• Performing multiple fetches in Core Data within the same view

  I have my CD store setup and everything is working. Once my initial fetch is performed, I need to perform several fetches based on calculations using the data from my first fetch. The examples provided from Apple are great, and helped me get everything going but I'm struggling with executing successive fetches. Any suggestions, or tutorial links are appreciated. Table View loads data from CD store. When a user taps a row it pushes a detail view The detail view loads details from CD. [THE ABOVE STEPS ARE ALL WORKING] I perform several calculations on the data fetched in the detail view. I need to then perform several other fetches based on the results of my calculations.

• Creating controls in ASP with dynamic IDs

  Hi, I'm creating a chat widget that will be dropped into CommunityServer. The widget works great, but I just discovered that if I drop two of these widgets onto the same page, only one of them works! And I'm quite certain the reason is because the chat window is defined in ASP, and now there are two instances of the chat window, with the same ID, on the same page. I am doing this with straight ASP & Javascript (not by choice), so my chat window is defined as: <telerik:RadListBox ID="rlbMessages" runat="server" > (don't mind that it's a telerik control). So I was hoping I could do something like this: <telerik:RadListBox ID="<%= 'rlbMessages' + chatRoomID %>" runat="server" > But from what I've gathered, apparently you can't assign ID's this way? What is the alternative?

• How to programmatically deactivate the AirPort?

  I want to make a small utility to programmatically deactivate the AirPort of my mac. I have networking problems which couldnt be resolved by expensive experts. I need to deactivate and reactivate the mac AirPort once every half hour. So a little utility which does that automatically would be great. I think I wouldn't need an UI for this either. Just the most simple possible kind of application to automatically stop and start the AirPort. Maybe even apple automator code?

• Extending ClaimsIdentity in MVC3

  I've got my claims set-up with MVC3 using azure and everything is going well. What I need to do now is extend the Claims Identity that's in the current thread / http context and add my own information (DOB, Address.. that sort of stuff) so my question is - where is the best place to do this? any examples would be great.. I presume that when the user is authenticated id then have to go to the DB and pull back the relevant record for the user then add it to the custom Claims Identity object? cheers. ste.

After reading, I have found how to add resources, but I don't want the resource to be an attachment, I want it to be the actual text. • Best Practices for a Web App Staging Server (on a budget)

  I'd like to set up a staging server for a Rails app. I use git & github, Cap, and have a VPS with Apache/Passenger. I'm curious as to the best practices for a staging setup, as far as both the configuration of the staging server as well as the processes for interacting with it. I do know it should be as identical to the production server as possible, but restricting public access to it will limit that, so tips on securing it only for my use would also be great. Another specific question would be whether I could just create a virtual host on the VPS, so that the staging server could reside alongside the production one. I have a feeling there may be reasons to avoid this, though.

  Good afternoon, I'm sorry that this isn't a programming question specifically, but stackoverflow has been great at answering questions in the past, so I thought I'd give it a shot. One of our Linux users attempted to install Cygwin on our Windows Server 2008 Domain Controller. Now it is no longer possible to browse the domain and see all of the computers. For example, \\my_domain_name will just bring up a username/password dialog box (that will not accept any username or password, even the domain administrator) and no computers will ever be listed. However, I can still connect to computers based on their name or IP address. So \\eridanus or \\192.168.1.85 still work to connect to the shared directories of computers on our network. Does anyone know where I can find these settings? and how I can fix this problem? Thanks, Giawa

Gmail.com). i want once he click the submit button.a jQuery script check these login info on gmail.com and return back the result.they are wrong or working logins. and notify the user if it is wrong logins but if it is good working login info the form will submit. i don't know much jQuery but i am good with php. my search find that in order to do that i need to make cross-domain scripting by using php proxy between my jQuery script and the remote domain. i found also the simple php proxy. which looks great.but i dont know how to make the jQuery thing that connects all this together.

• Can FLV AAC stream be played in Android

  Hi, I'm trying to build a radio player and the client is providing a stream which is a FLV container with the audio being AAC When I read the headers it shows up as audio/aacp. I have tried all possible ways such as using the 1) Streaming through mediaplayer (Does not work) 2) Use the NPR mode of using a proxy stream (I get a broken pipe exception) 3) Play it in chunks ( Plays but I need the SDCard and the playback is not very great) 4) Use the GPL'd FAAD2 Library but I would have to pay the royalty fee Can some one help me out on figuring this issue out. The FC figures out what page you want, loads the specific page Controller (*EDIT* which extends an abstract Controller Object */EDIT*), which gets anything it needs from Models, and then calls the appropriate View. Very basic. But now, I need to make an admin section (quasi-CMS). How does a login system fit into the grand scheme of things? Do you set controllers as needing a login? If so, how? What If you only want certain views of a controller requiring login? Thanks in advance.

