  • where has sun mysql database manager gone???

    If I recall correctly, there where at least to desktop programas from sun which were very useful for handling mysql databases... Now, all I can find is some mysql workbench which is only useful for designing data... Both programs I'm talking about allowed you to manage servers, create database, create tables, index, perform querys, edit data, etc... unfortunately I don't even recall there names... Any idea where I can find them? thanks a lot

    I was wondering what language to use when talking about a function that takes in a specific object, acts on it and returns something else. Clearly they're functions, but I was wondering if there's a more specific term. A couple examples of Python built-in functions that fit this spec are: 'len', 'dir', 'vars' I thought it was 'predicate', but apparently that's specific to functions that return a boolean value.

  • How can I translate Linux keycodes from /dev/input/event* to ASCII in Perl?

    I'm writing a Perl script that reads data from the infamous /dev/input/event* and I didn't find a way to translate the key codes generated by the kernel into ASCII. I'm talking about the linux key codes in this table here and I can't seem to find something that would help me translate them without hardcoding an array into the script. Am I missing something? I'd like to skip the array part because it doesn't seem to be a good practice, so any idea? :)

    I am talking about rails resource_controller gem plugin here: Basically when I am doing json format, I would like to completely suppress the flash notice if possible, trying to call flash "" will fail, while calling flash[:notice]="" doesn't look really nice either.     So I have been programming in C++ with Eclipse and have the habit of hitting enter to skip parentheses (anyone who has ever used eclipse probably knows what I am talking about). I have recently started learning Java and decided to use NetBeans, mostly due to the much more simple interface. However, I would like to know if there a way to skip the (), [], < and "" on enter just like what happens in Eclipse in NetBeans. Thanks.

That means, the service requester is blocking after sending a message to the service. my question is: is it related to the -a -s parameter of wsdl2java tool, Since -a generate async style code and -s generate sync style code.   • Deploy with rsync(or svn, git, cvs) and ignore inconsistent state during deployment?

    We are currently talking about deploying a website via rsync. However, during rsyncing the application is left in an inconsistent state, as some files may already be synced while others still are left with the old version right? How do people deal with this issue? I guess the same problem exists when deploying via svn/git/cvs. Should I just close the site, rsync, and open up again? Or do people simply ignore this inconsistency problem?
