• Zend Framework-does every webpage have it's own controller and indexAction and view?

  I'm wanting to be sure that I am setting things up correctly. On a typical website with 10 pages, would each page have it's own controller with it's own IndexAction and it's own View folder with it's own index.phtml as a view? Or do you have one controller with multiple Page1Action, Page2Action, etc and have multiple differently named view.phtml pages within view/index folder? I'm leaning toward the former because then I can have a cleaner controller for each page... Is there a standard, or is it subjective?

• JPA generic field

  Hallo all Is it possible to persist a generic field? I have this property on an Entity class ... private T payload; ... T extends EventMessagePayload and public interface StringPayload extends EventMessagePayload{ String getPayload(); } In my application i persist the field only when is of String type and during the save operation all works great. When I read the object instead JPA try to create a String object but instead is a StringPaylod. Is there a way to intercept the creation and handle the object marshalling? Kind regards Massimo

  I am basically trying to write this information from my dictionary to this file. I have this dictionary named files = {} and it is for a filing system I am making. Anyhow it is always being update with new items, and I want those items to be uploaded to the file. Then if you exit the program the files are loaded back to the dictionary files = {}. Here is the code I have so far: file = {} for i in files: g = open(i, 'r') g.read(i) g.close() EDIT I want the contents of the dictionary to be written to a file. The items inside the dictionary are all stored like this: files[filename] = {filedate:filetext} where filename is the file's name, filedate is the date that the file was made on, and the filetext is the files contents.

  This is FIrst time i try to create Cocoa Touch Static Library and follow these steps. Create New Project with Cocoa Touch Static Library named it By default i got single class with Demo.h and Demo.m. 2.Create a public function in .h and implement it in .m. 3.Select iOS Device and press cmd + B. 4.Copy Demo.a from products and the .h file drop it in my iOS App where i want to use it. 5.Then Import Demo.h and try to call the function that i wrote. • Jython project in Eclipse can't find the xml module, but works in an identical project

  I have two projects in Eclipse with Java and Python code, using Jython. Also I'm using PyDev. One project can import and use the xml module just fine, and the other gives the error ImportError: No module named xml. As far as I can tell, all the project properties are set identically. The working project was created from scratch and the other comes from code checked out of an svn repository and put into a new project. What could be the difference? edit- Same for os, btw. It's just missing some path somewhere...

• Need help with some complex SQL query

  Hello guys, I need some help with a complex SQL query. Here's my setup: there are two tables, one with authors, and another with books. The books table contains a field named "author" which holds author's id. If a book has more than one author, then the "author" field will contain all the authors ids separated by ";" (something like 2;34;234). On the website I have to list all the books written by an author. If there's only one author, its simple, but how can I get those books where the author I'm interested in is the second or third author? Many thanks.

• sql connection problem only from another computer

  I have a task that runs nightly. It connects to a sql server on our network and when I run it from my machine it runs fine. When it runs from the other computer I get the following error. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) I've checked with our systems admin and he said nothing has changed on the sql box or on the box in question so I'm not sure why it runs fine from one and not the other. From what I've read about this error it sounds like it's a setting on the sql server that would disallow it to run on either box.

  I'm studying ASP.NET MVC and I use LINQ to SQL for model. I have a table named "Note" with the fields "Title" and "Content". The "Content" field can contain thousand characters. What I want to do is to display the LIST of notes in a page. I use table with two columns, for "Title" and SUBSTRING of the "Content" (50 characters). My problem is, I don't know how to edit the model so that it will display only the substring of the "Content". Thanks in advance!

• Need advice on multitab form in ASP.NET MVC

  Hi all, i need an advice on how to implement my form. I have a requirement: i need a form that spans through 5 tabs. Each tab has around 10 fields, some of them empty, some of them must contain data from db and be non editable. Each of these tabs must be a part of one form that is submitted to my controller. The question is: what is the best way to implement this? I was thinking about having partial views on each tab, each view would have its own model class. After form gets filled all data from all partials would go to action that will take care of all of it. Any advices? I am using ASP.NET MVC 1, Entity Framework 1, mvc extensions from Telerik and jQuery

