• How to discover getters and setters on hibernate objects

  I need to find a way of taking a hibernate object and discovering at runtime all of the getter methods that relate to persistable fields. I'm using annotations in the classes but have previously had difficulties working with them (I ran into a 2 year old bug the java developers still haven't fixed). Does anyone know how I can do this please, ideally without using annotations? Thanks. PS - What I'm trying to do here is to update a new object with values from an existing object dynamically.

  Using Hibernate, what is the most efficient way to determine if a table is empty or non-empty? In other words, does the table have 0, or more than 0 rows? I could execute the HQL query select count(*) from tablename and then check if result is 0 or non-0, but this isn't optimal as I would be asking the database for more detail than I really need.

• Why is Google Webmaster Tools crawling invalid URLS and showing 500 errors?

  Google Webmaster tools is reporting 12k+ 500 errors. Eeek! None of the URLS are valid- they all contain www.youtube.com. First, why is Google crawling these URLS if they don't exist? I supplied a sitemap, and they are of course not in the sitemap. I don't have a robots.txt blocking anything. I've checked for invalid redirects--none, and checked for unclosed tags or something that would throw www.youtube.com into the URL by accident--none. In every 'linked from', the referring URL is also a bad URL, with www.youtube.com in it. The Google Tools report no malware, and I can't check the server logs because the host won't give me access. Really stuck!! Any ideas appreciated!

  Hi, I've just got an Dell Precision M6500 that comes with an nVidia card. Together with Kubunutu 10.10 and the proprietary nvidia driver suspend to disk or RAM does not work. It's allways ending with a running system and a locked screen (i.e. I can just enter my password and everything is as before - it's never sleeping) Can someone please help me to debug this issue?   We are 3 persons trying to build a large website which will be available in 3 languges. However, we will start with one language and with small idea then we are going to improve it and make it larger! What do you think the best tools and language that we should use? We are caring alot about the speed of loading the pages and tools that provide excellent qulaity with cheaper fees. Edit: We are graphic designers, so we did not choose the programming language yet. But we studied computer science and we have an idea but we found that this is the best place to ask the question and expect the right answer from you. Should we use ASP.NET for example? or PHP? • Why would urls submitted in google webmaster tools drop to 0?

  Why would urls submitted in google webmaster tools drop to 0? It's a small site, only like 20 pages, I submitted the xml sitemap and for about a week it said 20 urls submitted. A day or so ago it indexed about 17 of the pages, but today when looking it not only says that 0 are indexed but also 0 have been submitted. I did a site search on google and found clearly that pages are indexed, is this just an error on google webmaster tools? Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

• Adding JBoss repository to m2eclipse, no latest Hibernate version

  I'm trying to add JBoss repository to m2eclipse, mainly for Hibernate. It seems to work, but it can't find the latest version of Hibernate (3.5.1), only 3.5.0beta. I looked at some other packages, and they all seem a couple of months behind. What could be causing this? I'm running latest m2eclipse, and i guess latest Eclipse (it just says 20100218-1602, eclipse people think it's funny to not include version in the about dialog), on ubuntu 9.10. • Tomcat/Hibernate Problem "SEVERE: Error listenerStart"

  I downloaded working example of hibernate (with maven) and installed it on my tomcat, it worked. Then I created a new web project in MyEclipse, added hibernate support and moved all source files (no jar) to this new project and fixed package/paths wherever was necessary. My servlets are responding correctly but when I add "Listener" in web.xml, tomcat returns error "Error ListenerStart" on startup and my application doesn't start. I've carefully checked all packages, paths and classes, they look good.
