  • django: search forms and redirect

    - by gruszczy
    After processing form from POST I should redirect, to prevent user from hitting back. However, I am using form to determine search query on a database, so I need to either pass params to the redirected site or the result of a search. Or maybe there is some other good practice, how to solve this problem? Maybe in this situation I am allowed not to redirect (nothing happens, if user performs search again).

  • Problem with eager load polymorphic associations using Linq and NHibernate

    - by Voislav
    Is it possible to eagerly load polymorphic association using Linq and NH? For example: Company is base class, Department is inherited from Company, and Company has association Employees to the User (one-to-many) and also association to the Country (many-to-one). Here is mapping part related to inherited class (without User and Country classes): <class name="Company" discriminator-value="Company"> <id name="Id" type="int" unsaved-value="0" access="nosetter.camelcase-underscore"> <generator class="native"></generator> </id> <discriminator column="OrganizationUnit" type="string" length="10" not-null="true"/> <property name="Name" type="string" length="50" not-null="true"/> <many-to-one name="Country" class="Country" column="CountryId" not-null ="false" foreign-key="FK_Company_CountryId" access="field.camelcase-underscore" /> <set name="Departments" inverse="true" lazy="true" access="field.camelcase-underscore"> <key column="DepartmentParentId" not-null="false" foreign-key="FK_Department_DepartmentParentId"></key> <one-to-many class="Department"></one-to-many> </set> <set name="Employees" inverse="true" lazy="true" access="field.camelcase-underscore"> <key column="CompanyId" not-null="false" foreign-key="FK_User_CompanyId"></key> <one-to-many class="User"></one-to-many> </set> <subclass name="Department" extends="Company" discriminator-value="Department"> <many-to-one name="DepartmentParent" class="Company" column="DepartmentParentId" not-null ="false" foreign-key="FK_Department_DepartmentParentId" access="field.camelcase-underscore" /> </subclass> </class> I do not have problem to eagerly load any of the association on the Company: Session.Query<Company>().Where(c => c.Name == "Main Company").Fetch(c => c.Country).Single(); Session.Query<Company>().Where(c => c.Name == "Main Company").FetchMany(c => c.Employees).Single(); Also, I could eagerly load not-polymorphic association on the department: Session.Query<Department>().Where(d => d.Name == "Department 1").Fetch(d => d.DepartmentParent).Single(); But I get NullReferenceException when I try to eagerly load any of the polymorphic association (from the Department): Assert.Throws<NullReferenceException>(() => Session.Query<Department>().Where(d => d.Name == "Department 1").Fetch(d => d.Country).Single()); Assert.Throws<NullReferenceException>(() => Session.Query<Department>().Where(d => d.Name == "Department 1").FetchMany(d => d.Employees).Single()); Am I doing something wrong or this is not supported yet?

