Navigating sharepoint with a treeview

I'm trying to replace the navigation on our sharepoint site with a treeview. It's a large site with up to 4 subsite leves in places. All I need it to do is show a consistent structure from page to page show only sites and pages The default sharepoint treeview seems to do neither of these things (doesn't display items from the parent site, includes document libraries but not pages). Does anyone have any idea how to achieve this? We're using the publishing site template throughout if that makes a difference. I've tried binding the tree to the datasource the quick launch uses but I guess from the error message they expect differently named properties.

Hi guys. I'm looking to create an options table in my db that makes every record a system option, so i can work with a little number of fields. my db has the following structure: 3 columns named id, name, and value following data is inserted as an example -- id - name - value 1 - uri - www.example.com 2 - sitename - Working it out 3 - base_folder - /folder1/folder2/ 4 - slogan - Just a slogan for the site -- that way i can include a large number of customizable system options very easily the problem is that i don't know how to retrieve them how do i get the value of uri and store it as a var? and better yet, how do i get, for exmaple, values of id 1 and 4 only without making a query each time? (i assume multiple queries are useless and a pretty ugly method) i know the question is pretty basic but i'm lost here. i'd really appreciate your answer! Thanks in advance

Hello, Say i have List<SomeObject> objList = new ArrayList<SomeObject>(); If someObject contains a field named id. Can we find it through some query like objList.filter('id=2'); wihout looping through the list? If not, then why? This can be so useful method and used as an alternative to write tedious for loop? Hi, I have an interface named IHarvester. There are 3 implementations of that interface, each under their own namespace: Google Yahoo Bing A HarvesterManager uses the given harvester. It knows the interface and all 3 implementations. I want some way of letting the class user say in which harvester it wants to use. And in the code select that implementation, without a switch-case implementation. Can reflection save my day? I am working on an MVC 5 App that pulls data from Dynamics CRM 5. The Data I am getting back is an IQueryable of type Account (The CRM Entity class auto generated by CrmSvcUtil). I am retrieving all of the items and can loop through them with code like this: @foreach (var item in Model.ToList()) { <tr> <td> @item.AccountId </td> <td> @Html.DisplayFor(modelItem => item.Name) </td> </tr> } The problem is, I would like to instead put them in a drop down list. I can't figure out what the syntax is to put these in a DropDown is. Any suggestions?

DDD: MailService.SendNotificationToUser() or User.Notify()?

I seem to stumble on problem after problem giving my entities behavior. I have a system where a user gets a notification when someone comments his article. Right now it is via an e-mail. I'm struggeling how to implement this the DDD way. Option 1 User entity has a Notify method: User.Notify() The method uses C# built in classes to send an e-mail notification via e-mail The problem with having this in the domain is that it is technology spesific, and how a user is notified might change in the future. I feel this belongs to infrastructure, but how then can a user have behavior? Option 2 I create a Service: NotificationService.Notify(User) The Service uses C# built in classes to send an e-mail The pro is that the service could be an Application Service, and as far as I know an application service can use the infrastructure and call things like the System.Net.Mail and repositories for that sake. How would you implement this?

Make array from $_POST values

Let's start telling that I'm passing an x amount of variables via post from a form. Let's name them menu_category_1, menu_category_2, ..., menu_category_x, plus, maybe, menu_category_new (I'm using an if empty to check this last one variable). To make things easier I'm also sending the parameter $key (amount of variables starting from 0). Now I need to set them into a new variable $menu_category (array), which is going to be imploded and then update my database. How do I set up that new $menu_category variable to be an array containing all my variables named in the beginning? I was thinking of using a for loop but I can't come up with something useful. Hello. Does anyone know how I can get the value of an imput box, without having a form? I want a sumbit button, but instead of submiting a form, I want it to change data in a MySQL database. Something like this maybe? $img1="WHAT DO I PUT HERE?" $idx=1 $sql="INSERT INTO games SET img1='$img1' WHERE id=$idx"; $result=mysql_query($sql); Could I use that code on a "onclick" event? I have the following query that works well. SELECT DISTINCT city,region1,region2 from static_geo_world where country='AU' AND (city LIKE '%geel%' OR region1 LIKE '%geel%' OR region2 LIKE '%geel%' OR region3 LIKE '%geel%' OR zip LIKE 'geel%') ORDER BY city; I need to also extract a column named 'id' but this messes up the DISTINCT as each ID is different. How can I get the same UNIQUE set of records as above but also get the 'id' for each record? Note: sometimes I can return a few thousand records so a query for each record isn't possible. Any ideas would be very welcome...

Hi, I know, there is a lot of info on mysql out there. But I was not really able to find an answer to this specific and actually simple question: Let's say I have two tables: USERS (with many fields, e.g. name, street, email, etc.) and GROUPS (also with many fields) The relation is (I guess?) 1:n, that is ONE user can be a member of MANY groups. What I dis, is create another table, named USERS_GROUPS_REL. This table has only two fields: us_id (unique key of table USERS) and gr_id (unique key of table GROUPS) In PHP I do a query with join. Is this "best practice" or is there a better way? Thankful for any hint!

Also define a constructor that takes an integer parameter and initialises the deck field with an array of that size. The constructor should also initialise every element with a new random MovieCard. What to do with "Default Web Site" on a Japanese OS? (E.G: ??? Web ???)

I'm currently in the process of upgrading old II6 automation scripts that use the iisvdir tool to create/modify/update apps and virtual directories. The IIS6 "iisvdir" commands reference paths in IIS6 that are from the metabase, eg, "/W3SVC/1/ROOT/MyApp" - where 1 is the "Default" website. The command doesn't actually require the display name of the site to make changes to it. With an English OS, the "Default Web Site" site name is fine for usage in AppCmd, but if the OS is Japanese, it will be named: "??? Web ???" So how can I script AppCmd to refer to sites, vdirs and apps using language neutral identifiers to reference the "Default App Site"? (Disclosure: I only have a IIS7-English machine that I am working on currently, but I have both IIS6-English and IIS6-Japanese machines for testing my old scripts - so perhaps it really is just "Default Web Site" still on Win2k8-Japanese?)

However, my deployment (default Ubuntu install) uses a policy.d/ directory structure, and the established server just uses a catalina.policy file. High Server Load cannot figure out why

My server is currently running CentOS 5.2, with WHM 11.34. Currently, we're at 6.43 to 12 for a load average. The sites that we're hosting are taking a lot time to respond and resolve. top doesn't show anything out of the ordinary and iftop doesn't show a lot of traffic. Tomcat IIS 7 Integration gives 503 errors on all requests.

Hi, After many attempts to install Tomcat on IIS 7, I finally managed to get it working. At least I think so :-S. I finally got the 500 errors away, by setting the correct permissions. The only thing that doesn't work is ... serving stuff: neither regular stuff (like ASP, HTML files, or directory browsing) or Tomcat things work.
