    I use the StreamReader class to obtain XML for my GeoCoding process from Google. StreamReader srGeoCode = new StreamReader(WebRequest.Create(Url).GetResponse().GetResponseStream()); String GeoCodeXml = srGeoCode.ReadToEnd(); XmlDocument XmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); GeoCode oGeoCode = new GeoCode(); XmlDoc.Load(GeoCodeXml); I get XML back but it adds \n and other extras to the XML <?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" ?>\n<kml xmlns=\"http://earth.google.com/kml/2.0\"><Response>\n <name> I have the same code in VB and it does not do this. I can successfully GeoCode my information using the VB version of this console app. Is there a reason the C# version adds this extra data to the XML that I retrieve back? I am trying my best to convert everything over to C#. I enjoy coding in it over VB.

    My master page has a contentplaceholder in the head tag. Because I want my page's title to represent the function of the current page and because I want the title to be translated in the user's language I have added a title tag in the page's head's contentplaceholder. All jolly and good except that now there appears a second, empty title tag that off course isn't valid. Any ideas how to solve this?

    Hi there, after some hours of checking out documentation, I am somewhat desperate: Basically I need to populate a TabContainer with some TextBoxes, and some Checkboxes. All theses neatly arranged: Labels to the left, fields to the right. To have this done I use a TableContainer that I add to the TabContainer, create the TextFields and add them to the TableContainer. All is rendered ok. But when it comes to a checkbox, I can't find the trick to have a label displayed at all. If I: - add a label-attribute to creation statement say: var text8 = new dijit.form.CheckBox({ id:"zuschauer_" + i, value: "zuschauer", label:"fritt"}); Firefox comes up with a "containerNode is null" - Error try to add a tag: Nothing is shown (no error, but alas: no label): var text9 = dojo.create('<label>'); dojo.attr(text9,"for","zuschauer_" + i); dojo.attr(text9,"content","fritt"); try to add a div or somewhat else on the tablecontainer (disabled Labels): Firefox comes up whith: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception...     hello, I have had a hard time getting and answer to this and i would really , really appreciate some help on this. i have been on this for over 2 weeks without headway. i want to use c# to add a line of stock data to amibroker but i just cant find a CLEAR response on how to instantiate it in C#. I found the code below somewhere online but i cant seem to understand how to achieve the above. I am using a datatable and then assigning the datatable to the gridview. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I need to use the Sub GridView1_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As GridViewRowEventArgs).   • Adding functionality to any TextReader

    I have a Location class which represents a location somewhere in a stream. (The class isn't coupled to any specific stream.) The location information will be used to match tokens to location in the input in my parser, to allow for nicer error reporting to the user. I want to add location tracking to a TextReader instance. This way, while reading tokens, I can grab the location (which is updated by the TextReader as data is read) and give it to the token during the tokenization process. I am looking for a good approach on accomplishing this goal. I have come up with several designs. Manual location tracking Every time I need to read from the TextReader, I call AdvanceString on the Location object of the tokenizer with the data read. Advantages Very simple. No class bloat. No need to rewrite the TextReader methods. Disadvantages Couples location tracking logic to tokenization process. Easy to forget to track something (though unit testing helps with this). Bloats existing code. Plain TextReader wrapper Create a LocatedTextReaderWrapper class which surrounds each method call, tracking a Location property. Example: public class LocatedTextReaderWrapper : TextReader { private TextReader source; public Location Location { get; set; } public LocatedTextReaderWrapper(TextReader source) : this(source, new Location()) { } public LocatedTextReaderWrapper(TextReader source, Location location) { this.Location = location; this.source = source; } public override int Read(char[] buffer, int index, int count) { int ret = this.source.Read(buffer, index, count); if(ret >= 0) { this.location.AdvanceString(string.Concat(buffer.Skip(index).Take(count))); } return ret; } // etc. } Advantages Tokenization doesn't know about Location tracking. Disadvantages User needs to create and dispose a LocatedTextReaderWrapper instance, in addition to their TextReader instance. Doesn't allow different types of tracking or different location trackers to be added without layers of wrappers. Event-based TextReader wrapper Like LocatedTextReaderWrapper, but decouples it from the Location object raising an event whenever data is read. Advantages Can be reused for other types of tracking. Tokenization doesn't know about Location tracking or other tracking. Can have multiple, independent Location objects (or other methods of tracking) tracking at once. Disadvantages Requires boilerplate code to enable location tracking. User needs to create and dispose the wrapper instance, in addition to their TextReader instance. Aspect-orientated approach Use AOP to perform like the event-based wrapper approach. Advantages Can be reused for other types of tracking. Tokenization doesn't know about Location tracking or other tracking. No need to rewrite the TextReader methods. Disadvantages Requires external dependencies, which I want to avoid. I am looking for the best approach in my situation. I would like to: Not bloat the tokenizer methods with location tracking. Not require heavy initialization in user code. Not have any/much boilerplate/duplicated code. (Perhaps) not couple the TextReader with the Location class. Any insight into this problem and possible solutions or adjustments are welcome. Thanks! (For those who want a specific question: What is the best way to wrap the functionality of a TextReader?) I have implemented the "Plain TextReader wrapper" and "Event-based TextReader wrapper" approaches and am displeased with both, for reasons mentioned in their disadvantages.