  • Utility that helps in file locking - expert tips wanted

    - by maix
    I've written a subclass of file that a) provides methods to conveniently lock it (using fcntl, so it only supports unix, which is however OK for me atm) and b) when reading or writing asserts that the file is appropriately locked. Now I'm not an expert at such stuff (I've just read one paper [de] about it) and would appreciate some feedback: Is it secure, are there race conditions, are there other things that could be done better … Here is the code: from fcntl import flock, LOCK_EX, LOCK_SH, LOCK_UN, LOCK_NB class LockedFile(file): """ A wrapper around `file` providing locking. Requires a shared lock to read and a exclusive lock to write. Main differences: * Additional methods: lock_ex, lock_sh, unlock * Refuse to read when not locked, refuse to write when not locked exclusivly. * mode cannot be `w` since then the file would be truncated before it could be locked. You have to lock the file yourself, it won't be done for you implicitly. Only you know what lock you need. Example usage:: def get_config(): f = LockedFile(CONFIG_FILENAME, 'r') f.lock_sh() config = parse_ini(f.read()) f.close() def set_config(key, value): f = LockedFile(CONFIG_FILENAME, 'r+') f.lock_ex() config = parse_ini(f.read()) config[key] = value f.truncate() f.write(make_ini(config)) f.close() """ def __init__(self, name, mode='r', *args, **kwargs): if 'w' in mode: raise ValueError('Cannot open file in `w` mode') super(LockedFile, self).__init__(name, mode, *args, **kwargs) self.locked = None def lock_sh(self, **kwargs): """ Acquire a shared lock on the file. If the file is already locked exclusively, do nothing. :returns: Lock status from before the call (one of 'sh', 'ex', None). :param nonblocking: Don't wait for the lock to be available. """ if self.locked == 'ex': return # would implicitly remove the exclusive lock return self._lock(LOCK_SH, **kwargs) def lock_ex(self, **kwargs): """ Acquire an exclusive lock on the file. :returns: Lock status from before the call (one of 'sh', 'ex', None). :param nonblocking: Don't wait for the lock to be available. """ return self._lock(LOCK_EX, **kwargs) def unlock(self): """ Release all locks on the file. Flushes if there was an exclusive lock. :returns: Lock status from before the call (one of 'sh', 'ex', None). """ if self.locked == 'ex': self.flush() return self._lock(LOCK_UN) def _lock(self, mode, nonblocking=False): flock(self, mode | bool(nonblocking) * LOCK_NB) before = self.locked self.locked = {LOCK_SH: 'sh', LOCK_EX: 'ex', LOCK_UN: None}[mode] return before def _assert_read_lock(self): assert self.locked, "File is not locked" def _assert_write_lock(self): assert self.locked == 'ex', "File is not locked exclusively" def read(self, *args): self._assert_read_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).read(*args) def readline(self, *args): self._assert_read_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).readline(*args) def readlines(self, *args): self._assert_read_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).readlines(*args) def xreadlines(self, *args): self._assert_read_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).xreadlines(*args) def __iter__(self): self._assert_read_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).__iter__() def next(self): self._assert_read_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).next() def write(self, *args): self._assert_write_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).write(*args) def writelines(self, *args): self._assert_write_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).writelines(*args) def flush(self): self._assert_write_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).flush() def truncate(self, *args): self._assert_write_lock() return super(LockedFile, self).truncate(*args) def close(self): self.unlock() return super(LockedFile, self).close() (the example in the docstring is also my current use case for this) Thanks for having read until down here, and possibly even answering :)

  • best way to deal with python pdb flakiness re/stdout?

    - by YGA
    I love python and hate the pdb debugger. For instance, if I have a program where stdout is redirected, my pdb prompts all go to the redirection, because the library was written to write to stdout. Oftentimes this problem is subtle, causing me to think a program is hanging when it's really waiting for input. How do people work around this? (Unfortunately, using other debuggers like winpdb is not an option). Thanks, /YGA

  • How to use Selenium Grid???

    - by user300591
    Hi All, I'm researching Selenium and have a seminar for my group... I meet many troubles with this I use C# language and write a demo SeleniumExample.dll Then i start selenium RC and NUnit and run it with nUnit to see the test report. I read testdata from xml. Here's the SeleniumExample.dll: using System; using System.Xml; using System.Text; using System.Text.RegularExpressions; using System.Threading; using NUnit.Framework; using Selenium; namespace SeleniumExample { public class Success_Login { //User defined private string strURL = "http://newtours.demoaut.com/ mercurywelcome.php"; private string[] strBrowser = new string[3] { "*iehta", "*firefox", "*safari" }; // System defined private ISelenium selenium; private StringBuilder verificationErrors ; [SetUp] public void SetupTest() { selenium = new DefaultSelenium("localhost", 4444, this.strBrowser[0], this.strURL); selenium.Start(); verificationErrors = new StringBuilder(); } [TearDown] public void TeardownTest() { try { selenium.Stop(); } catch (Exception) { // Ignore errors if unable to close the browser } Assert.AreEqual("", verificationErrors.ToString()); } [Test] public void Success_LoginTest() { try { XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); XmlNode docNode; doc.Load("XMLFile1.xml"); docNode = doc["TestCase"]; foreach (XmlNode node in docNode) { selenium.Open("/"); selenium.Type("userName", node["username"].InnerText); selenium.Type("password", node["password"].InnerText); selenium.Click("login"); selenium.WaitForPageToLoad("30000"); Assert.AreEqual("Find a Flight: Mercury Tours:", selenium.GetTitle()); } } catch (AssertionException e) { verificationErrors.Append(e.Message); } } } } Now I wan to have a demo that using Selenium Grid (SG) but i dont know how to do. I read document and understand the way SG works. I install SG and install Ant1.8. The tests will communicate with Selenium Hub. Actually, I just understand the theory i dont know how to make the tests communicate with Selenium Hub and how to make Selenium Hub control Selenium RC. I am a new for Selenium. If anyone know this, please help me. I appreciate it so much. THANKS, Hoang

  • Linq-to-sql Compiled Query returning object NOT belonging to submitted DataContext

