  • APE engine Mysql push data to channel on insert

    Hello, i am working with APE Engine (http://www.ape-project.org) and up until now i had no actual problem. The problem is that i would like to use the MySQL module and push data to a channel each time a row is inserted into a table. I've tried to setup a server side module, i created an SQL query but data is fetched only when the server boots. How can i make this work?

    Hi there, I have a schema.yml containing something similiar to the following: Character: tableName: characters actAs: { Timestampable: ~ } columns: id: { type: integer(4), primary: true, autoincrement: true } name: { type: string(255), notnull: true, notblank: true, minlength: 3 } I define the minlength of the column name to be 3. I created a unit test to test the minlength validation, and I found out that the validation is not working. $character = new Character(); $character->set('name', 'Dw'); $t->ok(! $character->isValid()); # This test failed Can someone tell me what might be the problem here?   • Finding changes in MongoDB database

    I'm designing a MongoDB database that works with a script that periodically polls a resource and gets back a response which is stored in the database. Right now my database has one collection with four fields , id, name, timestamp and data. I need to be able to find out which names had changes in the data field between script runs, and which did not. In pseudocode, if(data[name][timestamp]==data[name][timestamp+1]) //data has not changed store data in collection 1 else //data has changed between script runs for this name store data in collection 2 Is there a query that can do this without iterating and running javascript over each item in the collection? There are millions of documents, so this would be pretty slow. Should I create a new collection named timestamp for every time the script runs? Would that make it faster/more organized? Is there a better schema that could be used? The script runs once a day so I won't run into a namespace limitation any time soon.

    I'm having trouble roating an image around itself using Canvas. Since you can't rotate an image you have to rotate the canvas: if I rotate the canvas by a degree the origin around which I want to rotate changes. I don't get how to track this change. I am trying to use this one http://kin.klever.net/libopkele/requirements but it stops the configure with this message: checking for OPENSSL... configure: error: no openssl library found. get one from http://www.openssl.org/ but my debian has openssl installed and libssl-dev libssl installed... any help please?     Hi, I'm running through the Ruby on Rails tutorial at http://guides.rubyonrails.org/getting_started.html (adjusting where appropriate for Google's App Engine). All is well up till section 6.3: when I try to click "New Post", I get the following error: Internal Server Error (500) Request Method: GET Request URL: http://localhost:8080/500.html access denied (java.io.FilePermission /dev/urandom read) It works fine when I upload the application to Google's App Engine; it's just on my development machine (OS X 10.6) that it doesn't work.   • json specifies "any UNICODE character"?

    Maybe this is just my unfamiliarity with unicode, so please correct me if I'm mistaken. Looking at http://json.org/, the spec says that a string can include "any UNICODE character", but this confuses me. JSON is a communication format correct? At the core of it, everything must translate down to bytes. In contrast, UNICODE is a logical format and must be encoded to be able to transmit it, right? So what did they mean there?

  • Using jQuery to disable CSS inheritance

    Is there a way to use jQuery (or generic javascript) to disable CSS inheritance on a block level? For example, if I am pulling in an external resource via javascript, say pastie.org, they will have their own CSS that my CSS overrides. I would like to place the embed code into its own container that has CSS inheritance disabled. This is not my own CSS structure, so I can't rename IDs Classes or inline anything to make it work, the holy grail of inheritance blocking is my last resort.