    In the code below I am popping up a ImageView as the result of a users touchUpInside on a simple info button. There are other buttons on the view. To dismiss the info I added a UITapGestureRecognizer to my controllers view, and hide the view when the tap is detected. If I don't remove the tapGestureRecognizer, the action is called every time some. Even when I do remove the gesture action, no bottons receive touchUpInside events once this gesture recognizer is added. Why?     I'm using the Refinery content management system with a the Portfolio plugin see http://github.com/resolve/refinerycms I wanted to create a title and description for images uploaded to Refinery using Refinerycms-Portfolio so far I have done the following; added the columns to the images table $script/generate migration AddTitleToImages title:string $script/generate migration AddBodyToImages body:text $rake db:migrate modified the field div in this file, * highlighted vendor/plugins/images/app/views/admin/images/_form.html.erb Use current image or, replace it with this one... ***** ***** ***** ***** "wymeditor", :rows = 7 % Added these lines to the main image partial in vendor/plugins/refinerycms-portolio/app/views/portfolio/ _main_image.html.erb <%= @image.body % This works in the back-end except for a few visual bugs. The problem with this is when i click through the thumbnails in the front-end the titles and descriptions keep stacking on top of the previous titles and descriptions. The main image changes fine, but instead of refreshing the title and description, it adds the new one above the previous titles and descriptions. How can i stop this repetition so that only one title and description will show at a time? I'm new to Rails and I am using Rails-2.3.5 and I suspect this can be solved using Java Script thanks in advance, John

  • edmx - The operation could not be completed - After adding Inheritance

    Hey guys I have an edmx model which I have draged 2 tables onto - One called 'File' and the other 'ApplicaitonFile'. These two tables have a 1 to 1 relationship in the database. If I stop here everything works fine. But in my model, I want 'ApplicaitonFile' to inherit from 'File'. So I delete the 1 to 1 relationship then configure 'ApplicaitonFile' from 'File' and then remove the FileId from 'ApplicaitonFile' which was the primary key. (Note I am following the instructions from here). If I leave the model open at this point everything is fine, but as soon as I close it, if I try and reopen it again I get the following error "The operation could not be completed". I have been searching for a solution and found this - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/944050/entity-model-does-not-load but as far as I can tell I don't have a duplicate InheritanceConnectors (although I don't know exactly what I'm looking for but I can't see anything out of the ordinary - like 2 connectors with the same name) and the relationship I originally have is a 1 to 1 not a 1 to 0..1 Any ideas???

    Hi all! I have a UIScrollView in my project. I have a view controller I would like to add as a child of the UIScrollview. Would I just do that like this: [scrollView addSubview:theViewController.view]; or is there a better way? (theView is a view, not the TV show) Furthermore, I would like to be able to use a UIButton in scrollView's parent view controller to toggle whether or not the user is scrolling with scrollView and NOT interacting with theView or NOT scrolling with scrollview and interacting with theView. Should I just have that set the property: scrollView.userInteractionEnabled = NO; or would that disable interaction with theView because it's a child? Thanks for your help!

    Hi there, i am working on a windows phone application and i am using the pie chart - i am relatively new to the silverlight control toolbox. i want to make my pie chart use different opacity's of the PhoneAccentBrush as its colour pallete. (ie if the accent colour is green then i use the green and then a 0.8,0.6,0.4,0.2 opacity of the colour as my pie charts pallete) i have tried a few things, but none of them worked - has anyone accomplished this and if so how? thanks in advance Doug

    I have the following layout which works in Portrait mode: the Layout with the id LinearLayout02 is placed at the bottom of the screen. The problem appears when flipping to Lanscape mode, when the #LinearLayout02 is placed at the top of the screen. The question is how do I position #LinearLayout02 at the bottom of the screen in both Portrait and Landscape mode?   • Properties.Settings Ambiguity after adding LINQ to SQL

    I have recently linked a database to my C# service by creating a LINQ to SQL item in my solution. Everything was fine and dandy as I was continuing to code, but then I suddenly noticed that there where 16 Ambiguity errors. e.g. Ambiguity between 'EmailService.Properties.Settings.defaultInstance' and 'EmailService.Properties.Settings.defaultInstance' What happened was that the database file decided to create it's own Setting.Designer.cs; So now I have a Settings.Designer.cs and a Settings1.Designer.cs (which was created by the LINQ to SQL file) in my Properties folder. Is there anyway that I can change where the database file is referencing its settings so I can delete the duplicate?