    - by Vladimir Kojic
    Compiled query: public static class Machines { public static readonly Func<OperationalDataContext, short, Machine> QueryMachineById = CompiledQuery.Compile((OperationalDataContext db, short machineID) => db.Machines.Where(m => m.MachineID == machineID).SingleOrDefault() ); public static Machine GetMachineById(IUnitOfWork unitOfWork, short id) { Machine machine; // Old code (working) //var machineRepository = unitOfWork.GetRepository<Machine>(); //machine = machineRepository.Find(m => m.MachineID == id).SingleOrDefault(); // New code (making problems) machine = QueryMachineById(unitOfWork.DataContext, id); return machine; } It looks like compiled query is caching Machine object and returning the same object even if query is called from new DataContext (I’m disposing DataContext in the service but I’m getting Machine from previous DataContext). I use POCOs and XML mapping. Revised: It looks like compiled query is returning result from new data context and it is not using the one that I passed in compiled-query. Therefore I can not reuse returned object and link it to another object obtained from datacontext thru non compiled queries. [TestMethod] public void GetMachinesTest() { // Test Preparation (not important) using (var unitOfWork = IoC.Get<IUnitOfWork>()) { var machineRepository = unitOfWork.GetRepository<Machine>(); // GET ALL List<Machine> list = machineRepository.FindAll().ToList<Machine>(); VerifyIntegratedMachine(list[2], 3, "Machine 3", "333333", "G300PET", "MachineIconC.xaml", false, true, LicenseType.Licensed, "10.0.97.3", "10.0.97.3", 0); var machine = Machines.GetMachineById(unitOfWork, 3); Assert.AreSame(list[2], machine); // PASS !!!! } using (var unitOfWork = IoC.Get<IUnitOfWork>()) { var machineRepository = unitOfWork.GetRepository<Machine>(); // GET ALL List<Machine> list = machineRepository.FindAll().ToList<Machine>(); VerifyIntegratedMachine(list[2], 3, "Machine 3", "333333", "G300PET", "MachineIconC.xaml", false, true, LicenseType.Licensed, "10.0.97.3", "10.0.97.3", 0); var machine = Machines.GetMachineById(unitOfWork, 3); Assert.AreSame(list[2], machine); // FAIL !!!! } } If I run other (complex) unit tests I'm getting as expected: An attempt has been made to Attach or Add an entity that is not new, perhaps having been loaded from another DataContext.

  • Complex error handling

    - by Caspin
    I've got a particularly ornery piece of network code. I'm using asio but that really doesn't matter for this question. I assume there is no way to unbind a socket other than closing it. The problem is that open(), bind(), and listen() can all throw a system_error. So I handled the code with a simple try/catch. The code as written in broken. using namespace boost::asio; class Thing { public: ip::tcp::endpoint m_address; ip::tcp::acceptor m_acceptor; /// connect should handle all of its exceptions internally. bool connect() { try { m_acceptor.open( m_address.protocol() ); m_acceptor.set_option( tcp::acceptor::reuse_address(true) ); m_acceptor.bind( m_address ); m_acceptor.listen(); m_acceptor.async_accept( /*stuff*/ ); } catch( const boost::system::system_error& error ) { assert(acceptor.is_open()); m_acceptor.close(); return false; } return true; } /// don't call disconnect unless connect previously succeeded. void disconnect() { // other stuff needed to disconnect is ommited m_acceptor.close(); } }; The error is if the socket fails to connect it will try to close it in the catch block and throw another system_error about closing an acceptor that has never been opened. One solution is to add an if( acceptor.is_open() ) in the catch block but that tastes wrong. Kinda like mixing C-style error checking with c++ exceptions. If I where to go that route, I may as well use the non-throwing version of open(). boost::system::error_code error; acceptor.open( address.protocol, error ); if( ! error ) { try { acceptor.set_option( tcp::acceptor::reuse_address(true) ); acceptor.bind( address ); acceptor.listen(); acceptor.async_accept( /*stuff*/ ); } catch( const boost::system::system_error& error ) { assert(acceptor.is_open()); acceptor.close(); return false; } } return !error; Is there an elegant way to handle these possible exceptions using RAII and try/catch blocks? Am I just wrong headed in trying to avoid if( error condition ) style error handling when using exceptions?

    So how do you maintain the form security about posting data to different page problem? For instance you have a member and he/she tries to change the personal settings and you redirected member to www.domain.com/member/change/member_id member changed the values and post the data to another page by changing the action with firebug or something else. For instance www.domain.com/member/change/member_id_2 How do you handle this problem without using sessions?