I need the syntax that selects records created within the last hour. thought it would be: and DATEDIFF("hh", datePart(hh, myTime), DatePart(hh, GETDATE()) < 1 where datediff 1) looks for hours; 2) looks at the hours portion of the data in myTime as starting; 3) looks at the hours portion of now for ending 3) produces an int that gets compared to '1' the results i'm getting are clearly way, way off base cuz umm...clearly...i don't know what i'm doing. help? thx

• ActiveRecord find all parents that have associated children

  I don't know why I can't figure this out, I think it should be fairly simple. I have two models (see below). I'm trying to come up with a named scope for SupplierCategory that would find all SupplierCategory(s) (including :suppliers) who's associated Supplier(s) are not empty. I tried a straight up join, named_scope :with_suppliers, :joins => :suppliers which gives me only categories with suppliers, but it gives me each category listed separately, so if a category has 2 suppliers, i get the category twice in the returned array: Currently I'm using: named_scope :with_suppliers, :include => :suppliers and then in my view I'm using: <%= render :partial => 'category', :collection => @categories.find_all{|c| !c.suppliers.empty? } %> Not exactly eloquent but illustrates what I'm trying to achieve. Steps: Clear cache tables (Site Configuration Performance Clear Cached Data button) on localhost Export db and then import on live server Move files/folders to live server Edit settings.php to reflect live server config everything is working great until I make Clear Cached Data on Server. than my custom theme, custom front page, etc... all mess up :( What can be the problem? I appreciate helps so much!! Thanks! !!SORTED!! I used a subtheme for Zen, named mgf . then I had taken a back-up as mgf- somehow after I make Clear Cached Data, Drupal links to this mgf- which is old and doesnt have latest stylings. I just removed this folder from themes, and it linked to the right-latest mgf.

Now at a first time only link button and horizontal will be visible, and textboxes which is bellowed to link button will not be visible. Now if user will click on the link button then textboxes which is bellowed to link button will be visible. Then horizontal line which is at the first time bellowed to the link button should be adjust to its location and should go after textboxes. And if user clicks to link button again then textboxes should be visible false. And horizontal line should be displayed its original position that is bellowed to the link button. Of course I am able to do with visibility of textboxes but I can not understand how to change the position of the horizontal line dynamically?

• Can't add an object using EF and SQL Compact

  Hello, I have some very simple SQL Compact database. I would like to use Entity Framework to access the database but for some reason I can't add an object to this database using EF. Here is the code using (pos_inglotEntities posInglotCtx = new pos_inglotEntities()) { posInglotCtx.Connection.Open(); CT_POS_OITM item = new CT_POS_OITM() { ItemCode = "123", ItemName="abc"}; try { posInglotCtx.AddToCT_POS_OITM(item); posInglotCtx.SaveChanges(); } catch (Exception e) { } posInglotCtx.Connection.Close(); } After running this code my database is still empty although if I run it once again I get "duplicate values" exception. But again database is empty. I created this db using PrimeWorks conversion tool from standard sql server database. What is going on? Thanks in advance

  Arrrg!I am running into what i feel is a dumb issue with a simple script i'm writing in powershell. I am invoking a sql command that is calling a stored proc, with the results i put it a array. Does a variable give a name to an object, i.e. are variables just a naming mechanism for otherwise anonymous objects? Or is a variable the name itself? Or is a variable a named object in the sense that every variable is also an object? Or is a variable just a "proxy" with a name that "delegates" all operations to the real object? To confuse things further, many C++ books seem to treat variables and objects as synonyms. What is your take on this?

  I'm often confused by this. I've always been taught to name numbers I use often using variables or constants, but if it reduces the efficiency of the program, should I still do it? I'm using cygwin and when this line is commented out the printf's ABOVE this print to console but when include this, nothing happens. • Read file structure into an array, but only specific files.

  I have a directory structure that looks like this: /expandables - folder - folder - folder - folder - BannerInfo.txt - index.html Each one of the folder has the same exact stucture. One file named BannerInfo.txt and index.html. There are about 250 of these folders if that matters. I want to loop through these folders and store each of the index.html files into an array. Inside of the index.html file is just some simple HTML and Javascript of which I want to read into a string to be displayed later on. I'm struggling with how to filter out only the index.html file from the individual folders. The purpose of this is because I want to randomly select an index.html file and put the contents into a textarea. I thought I could do a simple array_rand() on the returned array and spit out the string. Any ideas?
