  • How do you find out release, mailing list statistics information on open source projects

    We are interested in finding out some statistics of various frameworks Mailing list activity on say richfaces. Much similar to what is available on http://code.google.com (Low, Medium, High) + average number of emails per day | per month. Number of releases made in a year including patch, minor, major releases. We did look at the maven repositories but that wasn't very useful either. We did look at ohloh, but didn't get the desired information. Any other ideas on where to get this information (any maven-2 plugins)?

    Can somebody please provide some sample code to strip diacritical marks (i.e., replace characters having accents, umlauts, etc., with their unaccented, unumlauted, etc., character equivalents, e.g., every accented é would become a plain ASCII e) from a UnicodeString using the ICU library in C++?     I just figured out that all code completion for Eclipse is stored in plain files located here (example): .\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.php.core_2.1.1.v20090921-1100\Resources\language I tried adding global variables like $_POST, $_GET, $_SERVER to the end of basic.php but without any luck (did try to restart Eclipse). Is there a way to create compatible files for the needs of "smooth integration" of (ie.)CodeIgniter framework by adding or changing files located here and how would it be done?

I'm looking for a resource that goes into some depth on MVC, event models, delegates, etc. Something in a similar vein to the POSA series would be excellent.     What is the best way to launch reporting services reports from .Net code? One method would be to dynamically build a URL and launch a browser. Something like this: http://server/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?%2fReport+Directory%2fReport%20Name&FirstParameter=1,2,3&SecondParameter=8/30/2009&rs%3aCommand=Render I don't like how it creates a dependency on the specific URL--especially report parameters which are very likely to change. Is there a better way? The reports I want to link to are in several reporting services projects hosted on one (eventually two) servers.

I've tryed SELECT 'TRUNCATE TABLE ' + TABLE_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHERE TABLE_NAME LIKE 'inventory%' but I get this error: Truncated incorrect DOUBLE value: 'TRUNCATE TABLE ' Error Code 1292 if this is the correct way, then what am I doing wrong?

    I have built my own little custom XML-RPC server, and since I'd like to keep things simple, on both server and client side, what I would like to accomplish is to create a simplest possible client (in C# preferably) using WCF. Let's say that Contract for service exposed via XML-RPC is as follows: [ServiceContract] public interface IContract { [OperationContract(Action="Ping")] string Ping(); // server returns back string "Pong" [OperationContract(Action="Echo")] string Echo(string message); // server echoes back whatever message is } So, there are two example methods, one without any arguments, and another with simple string argument, both returning strings (just for sake of example). Service is exposed via http. Aaand, what's next? :) P.S. I have tried googling around for samples and similar, but all that I could come up with are some blog-related samples that use existing (and very big/numerous) classes, which implement appropriate IContract (or IBlogger) interfaces, so that most of what I am interested is hidden below several layers of abstraction...

    Yes, I know the following code does not work in IE. I know IE expects me to use XDomainRequest() instead. I don't care about that. This is firefox only. I'm trying to do a cross-domain web request in firefox javascript. I keep getting a status of 0. Does anyone know why? var url = "http://newyork.craigslist.org"; var xdr = new XMLHttpRequest(); //Yes, I know IE expects XDomainRequest.   • Performing your own runtime analysis of your code in C#

    I have written a large C# app with many methods in many classes. I'm trying to keep a log of what gets called and how often during my development. (I keep a record in a DB) Every method is padded with the following calls: void myMethod() { log(entering,args[]); log(exiting,args[]); } Since I want to do this for all my methods, is there a better way to do this then having to replicate those lines of code in every method?