  • How do you unit test a unit test?

    - by FlySwat
    I was watching Rob Connerys webcasts on the MVCStoreFront App, and I noticed he was unit testing even the most mundane things, things like: public Decimal DiscountPrice { get { return this.Price - this.Discount; } } Would have a test like: [TestMethod] public void Test_DiscountPrice { Product p = new Product(); p.Price = 100; p.Discount = 20; Assert.IsEqual(p.DiscountPrice,80); } While, I am all for unit testing, I sometimes wonder if this form of test first development is really beneficial, for example, in a real process, you have 3-4 layers above your code (Business Request, Requirements Document, Architecture Document), where the actual defined business rule (Discount Price is Price - Discount) could be misdefined. If that's the situation, your unit test means nothing to you. Additionally, your unit test is another point of failure: [TestMethod] public void Test_DiscountPrice { Product p = new Product(); p.Price = 100; p.Discount = 20; Assert.IsEqual(p.DiscountPrice,90); } Now the test is flawed. Obviously in a simple test, it's no big deal, but say we were testing a complicated business rule. What do we gain here? Fast forward two years into the application's life, when maintenance developers are maintaining it. Now the business changes its rule, and the test breaks again, some rookie developer then fixes the test incorrectly...we now have another point of failure. All I see is more possible points of failure, with no real beneficial return, if the discount price is wrong, the test team will still find the issue, how did unit testing save any work? What am I missing here? Please teach me to love TDD, as I'm having a hard time accepting it as useful so far. I want too, because I want to stay progressive, but it just doesn't make sense to me. EDIT: A couple people keep mentioned that testing helps enforce the spec. It has been my experience that the spec has been wrong as well, more often than not, but maybe I'm doomed to work in an organization where the specs are written by people who shouldn't be writing specs.

  • BDD for C# NUnit

    - by mjezzi
    I've been using a home brewed BDD Spec extension for writing BDD style tests in NUnit, and I wanted to see what everyone thought. Does it add value? Does is suck? If so why? Is there something better out there? Here's the source: https://github.com/mjezzi/NSpec There are two reasons I created this To make my tests easy to read. To produce a plain english output to review specs. Here's an example of how a test will look: -since zombies seem to be popular these days.. Given a Zombie, Peson, and IWeapon: namespace Project.Tests.PersonVsZombie { public class Zombie { } public interface IWeapon { void UseAgainst( Zombie zombie ); } public class Person { private IWeapon _weapon; public bool IsStillAlive { get; set; } public Person( IWeapon weapon ) { IsStillAlive = true; _weapon = weapon; } public void Attack( Zombie zombie ) { if( _weapon != null ) _weapon.UseAgainst( zombie ); else IsStillAlive = false; } } } And the NSpec styled tests: public class PersonAttacksZombieTests { [Test] public void When_a_person_with_a_weapon_attacks_a_zombie() { var zombie = new Zombie(); var weaponMock = new Mock<IWeapon>(); var person = new Person( weaponMock.Object ); person.Attack( zombie ); "It should use the weapon against the zombie".ProveBy( spec => weaponMock.Verify( x => x.UseAgainst( zombie ), spec ) ); "It should keep the person alive".ProveBy( spec => Assert.That( person.IsStillAlive, Is.True, spec ) ); } [Test] public void When_a_person_without_a_weapon_attacks_a_zombie() { var zombie = new Zombie(); var person = new Person( null ); person.Attack( zombie ); "It should cause the person to die".ProveBy( spec => Assert.That( person.IsStillAlive, Is.False, spec ) ); } } You'll get the Spec output in the output window: [PersonVsZombie] - PersonAttacksZombieTests When a person with a weapon attacks a zombie It should use the weapon against the zombie It should keep the person alive When a person without a weapon attacks a zombie It should cause the person to die 2 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped, took 0.39 seconds (NUnit 2.5.5).

    I am using the urllib2 module in Python 2.6.4, running in Windows XP, to access a URL. I am making a post request, that does not involve cookies or https or anything too complicated. The domain is redirected in my C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file. However, I would like the request from urllib2 to go to the "real" domain and ignore the entry in the hosts file. Is there any easy and practical way to do this?

  • Authlogic OpenID: Fetching E-Mail from Provider.

