    Most of the sites capture the date (e.g. birth date) information as either a single entity (i.e via a calendar control) or instead as separate fields (date, month, year). Are there any benefits in showing them as separate fields? Are they represented in the database as DATE data type or as separate fields. I am just trying to understand the pros & cons of representing the date field.

    I am totally lost with the things that is happening with my code.It make me to think & get clear with Array's thread Safe concept. Is NSMutableArray OR NSMutableDictionary Thread Safe ? While my code is under execution, the values for the MainArray get's changes although, that has been added to Array. Every time there are 9 records in Array, it just replaces the whole Array value instead of just for specific key Value.

    As I get closer to releasing my first public iPhone app I'm concerned about catching crashes in the field. I'm curious to hear how others have gone about this. I'm not sure what's possible outside of the debugger. Is all lost with an EXC_BAD_ACCESS or can I still catch it and get something useful into a log? Is the program main() the spot to put a @try/@catch?

  • python distutils does not include data_files

    I am new to distutils.. I am trying to include few data files along with the package.. here is my code.. from distutils.core import setup setup(name='Scrapper', version='1.0', description='Scrapper', packages=['app', 'db', 'model', 'util'], data_files=[('app', ['app/scrapper.db'])] ) The zip file created after executing python setup.py sdist does not include the scrapper.db file. I have scrapper.db file in the app directory.. thanks for the help.

    Can anybody tell me how to persist long text using JPA (I use PostgreSQL)? Here's the way I defined a very long string in my class: @Lob private String body; However, this produces a field of type charactervarying(255) in the database. Furthermore, I've tried to use @Column annotation: @Column(columnDefinition="TEXT") private String body; But everything in vain. I would be gratefull for a helpfull comment on this problem.

I want to add functionality so that when the user types in the username field, an ajax call is triggered to check whether the username is already taken. My requirements are: Preferably integrate with JQuery Validation plugin, rather than writing a custom function I want the lookup to occur on the nkeyup event I want the lookup to be triggered approx 0.5 seconds after the keyup event has occurred.     Hello, i have a bit of asp.net code that exports data in a datagrid into excel but i noticed that it messes up a particular field when exporting. eg .. i have the value of something like 89234010000725515875 in a column in the datagrid but when exported, it turns it into 89234+19. Is there any excel formatting that will bring back my original number? thanks

I'm developing an occasionally connected application that will run on a tablet for clinicians or field service workers but I'm struggling with what this type of computing is referred to. Mobile computing as connotations of a phone app. Whereas our clients may be occasionally at their desk. Microsoft uses Smart Client a lot, but I'm not sure if that best describes this scenario or is the common term for this kind of computing.

  • Search for -1 in Solr

    Hi! I have an optional property of type pfloat, that can either be an encoded numeric value, or -1 if the property is not set. Numerics are encoded to be range searchable (1 is encoded to something like 10000000001), but -1 will always be -1. How can I search a field for -1? property:-1 throws parse error and property:'-1' doesn't return anything. Thanks for help!

  • Make a Button Appear Focused When Not

    The Find and Replace dialog in Visual Studio is a perfect example of what im trying to accomplish. Notice how the "Find what" text field has keyboard focus but the "Find Next" button appears bluish as if it has keyboard focus also even though it does not. How can I accomplish this myself? I've tried messing with FocusManager and Focus Scopes without much luck. I suspect i may be barking up the wrong tree? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

    When I try to write a field that includes whitespace in it, it gets split into multiple fields on the space. What's causing this? It's driving me insane.     Hello, I have a Category, a Subcategory and a Product model. I have: Category has_many Subcategories Subcategory has_many Products Subcategory belongs_to Category Product belongs_to Subcategory Is there a way to have something like Category has_many Projects through Subcategories ? The 'normal' rails way wouldn't work because "subcategory" doesn't belongs to product so product does not have a subcategory_id field. Instead, I need the query to be something like SELECT * FROM products WHERE id IN category.subcategory_ids Is there a way to do that? Thanks, Nicolás Hock Isaza

    Hello, is it possible to decorate a field of a LINQ generated class with [Column(IsDbGenerated=true)] using a buddy class (which is linked to the LINQ class via [MetadataType(typeof(BuddyMetadata))]) ? My goal is to be able to clear and repopulate the LINQ ORM designer without having to set the "Auto Generate Value" property manually every time to re-establish the fact that certain columns are autogenerated.
