  • Problem opening Solr *.jsp pages with urllib2.urlopen.

    I'm trying to open a page at http://localhost:8983/solr/admin/stats.jsp but urllib2.urlopen returns a blank string.   • Refining Solr searches, getting exact matches?

    Afternoon chaps, Right, I'm constructing a fairly complex (to me anyway) search system for a website using Solr, although this question is quite simple I think... I have two search criteria, location and type. I want to return results that are exact matches to type (letter to letter, no exceptions), and like location. My current search query is as follows ../select/?q=location:N1 type:blue&rows=100&fl=*,score&debugQuery=true This firstly returns all the type blue's that match N1, but then returns any type that matches N1, which is opposite to what I'm after. Both fields are set as textgen in the Solr schema. Any pointers? Cheers gang

    I have serious trouble finding anything useful in Mongo documentation about dealing with embedded documents. Let's say I have a following schema: { _id: ObjectId, ... data: [ { _childId: ObjectId // let's use custom name so we can distinguish them ... } ] } What's the most efficient way to remove everything inside data for particular _id? What's the most efficient way to remove embedded document with particular _childId inside given _id? What's the performance here, can _childId be indexed in order to achieve logarithmic (or similar) complexity instead of linear lookup? If so, how? What's the most efficient way to insert a lot of (let's say a 1000) documents into data for given _id? And like above, can we get O(n log n) or similar complexity with proper indexing? What's the most efficient way to get the count of documents inside data for given _id?

    Hello, I have a problem with jQuery Validator. I want to use "required" property on a text input. It doesn't work when input has set value attribute by HTML code (tested on Firefox (3.5), and on IE 8 - on IE it works a bit better). Story: 1. Page loads; 2. value is cleared; 3. focus is changed. 4. Nothing happens but the error message should be displayed; 5. getting back to the field and typing some characters. 6. changing focus; 7. getting back to the field; 8. clearing the field. 9. Error is displayed even before leaving the field. My question is which of these should I rely on identifying client subdomain requests? $_SERVER["HTTP_HOST"] $_SERVER["SERVER_NAME"] $_SERVER["SCRIPT_URI"] They all seem to contain the subdomain part I want but after reading this article by Chris: http://shiflett.org/blog/2005/feb/more-on-filtering-input-and-escaping-output, I'm lost at see and there appears to be no safe way to do this?   • How to feed an xml database with tags obtained thru html forms ?

    Hello! Not a programmer, I begin with xml, html forms and xslt on Mac. I plan to use a form to post short texts in a xhtml page and invite end users to add some annotations to the said text. The users would select a specific part of the text posted and each annotation would stand for one specific chain of characters. My goal is to consolidate the tags obtained from various user's annotations to one xml "knowledge base" containing the original text with all the revision indicators. Then I plan to use xslt sheets to product various reports based on the tags obtained. my two questions are : 1- am I dreaming ? Is it really possible to do that with xml, xforms, xslt without using java, php, ajax or other seasoned programmer's tools ? 2- What should be my focus for further explorations aiming in that direction ?   • How to view existing data in Core Data?

    Well, may be this question is silly, but I couldn't find a way (except programmatically). I built a project (for iPhone OS 3.0) which uses Core Data. The xcdatamodel file shows the schema description, but I want to see the data in tabular form (like the management studio for mssql server or phpmyadmin for mysql). Is there any way (except coding)? What is that? Also, which file (in disk/device) those data are stored into? [ I built the tutorial (from apple) on Core Data, named Locations. They used this line somewhere in the code: NSURL *storeUrl = [NSURL fileURLWithPath: [[self applicationDocumentsDirectory] stringByAppendingPathComponent: @"Locations.sqlite"]]; But, I did not see any "xxxxx.sqlite" file in project location (nor in the disk).]

  • MongoDB query against geospatial index with maxDistance fails from node.js client

    I want to query against a geospatial index in mongo-db (designed after this tutorial http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Geospatial+Indexing). So when I execute this from the shell everything works fine: db.sellingpoints.find(( { location : { $near: [48.190120, 16.270895], $maxDistance: 7 / 111.2 } } ); but the same query from my nodejs application (using mongoskin or mongoose), won't return any results until i set the distance-value to a very high number (5690) db.collection('sellingpoints') .find({ location: { $near: [lat,lng], $maxDistance: distance / 111.2} }) .limit(limit) .toArray(callback); Has someone any idea how to fix that?

  • Membership and asp.net MVC

    I’m building a site that needs users created with different roles and permissions to access different areas of the site. I using mvc 2 but I can’t find much clear guidance on using the Membership tool with mvc to create accounts and roles etc. I tried the web configuration tool which works but I would like to administrate the site remotely. I used the aspnet_regsql tool so I can access the SqlMembershipProvider Schema in my Database. I also need to add more information to a user like profile info and a picture, would I add these to the membership tables or create separate tables for this?     I created a controller and a model. The controller is called "Admin" and the model is called "Album". I edited database.yml with proper info and did the rake db:migrate command which didn't return any errors and did migrate the db inside schema.rb. Inside the controller I wrote: class AdminController < ApplicationController scaffold :album end Next I started my server and went to http://localhost:3000/admin but instead of seeing the typical CRUD page I get the following error: app/controllers/admin_controller.rb:3 Request Parameters: None Show session dump --- flash: !map:ActionController::Flash::FlashHash {} Response Headers: {"cookie"=>[], "Cache-Control"=>"no-cache"} Any idea why?

Im not sure where Maven is getting this version of JAVA_HOME. JAVA_HOME in windows envionrmental variables is set to C:\bea\jdk150_11\ as it should be.   • iPhone app launch times and Core Data migration

    I have a Core Data application which I plan to update with a new schema. The lightweight migration seems to work, but it takes time proportional to the amount of data in the database. This occurs in the didFinishLaunchingWithOptions phase of the app. I want to avoid <app> failed to launch in time problems, so I assume I cannot keep the migration in the didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method. I assume the best method would involve performing the migration in a background thread. I assume also that I'd need to defer loading of the main ViewController until the loading completes to avoid using the managedObjectContext until initialization completes. Does this make sense, and is there example code (maybe in Apple sample projects) of this sort of initialization?

The text file must contain title, description and keywords of the xml file without the tags and removing other elements and attributes as well.   • Insert hex string value to sql server image field is appending extra 0

    Have an image field and want to insert into this from a hex string: insert into imageTable(imageField) values(convert(image, 0x3C3F78...)) however when I run select the value is return with an extra 0 as 0x03C3F78... This extra 0 is causing a problem in another application, I dont want it. How to stop the extra 0 being added? The schema is: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[templates]( [templateId] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [templateName] [nvarchar](50) NOT NULL, [templateBody] [image] NOT NULL, [templateType] [int] NULL) and the query is: insert into templates(templateName, templateBody, templateType) values('I love stackoverflow', convert(image, 0x3C3F786D6C2076657273696F6E3D.......), 2) the actual hex string is quite large to post here.
