  • Sharing files with Android devices (How do I mount an HP Touchpad, Cyanogen Mod 9?)

    I've recently installed Cyanogen Mod 9 on my HP Touchpad tablet, but I'm encountering problems when trying to access it from my Ubuntu laptop (Ubuntu 11.10, Gnome-Shell, Nautilus). I've first tried accessing it via PTP as suggested here. Ubuntu will recognize the Touchpad as a digicam and only grant me access to two directories: "DCIM" and "Pictures". I then tried accessing the tablet via MTP using this post on OMGUbuntu!. Ubuntu will connect to the tablet, but only grant me access to a folder named "Playlists". I'm a bit clueless as to what I'm doing wrong and would very much appreciate any help or hints. Many thanks!

    i have a hp dv6 6154tx with an integrated Intel GPU and a discrete ATI GPU (Radeon Mobility HD 6490M (1 GB DDR5)). -Problems: when i install ubuntu 12.10 using wubi, my laptop starts heating, fans start to run fast (to much of noise), and battery goes really low Any attempt to install catalyst drivers (from ati official site and also proprietary drivers) fails , as after reboot when i login everything is gone like no unity no desktop and sometimes black screen appears. even bumblebee and jupiter didnt help.... :( So PLEASE, PLEASE can somebody post the real solution to my problems i.e.(inc battery life and stop fan noise and heating). (i want to install ubuntu only using wubi)

  • How to make Bumblebee work with HP Pavilion DV6T-7000 Quad Edition with Intel HD 4000 and Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 2GB?

    I just recently bought a HP DV6T-7000 Quad Edition. It has an Intel HD 4000 and a Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 2GB with Optimus. I read that I could use bumblebee to make optimus work, so I installed it. I also installed bumblebee-nvidia and nvidia-current from the ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates ppa. I rebooted, but when I tried to run anything with optirun, the computer would wait ten seconds or so, then do a hard shutdown. I got no log messages from bumblebee, Xorg, or optirun, either. I have purged and reinstalled bumblebee, bumblebee-nvidia, and nvidia-current. I have also set the turned off power management in the bumblebee.conf file to no avail. I am out of ideas about this, and I need both options. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

  • How can I connect my USB (HP) printer in 10.4, which can't be discovered and worked in 9.x

    My printer was working under 9.x. It is a an hp photosmart C3100 series. When I open the Admin- printing. no local printers are found. I try to add via other (My local choices are Serial and other). I have tried many uri's - ipp://localhost:631/ipp, http://localhost/ipp, localhost, 127.0.0.1, etc... None have worked. Under the networked I have tried JetDirect, using localhost and 127.0.0.1 and port 631. I have tried many options under IPP with different variants in the host trying to verify a printer. No luck. I tried LPD/LPR with localhost and tried the probe. no luck. I tried the cups admin via localhost:631 and that didn't work. On the old version its simply found the local printer, I might have picked the driver, I can't remember but it was the photosmart c3100 series that was working. I just can't get 10.4 to print.

    I have uncovered another problem in the effort that we are making to port several hundreds of ksh scripts from AIX, Solaris and HPUX to Linux. See here for the previous problem. This code: #!/bin/ksh if [ -a k* ]; then echo "Oh yeah!" else echo "No way!" fi exit 0 (when run in a directory with several files whose name starts with k) produces "Oh yeah!" when called with the AT&T ksh variants (ksh88 and ksh93). On the other hand it produces and error message followed by "No way!" on the other ksh variants (pdksh, MKS ksh and bash). Again, my question are: Is there an environment variable that will cause pdksh to behave like ksh93? Failing that: Is there an option on pdksh to get the required behavior?

These contents are arranged in descending order 172-18-zfs MKTLAB NFSVOL datastore1 datastore1(1) after clicking on column header it get sort in asceding order & order is like this datastore1(1) datastore1 NFSVOL MKTLAB 172-18-zfs Through QTP i want to check whether this sortig is correct or not. I have used sort() method of dictionary but it doesnt give expected result. It just sort according to alphabatical order. In expected sorting order 1st priority should be to small letter then to capital letter then to number.

    I'm using Windows 7 on my HP ProBook 4250s. The problem I face is that my system halts for a fraction of second after every 2-3 seconds. These jerks are not letting me concentrate or work properly. This happens even when I'm just typing in notepad while no other application is running. I tried to install every driver from HP's website and there's no item in device manager marked with yellow icon.   • Need to hookup HP dv7-3085dx with Nvidia GeForce GT 230M to my Dell 30 inch LCD 3007WFP at max resol

    I recently bought an HP laptop (dv7-3085dx) (http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-pavilion-dv7-3085dx/4505-3121_7-33776108.html) which is supposed to have a pretty good video card (NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M). The card is supposed to output a max resolution of 2560x1600 which is also the max resolution of my monitor (http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2006/02/dell_3007wfp_on_dell_2001fp_action_8_megapixel_desktop.html). Now I bought an HDMI to dual link dvi (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KKLYDK/ref=oss_product) cable...this is after Best Buy's 70 dollar hdmi to dvi (perhaps it was 'single' link?) didn't give me the best resolution. In windows 7, when I try to set the max resolution for my 30 in monitor, I only get 1280x800...which is absurd. The monitor is great, I love the laptop and the video card supposedly supports such resolutions. So I can't figure out why I'm not getting better resolution (by the way, when i "detect" my monitor in windows 7, it is shown correctly as DELL 3007WFP!).

