• Macports 1.8.2 fails to build db46 on os x 1.6.3

  I created a controller and a model. The controller is called "Admin" and the model is called "Album". I edited database.yml with proper info and did the rake db:migrate command which didn't return any errors and did migrate the db inside schema.rb. Now when I come to my VPS I cannot overcome the step: $ java -jar start.jar Afer running that command, search service is available at http: //x.x.x.x:8983/solr/select . But, Whenever I close the SSH client, the service on http: //x.x.x.x:8983/solr/select is also closed. So I can't search any more. What should I do? Thanks for any help.

  I need to export multiple data tables to Excel on the clients machine, each to their own sheet. If it was just one sheet, I'd use the Excel/csv content type, but I've heard something about an XML format that can represent an entire workbook. I don't want to go down the Packaging and .xlsx route, so I need standard .xls. Our bug tracker, Gemini, used to have an export function that produced an XML file that Excel automatically opened as a multi-sheet workbook, but I can't find it. Is there still such a mechanism, and where can I find that schema?

  i have noticed that every area has some tools you can use to make things easier. eg. css = dreamweaver doctrine/propel = orm designer // you dont have to hardcore code schemas manually and remembering all the syntax/variables mysql = mysql workbench // the same etc. in this way you get aided and dont have to type things the hard way, and can learn the structure, but then use GUI tools to help you develop faster. now i'm learning design patterns (singleton, factory, command, memento etc) and im wondering if there are some kind of tools you can use that will help you develop faster. i dont know exactly what tools i'm trying to find, just helping me when coding with design patterns (schema drawings? references?) are there any?

• How can I stop Flash from changing indent when user Clicks on hyperlink in TextField?

  I have a TextField which I initialize by setting htmlText. The text has anchor tags (hyperlinks). When a user clicks on the hyperlink, the indentation of the second and subsequent lines in the paragraph changes. Why? How do I stop it? My html has an image at the beginning of the line, followed by the tag, followed by more text.   This is not real, it's just a project i'm working on I've created a Hotel Management system in C# WindowsForm, it allows staff members to Add/Edit/Update Rooms,Reservation and Customers etc. Along side this Windows-form i'm creating an ASP.net WebSite where customers should be able to register and reserve rooms online. I've come to the point where i need to create some-type of membership method for this website which should correspond to the membership of the windows form. However i'm not sure what method of membership would be best suited for this, i have looked into the asp.net membership, it's what i want however it creates it's own schema and i don't know how i can relate the information to my customers table and c#windows form. I would ideally like it to resemble a real-life situation as much as possible anyway, am i going about this the wrong way? in terms of the c# windows-form what other technology would a business use to manage a system like this where they can add/edit/update there system and have a website which relates. What are my options here?

Most links I read starting at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_Identification_System) say that AIS data is freely available but I'm having a hard time finding a provider of the data. A C# example or language agnostic web service would be helpful.
