  I'm working on a Push Notifications library for Android (http://deaconproject.org/) that needs to take action if network connectivity is interrupted or changed - namely, it needs to re-initiate a server connection or pause its operation until network connectivity is available. This seems to work fine using and Android BroadcastReceiver for "android.net.ConnectivityManager.CONNECTIVITY_ACTION". My problem is in testing the library - I would like to automatically test the library's response to a broken network connection, or a transition from 3G to WiFi, under various configuration conditions. The problem is, I don't want to sit with the emulator and hit F8 all day. Is there a way to programmatically manipulate network connections on Android from within a jUnit test without resorting to toggling Airplane Mode? I've already tried issuing commands to the emulator via the console, manipulating the GSM mode, etc, but while the phone state changes on the display, the Internet connection remains up.

  Hi, I'm getting what appears now to be a security error in my WCF Service. Originally my error was about a falted state(removed using around client proxy to clear this error), but have found more information through enabling trace. I have been unable to get my solution running after encountering this error, and even my backup copy now gets the same error. I'm not sure what has caused this to happen, I undone the changes I made (nothing relating to WCF) and still get the same error. The error from trace is - System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: Security processor was unable to find a security header in the message. This might be because the message is an unsecured fault or because there is a binding mismatch between the communicating parties. This can occur if the service is configured for security and the client is not using security. I'm not really sure what I need to do to fix this, any help would be usefull. The application was previously working.

Thank you for the help. EDIT: I found that the source of the error is the xml element's ID attribute, where seems to be what is causing the error. How can I correctly insert xml with an attribute ? Do I need to somehow escape one of the characters?

  Hi, I've got a ListView with a custom BaseAdapter. The list items contain CheckBoxes that need to represent a property from a database. I use CheckBox.setOnCheckedChangeListener with a new OnCheckedChangeListener to detect changes, so I can change the database based on the current state of the CheckBox. Pretty straightforward stuff so far. However, when scrolling further down the list, previously checked CheckBoxes get unchecked. I suspect this happens as soon as the views are recycled (I'm using the convertView/ViewHolder technique). How can I stop this? What's going wrong? Thanks in advance. Edit: To make things a bit clearer, the problem is that recycling views somehow calls OnCheckedChangeListener#onCheckedChanged(buttonView, isChecked) with isChecked == false.

  Hello, I recently started experimenting with jQgrid, and much appreciate for any guidance on the below use case. I need to implement a (advanced)search functionality, and the results are loaded in the jQgrid. When use pagination, how to specify a complex query in the post data? In the serverside (grails) it it represented as an object, which is mocked below class searchCommand { String val1 List<long> ids //from the multiple selection } the above members can be null, if the user doesn't select any. Without saving the state at the server, I guess the only way to make the pagination work is to pass the query object back and forth with the correct offset, index etc. if that is the case, how best to represent it in jQgrid side. I saw a parameter postData to set additional values, but not sure how to represnt the data (JSON??). Any code snippet on (retaining) converting it from the last result to postData would be helpful. thanks in advance.

  I'm using MVVM and am trying to databind the Source property of Image to my ViewModel in such a way that I can change the icon on the fly. What is the best pattern to follow for this? I still have the flexibility to change my ViewModel to suit, but I don't know where to start in either the xaml or ViewModel. To be clear, I don't want my ViewModel to know about the specific images (that's for the View to know), just the state that triggers different images. For now I have just two states, lets say Red and Green. Should I create an Enum property or a bool? And then how do I databind to switch the image source?

  Hello, I get a CommunicationException while using WCF service. The message is: The remote endpoint no longer recognizes this sequence. This is most likely due to an abort on the remote endpoint. The value of wsrm:Identifier is not a known Sequence identifier. The reliable session was faulted. The exception is thrown in a moment after a contract method was called. Before calling contract method the channel state is Opened. I restore my service client after catching this exception and for some time it works fine. But then this error occures again. It seems like some timeout is exceeded, but I can't understand which one exactly. I use wsHttpBinding with reliableSession enabled. The InactivityTimeout is set to half an hour and I'm sure it's not exceeded, because exception is thrown earlier.

When the user goes to another page I want it to set the HttpContext.Current.User to the object that I stored in the session, something like this: if (Session["User"] != null) { HttpContext.Current.User = Session["User"] as MyUser; } My question is: Where abouts do I put the code directly above? • Google Chrome: XMLHttpRequest.send() not working while doing POST.

  I'm working on an application that allows the user to send a file using a form (a POST request), and that executes a series of GET requests while that file is being uploaded to gather information about the state of the upload. It works fine in IE and Firefox, but not so much in Chrome and Safari. The problem is that even though send() is called on the XMLHttpRequest object, nothing is being requested as can be seen in Fiddler. To be more specific, an event handler is placed on the "submit" event of the form, that places a timeout function call on the window: window.setTimeout(startPolling, 10); and in this function "startPolling" sequence is started that keeps firing GET requests to receive status updates from a web service that returns text/json that can be used to update the UI. Is this a limitation (perhaps security-wise?) on WebKit based browsers? Is this a Chrome bug? (I'm seeing the same behaviour in Safari though).

• What is the advantage of WSDualHttpBinding in WCF?

  How much benefit would there be to using WSDualHttpBinding with IIS hosted service vs. a client poll that calls the WCF service, assuming in the latter the service cached the data in question? This scenerio would be for a notify type of service where the clients need to be notified by the service when an event occurs. Specifically, what advantages would WSDualHttpBinding provide over polling? ie: Less network traffic, faster to design, easier to maintain, more control ??? From what i understand, WSDualHttpBinding is less scalable than client polling, so why use it at all? Edit: As Matt supplied, time critical can be one reason for the duplex binding.   Hi, I am working on adding In-App purchases to my app. I am able to receive the productsRequest:didReceiveResponse method, and receive the array of products. My problem arises when I add a SKPayment to the SKPaymentQueue. After I add the product to the queue, in the paymentQueue:updatedTransactions method the transactions always have the state SKPaymentTransactionStateFailed. I NSLog the "transaction.error" and this is what it returns: Error Domain=SKErrorDomain Code=0 UserInfo=0x165000 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" I have logged out of the Store in the Settings app, but after trying to purchase a product in my app it never asks me to log in with my test account. A Google search returns tons of answers on this (some even on stackoverflow), but it appears that all point to libraries and solutions that are no longer available (for example, lots point to an implementation that is supposed to be on the json.org site, but at least I can't find anything that isn't J2SE only there). My best hope so far is the source linked here: https://meapplicationdevelopers.dev.java.net/mobileajax.html, but from that one I can't even find a straight forward way to download the code. Given the mature state of Java in all other aspects, surely there must be somewhere I can get a pre-compiled JAR to use for parsing JSON from J2ME?

For a beginner level, I just want to know how to handle the tag between the adapter and activity. From the commonsware example I can set the tag on adapter, but can't show the corresponding image at the idle state of the listview. Please help me with your ideas.
