  • Time is updating when a form is not even running

    A co-worker of mine had downloaded a vb example project a while back to see how to make a call or two, he discovered it today again, and noticed that while sitting in the IDE the time/date is updating automatically when the entire project is not even running. How does this work, we looked around for code but can't find anything giving it away. Any ideas?

In this project they often use syntax like the following to check arguments for null: public GenericRepository(IQueryableContext context,ITraceManager traceManager) { if (context == (IQueryableContext)null) throw new ArgumentNullException("context", Resources.Messages.exception_ContainerCannotBeNull); Why would you cast null to the type of the object you are checking for null?

  • Java compilation with two versions of Eclipse

    I've got an old project in Eclipse 2.1 and compiled with a JDK 1.4.2_12. I want to upgrade the version of Eclipse to Eclipse Galileo. I've imported my project and set the compilation level to 1.4 and I've also updated my build path to use the correct JDK. The problem is that when I compare the compiled files in the classes folder in the two versions of Eclipse, the MD5 checksum are different. Should I be worried about that fact or this is normal?

    I'm opening a 2005 SSIS pakage and also an old C# project..both are in this solution here. I'm missing namespaces and I can't find the assemblies to add back to my references folder for my C# Project Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline for example is not one I find in the list of references in the .NET references tab. So how the hell do I get these SQL Server assemblies? Do I have to install the SQL Server 2008 sdk? Lost.

    Is there a way to embed multiple dependent assemblies into a single one for projects written on the following platform types: Windows Store Apps, Windows Phone 8, Portable Class Library? I know that for regular .Net projects there is ILMerge, but on the aforementioned project types it doesn't work. Embedding assemblies as resources and then manually resolving the references using AppDomain.CurrentDomain.AssemblyResolve is not possible either, since AppDomain is not available in these types of project.

I can't seem to get the same behavour out of my own code (in the same project - same CSS etc) What might be stopping this from occuring? Update I believe this relates to one of my other questions Because I was having trouble with NullReferenceExceptions I have changed the Html.ValidationMessage fields to have different names than the target fields.     The stdint.h header at my company reads: #define INT64_MIN -9223372036854775808LL But in some code in my project, a programmer wrote: #undef INT64_MIN #define INT64_MIN (-9223372036854775807LL -1) He then uses this definition in the code. The project compiles with no warnings/errors. When I attempted to remove his definition and use the default one, I got: error: integer constant is so large that it is unsigned The two definitions appear to be equivalent. Why does one compile fine and the other fails?