How easy and convenient is python for scientific computing? Does it have a library of algorithms that compares to matlab's? Is Python a scripting language or does it compile? Is it a great language for prototyping an algorithm? How long would it take me to learn enough of it to be productive provided I know C well and OO programming somewhat? Is it OO based? I have a property called EntryType which is an int. There are 2 available numbers 1 or 2 Lets say I had 3 items that my query is working with 2 of them had the EntryType = 1 and the 3rd had EntryType2. The first records had a ItemAmount of 55.00 and the 3rd had a ItemAmount of 50.00 How can I group using something simlar to above but minus the ItemAmount of 50.00 from the grouped amount to return 60.00? Any help would be great!!

  We currently use Cradiator to display the status of our continuous integration (CI) builds from CruseControl.net, on a 42" Samsung television on display high-up in our IT department. Cradiator is a great starting place, but we're getting to the point whereby we're having lots of projects on there and it's starting to get a bit 'full'. What I'd like to know is, what do you use to display your build statuses? Custom software? Off the shelf stuff? etc. Alternatively, I'm looking for ideas on how we improve on Cradiator.

• PHP: creating a smooth edged circle, image or font?

  I'm making a PHP image script that will create circles at a given radius. I used: <?php imagefilledellipse ( $image, $cx, $cy, $w, $h, $color ); ?> but hate the rough edges it produces. So I was thinking of making or using a circle font that I will output using: <?php imagettftext ( $image, $size, $angle, $x, $y, $color, 'fontfile.ttf', $text ); ?> So that the font will produce a circle that has a smooth edge. My problem is making the "font size" match the "radius size". Any ideas? Or maybe a PHP class that will produce a smooth edge on a circle would be great! Thank you.

• PHP/Apache Deny folder access to user but not to script

  Hey all, So I have this php web app, and one of my folder contains some files that can be downloaded. I have a download script that modifies the headers, in order to always offer a download link. (instead of showing a picture for example, when you click on a link, a download box pops out) Right now, if you enter a url like: http://www.mywebsite.com/content/ You get the listing of all the downloadable files, and of course, you can just download them all, without going through the website interface. Personally, I don't think it's a problem, since I often use downthemall or other downloading tool, and this type of access is a great time saver.... But of course my company does not think so :-p They want people to use the interface in order to view the Ads... Would they be a way, maybe with a protected .htaccess, to leave the folder access to my download script, but deny access to the users...? I hope I am making sense and you know what I mean :) All help/remarks appreciated!

• Generating dynamic C# based on textual data into the runtime?

  Is there a quick and easy way to load textual C# into a program. I would like to load the LINQ from the database as an Expression and run it against some data (SQL or Array/List don't mind). I know I can do it using the C# CodeDom/ExpressionTree builder with Assembly Loading and Creating AppDomains, but this seems very long winded. Is there an easier way. I thought with the advent of .net 3.5 that the ExpressionTree would come to my aid, but I now realise that I have to write a parser to use this. Maybe there is a new trick in 4.0? Something along the lines of a dynamic languages Parse would be great. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have a PageController witch go see if the page exist in the DB and if it don't I return to a 404 view with the status code 404 (Response.StatusCode = 404;) How can I reproduce the same behavior live? Do I need to setup something on IIS? I'm on winserver 2008 using c# and MVC 1.0. Thanks for the help!

• SQL Compare-Like tool for Oracle?

  We're a .NET team which uses the Oracle DB for a lot of reasons that I won't get into. But deployment has been a bitch. We are manually keeping track of all the changes to the schema in each version, by keeping a record of all the scripts that we run during development. Now, if a developer forgets to check-in his script to the source control after he ran it - which is not that rare - at the end of the iteration we get a great big headache. I hear that SQL Compare by Red-Gate might solve these kind of issues, but it only has SQL Server support. Anybody knows of a similar tool for Oracle? I've been unable to find one.

  I found this question which is a great starting point towards creating embedded widgets that enable showing dynamic content on remote sites (i.e. a different domain). One problem I'm having is with the following code: public ActionResult SomeAction() { return new JsonpResult { Data = new { Widget = "some partial html for the widget" } }; } It says Widget = "some partial html for the widget" but this doesn't really mean anything to me. I assume that Widget would contain the HTML representing what the user wants to see on the screen, but How do I get the contents of my Partial View into Widget?   Don't worry, I'm not going to ask that question, yet again... I am wanting to create my own programming language, just for learning sake. I don't want anything other than possibly a few links to head me into the right direction. MSDN Documentation on C# that is specific to what is required to create a language would be great! For the time being, all I am wanting to create is a very simple language that allows me to Create a Form, add a control to it, give that control a location, and maybe even some properties like a Text property, or maybe even a Color property.   Hi, I could not find an errata for the 2nd edition of this book. My question concerns the if-statement in the following piece of code. void removeHead (Node ** head) { Node * temp; if (!(*head)) { temp = (*head)->next; delete *head; *head = temp; } } So I understand that the point of the if-statement is to check if the Node is null. However by adding an additional "!" to the evaluation, wouldn't this negate the false value of null? Would it be correct to change it to something like: if (*head) { ... } Also if anyone knows where I can find an official errata for the 2nd edition that would be great. Thanks, Sam
