• Mysql help with view more button.

  I am working on a widget that is a lot like twitters widget where there is a list of postings and a view more button. I can get it to work with using ID variables but I would like to sort by popular posts. Here is my mysq code: $sql = "SELECT id, title, category, icon_normal, status, description, views_monthly FROM posts WHERE views_monthly<=".$lastPost." AND status='1' ORDER BY views_monthly DESC LIMIT 9" So the problem that I am having is it shows the first 9 just fine. When it gets to the point where views_monthly = 0 then it just loads the same 9 post over again. How do it get it to switch to using ID when it reaches Views_monthly = 0 and load fresh posts?

• Getting 'choice' to work in Highline Ruby Gem without error and getting variable from it

  I'm having a couple of problems using Highline in Ruby, and trying to get the choice element, detailed here, to work. At the moment the following code produces the error "error: wrong number of arguments (0 for 1). Use --trace to view backtrace" How do I get the variable out of choice? At the moment I have the 'do' setup, but I have no idea about how to get the variable the user has chosen out and into a variable for use elsewhere. • Why is this NaN to javascript?

  I have this object printed with console.log Array[1] 0: Object address: "blablabalbala" datatype: "Location" icon: "cafetaria" id: "/mensa/wo_mensa1_turm.std.php" kind: "Mensa" lat: 50.777016 lon: 6.080348 sortkey: "zeltmensa, forum cafete" stationId: "/mensa/wo_mensa1_turm.std.php" title: "Zeltmensa, Forum Cafete" type: "Mensa" But console.log("nav to: "+data[0].lat+" "+data[0].lon); gives me undefined undefined, and at another point NaN NaN.. I don't understand this. It also doesn't let me use any other attributes like data[0].addresse, which returns undefined aswell. Thanks for help.

• Two part form in Rails

  I have some two nested resources, so that a Product can have many Bookings. On one page in a different controller I want to create a new booking and since it's a "general" booking I want a select menu to appear in a modal window where the user is able to pick one of the existing products and then go to the booking page. How can I do this? I have no problem setting up the modal and the "New booking" page is already there. What I need is a form that generates a list of existing products, picks the selected product id and then gets /products/:product_id/bookings/new . Any help appreciated! I realize my title does not describe my problem very good so better suggestions are highly welcome!

• passing a float as a pointer to a matrix

  Honestly, I couldnt think of a better title for this issue because I am having 2 problems and I don't know the cause. The first problem I have is this //global declaration float g_posX = 0.0f; ............. //if keydown happens g_posX += 0.03f; &m_mtxView._41 = g_posX; I get this error cannot convert from 'float' to 'float *' So I assume that the matrix only accepts pointers. So i change the varible to this.... //global declaration float *g_posX = 0.0f; ............. //if keydown happens g_posX += 0.03f; &m_mtxView._41 = &g_posX; and I get this error cannot convert from 'float' to 'float *' which is pretty much saying that I can not declare g_posX as a pointer. honestly, I don't know what to do.

I have a method in Obj-C that takes in a NSString and then should create a new class with the String as its title. -(DataModel *)createDataModel:(NSString *)dataModel_name { DataModel *[initWithString:dataModel_name] = [[DataModel alloc] init]; } I know I have some problems in this. For starters, I don't know how to define a return on an object whose name could change. Second, I know this doesn't compile considering the initWithString method is wrong. I just don't know what to do or what method to use so that I can create this DataModel object with the specified name...

  Hi all, I have one question. I try to develop a little WYSIWYG editor. I would like create a <h1> button which allows me to generate a <h1> title (by clicking on button after text selection in <p> element). I obtain the selection with window.getSelection().... But now, I would like to put my append("<h1>my text selected</h1>") just before the <p>. It’s my problem, because my <p> elements don’t have id or class. So do you know a means to put my append just before the <p> where my text has been selected? I don’t know if with my bad English you’ll understand me! Thanks very much for your help.

  I'm new to PHP and want to apply a specific class to the title of my page depending on what part of the site the viewer is browsing. For instance, I want to apply the class "blog" to the if the viewer is at domain.com/blog OR domain.com/blog/post-1 so on and so forth BUT apply the class "pics" if they're viewing domain.com/pics or domain.com/pics/gallery-1 etc etc. I found something that could be modified to serve my needs using javascript here but I figured seeing as I'm using PHP already, it'd make more sense to keep this sort of thing server side. As I say, I'm new to PHP. I've experimented with some regular expressions, but to no avail.

• Why is iPhone 5 briefly Letterboxing and displaying Default.png in Cocos2d?

  I have [email protected] which loads fine. However, (on the actual device) after it shows the iPhone 5 then displays Default.png, in letter box mode. It then loads the 1136 × 640 px Title Screen - which is fine and what it's supposed to do. I'm using the default Cocos2d HelloWorld template. I haven't changed anything in the plist or otherwise. Any ideas? Why does it load the Default.png and how do you fix this? Thanks. In the IntroLayer we have -(void) onEnter if( UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPhone ) { background = [CCSprite spriteWithFile:@"Default.png"]; background.rotation = 90; } Which is why Default.png is showing up.   I have a form that I am using to post data to mysql. Before submitting the form I want to check the database and see if there are any fields in the column 'customerid' that equal 'userid' and if so not to post the form. Basically, I am trying to limit my users from posting more than once. Users will be able to login to my system and make ONE post. They will be able to delete and modify their post but are only limited to one post. How would I do this??? • Using calculated fields over and over again with a new table

  I'm fairly new to SQL and i had to do some calculations using a table.Imagine we have a table with fields : ID - Name - Val1 - Val2 ; Lets say i want to add up 2 values and add it to my query result.I can do that easily with a sub query such as: select val1+val2 as valtotal,* from my table. Now if i want to do some more process on valtotal, i use a derived table such as; select valtotal*3 as ValMoreCalculated,* from (select val1+val2 as valtotal,* from my table) AS A A bit more code maybe?? select ValMoreCalculated/valtotal as ValEvenMoreCalc ,* from (select valtotal*3 as ValMoreCalculated,* from (select val1+val2 as valtotal,* from my table) AS A)AS B So if i want to do more calculations with the ValMoreCalculated do i have to go through another derived table? Name it as B for example? Is there an easier way to achieve this in SQL? PS:the title is a bit off i know,but couldn't figure out what to name it :P

• Does jquery require timestamp on GET Calls in IE7?

So added the timestamp: new Date().getTime() part. That fixed the IE issue. I want o know why this happens in jQuery? Do I need to include a timestamp parameter to URL to avoid caching in all jQuery Ajax calls?
