  • Localization problems in iPhone

    Hi I have been trying to localize my iPhone app in two languages - english and german I have created two folders en.lproj and de.lproj each containing Localizable.strings file for respective language. I have included these files in my resources folder, changed the encoding of these files to UTF-16. I have tried cleaning the project and building it again, deleting folder at path: Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User But the problem is still there. Anybody having an idea please help.

  • Alert team members of SVN commit?

    I'm hosting my own svn repository on ubuntu 8.04. Is there a way for svn to send emails to team members whenever a commit has happened? If coding is required, the only language I'm able to use on a linux server is PHP. So I could write a php script to be triggered by svn. Can anyone tell me how to hook up my php script to an svn commit? Or is there another way to do this?

    i am developing an application in which i get the unicode using json and it showing correctly the unicode when i am trying to see in the debug mode,Now the problem is that how can i show in the emulator,i have using the UTF-8 for rendering the unicode bt it didn't show ? And when i am trying to show in using the setTypeface it showing the Telugu font in a simple program even but not correctly.i am using the Pothana2000.ttf to convert the telugu unicode to Telugu language.     I'm not a beginner at C# but I really need to increase my understanding, so I've picked a classic deadlock problem to code to help teach myself some of the more advanced concepts of C#. The Dining Philosophers Problem seems like a good one, but I need a little help to get started. I know I need to approach the "diners" as objects, but to simulate the random delays between eating, should I look to threading with each diner in a separate thread? Do I need some kind of "master" to monitor all the actions? Any general design concept advice is welcome, but I'd like to do the grunt programming as an exercise. Thanks!

  • Should I use Java for a custom Swing component designed for a clojure app?

    I want a simple timeline component (like in video editing software) for a clojure/seesaw app and I am wondering if it is a good approach to implement this directly with clojure and seesaw or if I should write it in java and make my clojure wrapper around it. Or more generally: is a functional programming language optimal for writing UI widgets? I cannot imagine doing that without a lot of state involved. And wasn't OO invented for UI-development in the first place?

  • Class properties vs NSArray / NSDictionary

    I want a custom class object to hold data and have somehow the feeling that creating about 80 properties is not the best way of doing it. Most of the properties would be bool values, so i'm thinking about creating Arrays (keys / values) or (probably better) a NSDictionary attached to the object for holding the data. Does that make sense or should i stay with the properties? Extra: Are there general pros and cons for the different approaches? And what keywords / concepts do i have to search for to find discussions about that somehow general question? Thanks in advance

  • domain name vs ip address, same server, but different speed

    I have two similar sites: - two of them have almost exactly the same codes, and running on the same server - both sites are the same, they just use different language. - database of the slower site is populated (maybe only the user table) the other tables for site content is the same - the faster uses root to access database one of the sites is not released yet, so it uses IP Address to access the site instead of domain name the site that is using IP address is faster (lot faster) the site that is using domain name is slower do you know why is this happening what could be the reason?

    Hi, I have been reading templates,functors,callback function for the past week and have referred some good books and articles. I however feel that, unless I can get good practice - programming in templates and use functors-callbacks there is no way I can really understand all the concepts or fluently use them while coding. Could anyone suggest some articles or books or websites where , there is a definition of the problem and also a solution to the same. I could just write code for the problem and check later on if my solution is good enough.. I am also aware that some of our stack-overflow members are experts in templates and callback functions. It would be great if they could design a problem and also post a solution , where a lot of template beginners like me could benefit.