    - by Shripad K
    This is a really weird problem: I have set up the authlogic_openid_selector_example app. When i register, the email id is not returned by the openid provider the first time. But if i delete the account and register again, the email id is returned. But this doesn't seem to be happening in the example hosted here: http://big-glow-mama.heroku.com/. How do i fix this problem? Has this got to do with caching? I have hosted my version of the app here: http://pingauthtest.heroku.com/ I guess the author of authlogic_openid_selector_example app (@holden) has forgotten to commit new changes. :) I looked at my development log and the first time the provider doesn't return the openid.ext1.value.ext0 which contains the email id. This is returned the second time only after having deleted the account first. Edit: This is some extra info for debugging: THIS IS WHEN IT REGISTERS: OpenIdAuthentication::Association Load (5.3ms) SELECT * FROM "open_id_authentication_associations" WHERE ("open_id_authentication_associations"."server_url" = E'https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/ud') Generated checkid_setup request to https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/ud with assocication AOQobUde_9BUnQsk91rb_Sf9tguJ-S7Gpkwahc-nvDGDYAC8nphisNqu Redirected to https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/ud? openid.assoc_handle=AOQobUde_9BUnQsk91rb_Sf9tguJ-S7Gpkwahc-nvDGDYAC8nphisNqu &openid.ax.mode=fetch_request &openid.ax.required=ext0 &openid.ax.type.ext0=http%3A%2F%2Faxschema.org%2Fcontact%2Femail &openid.claimed_id=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select &openid.identity=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select &openid.mode=checkid_setup &openid.ns=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0 &openid.ns.ax=http%3A%2F%2Fopenid.net%2Fsrv%2Fax%2F1.0 &openid.ns.sreg=http%3A%2F%2Fopenid.net%2Fextensions%2Fsreg%2F1.1 &openid.realm=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A3000%2F &openid.return_to=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A3000%2Faccount%3Ffor_model%3D1%26_method%3Dpost%26open_id_complete%3D1 &openid.sreg.required=email Completed in 3574ms (DB: 14) | 302 Found [http://localhost/account] THIS IS WHEN IT USES SESSIONS: OpenIdAuthentication::Association Load (5.3ms) SELECT * FROM "open_id_authentication_associations" WHERE ("open_id_authentication_associations"."server_url" = E'https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/ud') Generated checkid_setup request to https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/ud with assocication AOQobUde_9BUnQsk91rb_Sf9tguJ-S7Gpkwahc-nvDGDYAC8nphisNqu Redirected to https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/ud? openid.assoc_handle=AOQobUde_9BUnQsk91rb_Sf9tguJ-S7Gpkwahc-nvDGDYAC8nphisNqu &openid.ax.mode=fetch_request &openid.claimed_id=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select &openid.identity=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select &openid.mode=checkid_setup &openid.ns=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0 &openid.ns.ax=http%3A%2F%2Fopenid.net%2Fsrv%2Fax%2F1.0 &openid.ns.sreg=http%3A%2F%2Fopenid.net%2Fextensions%2Fsreg%2F1.1 &openid.realm=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A3000%2F &openid.return_to=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A3000%2Fuser_session%3Ffor_session%3D1%26_method%3Dpost%26open_id_complete%3D1 Completed in 2708ms (DB: 15) | 302 Found [http://localhost/user_session]

  • How can I use Apache to reverse proxy a dynamic url

    I want a user to be able to load a url in their browser, but not get redirected: http://example.com/abc/{var1}/{var2}/def I want the example.com apache 2.2 server to take that request, and "invisibly" and without redirect reverse proxy it to: http://other.example.com/abc/{var1}/{var2}/def I have spent hours trying different combinations of RewriteRule, ProxyPass, ProxyPassMatch, and ProxyPassReverse, all to no avail. Here is my current attempt, which seems to do a redirect to /test instead of an invisible proxy. RewriteRule ^/abc/([^/\.]+)/([^/\.]+)/def/?$ /test/abc/$1/$2/def [P] ProxyPass /test http://other.example.com/ ProxyPassReverse /test http://other.example.com/

    Is there a way to construct a URL that when the user is redirected to, displays the report. I am running Crystal Enterperise server 11. I have created a folder in which the report exists. I can want to know what the URL should be. I am running the Tomcat web/application server that came with Crystal Enterprise server 11. I can get the token so that the user does not have to login.

    Hello, I am using the below mentioned library to create a barcode which is storing in a specified location as shown below: My question is, is there a way instead of saving it to a png file I get byte data? thanks Code39 code = new Code39("10090");