I want to track the usage like: Who (IP Address) initiated the print task Time Status: Success or Failure How many Pages Color or Gray Scale etc. I checked the manuals and nothing about this requirement is available. The built-in control panel log displays only last 10 activities. Is there a way to track these information? Is there an API avaialble so that I can make an application myself?

  • Can I run Linux on the HP Mini from Verizon Wireless, with a built-in 3G modem, and connect using the built in modem?

    I apologize if my question made little sense, I am very tired at the moment. Anyway, Recently I purchases the HP Mini from Verizon Wireless. It runs on the Intel Atom processor and came with Windows 7 Starter Edition, which is quite possibly the worst and most restrictive OS I have ever used. I plan on installing CRUX, after doing a little research on minimal, free, Linux operating systems, as I am working on web programming using Python, among other things. My only worry is that, because my HP Mini uses a built in wireless card (and I have no wifi connection, only a 3G connection) that has a "mobile access" connection to Verizon wireless, I am not sure if after installing CRUX that I would still be able to connect using this option. I have never used Linux before, and am hoping this will work. So if anybody has experience with this...please answer, can I connect to vzw 3G with linux, using an internal mobile access card...

I was hoping that there would be some drivers available under windows 7, but it doesn't seem to be recognised by the OFED software which would seem to contain windows drivers.     Is there any way to run higher than 1080p resolution from a Dell XPS 15/17 or HP Pavilion laptop? Specifically, I am planning to buy Dell XPS L721X or HP Pavilion dv7-7005tx with nvidia GeForce GT 650M and connect it to the Apple LED Cinema display via mini Displayport (I don't think Thunderbolt is supported on these notebooks). The idea is to get 1080p on the notebook and 2560x1440 on the main display. Only one of the montitors is active at any time. I asked Dell and they weren't of much help.

(I guess back-referencing force reload sub entities. Am I right?) def get_hp(self): hp = 0 for group in self.groups: group_hp = 0 for unit in group.units: group_hp += unit.hp hp += group_hp return hp How can I optimize this code? Please consider that there are more properties should be computed for each force/unit-groups and I don't want to save these collective properties to each entities. :)

    I am facing this issue on Ubuntu 12.04, which is for my Wimax modem with beceem chipset. If I replug the device Ubuntu goes in hang state. Its happens very often. If I plug the USB and restart it works most of the time. But it is very annoying to restart every time it hangs. The modem works smoothly in Windows 7. And it used to work OK in Ubuntu 11.10.     How do game engine entities communicate? Two use cases: How would entity_A send a take-damage message to entity_B? How would entity_A query entity_B's HP? Here's what I've encountered so far: Message queue entity_A creates a take-damage message and posts it to entity_B's message queue. entity_A creates a query-hp message and posts it to entity_B. entity_B in return creates an response-hp message and posts it to entity_A. Publish/Subscribe entity_B subscribes to take-damage messages (possibly with some preemptive filtering so only relevant message are delivered). entity_A produces take-damage message that references entity_B. entity_A subscribes to update-hp messages (possibly filtered). Every frame entity_B broadcasts update-hp messages. Signal/Slots ??? entity_A connects an update-hp slot to entity_B's update-hp signal. Something better? Do I have a correct understanding of how these communication schemes would tie into a game engine's entity system? How do entities in commercial game engines communicate?

    I can print to my HP printer via the LAN when I'm not connected to the VPN. When connected to the VPN, printing fails. I've tested with no rules (i.e., no firewall). The printing problem happens when the VPN is connected. I can guess it is an mdns problem, but searching google about mdns didn't turn up anything that seemed related to this (at my level of knowledge). Any suggestions?

  • HP ML350 G4 - do the XEON processors need heat sink compound?

    I pulled the heat sinks off a HP ML350 G4 and there appears to be no heat sink compound between the processor and the heat sink surfaces. It looks like the point at which they make contact is actually metal on the processor which is a good conductor anyway. Perhaps the compound is only needed when the processor has a ceramic top instead of a metal one? Anyone know?

To the enterence of my computer after installation i have menu that i can to choose between windows or ubuntu. Today I reistall my windows, but choose menu disapear. I dont see in windows the rdisk part that I give to Ubuntu, soo its mean ubuntu still exist but i cant enter to him. Please help me, Thanks

  • Possible to bypass laptop inverter power source - HP dv5000 inverter 7 input pins?

    I've got an HP dv5000 laptop with a backlight that won't light up, (but is known to be good). I've also got an inverter board which is good, but isn't getting power from the mobo. So, my question is, would it be possible to bypass the original power source, and hack together some type of externally powered input just for the backlight? If so, does anybody know the input voltage and meaning for the 7 input pins for the inverter board, or how to find out?
