, how do I copy it to new computer? (Netscape 7.1 Mail, Thunderbird or Seamonkey). I think I have the files in Olduserbackup\xjuwtwtb.slt\Mail I create a new mail account with server pop.superuser.com, and find a directory with that name in C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Profiles\default\ou6umlif.slt\Mail I replace the files with those from the backup, but Netscape still shows pop.superuser.com in its interface. Is there some kind of registry setting somewhere I will have to change?

    I'd like to mention that im really new to this so please bear with me. I'm trying to setup a forum software to send emails via postfix but I think my server has the port 25 blocked.   • Thunderbird 3.0.2 stops automatically checking for email

    Since upgrading to Thunderbird 3.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.6, Thunderbird will intermittently stop checking for messages automatically. Frequently I am presented with the error "This folder is being processed" when manually checking for mail. Restarting Thunderbird fixes the problem, but I have noticed hours can go by where auto checking isn't working, and restarting shows there were dozens of messages waiting to be delivered in that down time. Occasionally I will see "indexing 1 of 2 messages - 0% complete" in the status bar, it will sit there for a long time. Actions I've taken to fix: Deleted all .msf files in all accounts Removed News & Blogs account Staggered the "automatically check for mail" interval for each account Worth noting: after waking up the macbook, TB usually needs to be restarted to resume auto checking for mail. Has anyone experienced such trouble?

    I have set up a rule to forward incoming emails from Outlook to my Gmail account. The problem is that certain mails in which I'm a CC (about 1000/day monitoring system running status) are also forwarded to my Gmail and fill up my account very quickly. I have set up rules in Outlook to move those emails to a certain folder (called Monitored_Emails), but I don't know how to filter those emails so they don't forward to Gmail. How can I set this rule to forward all emails except those in a certain folder name?

  • Redirecting email from from domain registrar to hosting comapny mailbox

    I have the domain example.com registered with company A I have the hosting with company B (ServerGrove) Company A offers me simple parking, and company B offers me mailbox service. What I would like is to use the hosting company mail service. How do I configure the DNS records in company A to be forwarded to company B mailbox? I think I have to add a MX record to company A's configuration, and then the same in company B's DNS records, is this correct? I think I'm mixing concepts, and cannot see a clear solution, I've tried several configurations but all failed. Any help would be appreciated. Regards.

  • Cannot send email from EC2 instance on port 587

    I have written a mail service for our flask application that uses Celery and RabbitMQ to send emails (using gmail). I have got the celery consumer and producer communicating okay but I cannot get to send send emails. I am getting a socket.error: [Errno 101] Network is unreachable. I think this means that AWS is blocking port 587 - even though in my security group I opened both ports 587 and 25 (inbound and outbound). Any reason why this is happening? Any help will be highly appreciated.

    I run a simple server that I administrate remotely, and I need it to be able to send an email to my personal email address every time an error occurs. With the default setup on Ubuntu, sendmail just accumulates emails in /var/spool/mail that are to be sent locally, but I need it to go to an external email. The tutorials I've found all talk about setting up postfix/sendmail as a full-fledged email server, but I just need outgoing only, no external logins. Is there an easy way to do this?

  • Global Email Forwarding with EXIM?

    Been trying to find a solution to this for a while without success so here i go : I was given the task to build a High-Availability Load-Balanced Network Cluster for our 2 linux servers. I did some workaround and managed to get a DNS + SQL + Web Folders + Mails synchronisation going between both. Now i would like my server 2 to only do mailing and server 1 to only do web hosting. I transfered all the accounts for 1 to 2 using the WHM built-in account transfert feature. I created 2 different rsync jobs that sync, update, and delete the files for mail and websites. Now i was able to successfully transfer 1 mail accounts from 1 to 2, and the server 2 works flawlessly. All i had to do was change the MX entries to point to the new server and bingo. Now my problem is, some clients have their mail softwares configured so that they point to oldserver.domain.com. I cant make the (A) entry of oldserver.domain.com point to the new server for obvious reasons. I thought of using .foward files and add them to the home directories of the concerned users but that would be very difficult. So my question is : Is there a way to configure exim so that it will only foward mails to the new server? I need to change all the users so they use their mail on server 2 without them doing anything. Thanks! EDIT : TO CLARIFY MY PROBLEM Some clients have their mail point to oldserver.xyz instead of mail.olderserver.xyz I want to know if i can do something to prevent modifying the clients configuration I would also like to know is there is a way to find out what clients aren't properly configured

  • Setup non-MS email (gmail) in Windows 8 Mail app

    All documentation I have found online seems to apply to an older or different version of Windows 8. I am using the 90 evaluation copy of Windows 8 Enterprise (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/jj554510.aspx). Is it disabled because it is enterprise edition? Basically, I can start the mail app, bring up the settings (windows+i), but all I am given for options are Permissions and Rate and Review. In other documentation I've seen this is where you add an account. Is this possible? If this is a restriction to Windows 8 Enterprise, is there a trial version of normal Home editions somewhere?

  • I want to host clients' websites, but not their email. What's the easiest way to handle this?

    My company lets non-technical users build their own niche industry websites on our server, which we host. they can currently point their nameservers at their registrar to us, which ends up with them no longer having access to their email if they've already set it up through said registrar. We don't want to interfere with their existing email, nor do we want to get into the business of setting up email for them through our service. Thus, having them point A records/cname to us would work, but is this too complex for a non-technie user? We thought of having them point nameservers to us but pointing the MX records back to them, but this is also beyond their scope. Is there an easy way to 'point records' at their initial state? Any other ideas/feedback?

The form I am creating is rather large so I have created a small test form for the purpose of this question. The email will send and the attachment will exist on the email, but the image is corrupt or something as it is not viewable. Also.. I do not want to save the image to the filesystem.     I've gone through the guide for mailman with some difficulty, but seem to be nearly there. I'm able to navigate to the mailman web GUI, create lists and subscribe. I just subscribe my local FQDN, so [email protected] for testing purposes. This FQDN only works on localhost.
