  • run buildbot on Windows XP

    - by chrmue
I recently stumbled over buildbot and wanted to give it a try. My problem is that I have to run it under Windows because we don't use Linux on workstations or servers in my company. I've already tried different installations: python 2.6, Twisted-9.0.0-py2.6, buildbot 0.7.12 python 2.6, pywin32-214-py2.6, Twisted-9.0.0-py2.6, buildbot 0.7.12 python 2.4, pywin32-214-py2.4, Twisted-9.0.0-py2.4, buildbot 0.7.12 and tried to run it in a Windows XP VM. In all installations I ran the buildbot test suite and got several errors and the buildbot documentation sais that no test should fail. Does anybody here have experience with buildbot under Windows? Is it worth the pain or do I have to use Linux?

  • Why are my RSpec specs running twice?

    - by James A. Rosen
I have the following RSpec (1.3.0) task defined in my Rakefile: require 'spec/rake/spectask' Spec::Rake::SpecTask.new(:spec) do |spec| spec.libs << 'lib' << 'spec' spec.spec_files = FileList['spec/**/*_spec.rb'] end I have the following in spec/spec_helper.rb: require 'rubygems' require 'spec' require 'spec/autorun' require 'rack/test' require 'webmock/rspec' include Rack::Test::Methods include WebMock require 'omniauth/core' I have a single spec declared in spec/foo/foo_spec.rb: require File.dirname(__FILE__) + '/../spec_helper' describe Foo do describe '#bar' do it 'be bar-like' do Foo.new.bar.should == 'bar' end end end When I run rake spec, the single example runs twice. I can check it by making the example fail, giving me two red "F"s. One thing I thought was that adding spec to the SpecTask's libs was causing them to be double-defined, but removing that doesn't seem to have any effect.

  • Load data from CSV to mySQL database Java+hibernate+spring

    - by mona
I am trying to load a CSV file in to mySQL database using Java+Hibernate+Spring. I am using the following query in the DAO to help me load in to the database: entityManager.createQuery("LOAD DATA INFILE :fileName INTO TABLE test").setParameter("fileName", "C:\\samples\\test\\abcd.csv").executeUpdate(); I got some idea to use this from http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/load-data.html and how to import a csv file into a mysql from an hibernate+spring application? But I am getting the error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: node to traverse cannot be null! Please help! Thanks

  • Dealing with blackhat SEO companies and low quality link building competitors [closed]

    - by Mikko Ohtamaa
I have often faced a case where the competitors of my client use SEO blackhat tactics where they contact a SEO company to do link building for their websites and products. Here is an example of a typical case of a fake blog created only for link building purposes A very low content article http://marshallfab.com/fundus-camera-explained.html in obvious fake blog: no author information, partially machine generated text, all blog posts are solely about link building Following the link you get to the promoted company page http://www.patternless.com/ ... which, unsurprisingly, links the SEO company homepage in the footer text http://www.affordableseofl.com/ ... who are not shy to advertise their Extremely aggressive SEO plan Does Google have any feedback channel where one could submit cases like this, so that Google would punish the link builders? Are there any means to bring these blackhat companies to pushame to damage their reputation?

  • How to view ASMX SOAP using Fiddler2?

    - by outer join
Does anyone know if Fiddler can display the raw SOAP messages for ASMX web services? I'm testing a simple web service using both Fiddler2 and Storm and the results vary (Fiddler shows plain xml while Storm shows the SOAP messages). • Authenticating users for a website

    - by MCB
I'm working on a website and I want to validate that an individual is an employee at one of a large number of companies (probably using their company's email address, which I don't know before hand). The idea being some users are the general public and others are from these companies. And I need some way to authenticate that the users claiming to be employees are being honest while still having a friendly enough UI. I did an informal survey of people I know and the domains and emails will match in a majority of cases but they might not always match exactly so you might have a company with a website foo.com and an email [email protected] (although foobar.com did redirect back to foo.com). And while I can easily check that I'm not sure what other variations might be out there (maybe fooLA.com and email [email protected], etc.)

  • Pass associative arrays in call_user_func_array(...)

    - by Matt
Hey all, I'm building a templating system and I'm running in to an issue with calling functions on the fly. When I try the following: $args = array( 4, 'test' => 'hello', 'hi' ); You know.. some numerical elements some associative elements, call_user_func_array($function, $args); converts the array to something like this: $args = array( 4, 'hello', 'hi' ); Is there any way around this other than passing an array like this: $args = array( 4, array('test' => 'hello'), 'hi' ); Thanks! • assembly language programming (prime number)

    - by chris
Prompt the user for a positive three digit number, then read it. Let's call it N. Divide into N all integer values from 2 to (N/2)+1 and test to see if the division was even, in which case N is instantly shown to be non-prime. Output a message printing N and saying that it is not prime. If none of those integer values divide evenly (remainder never is zero), then N is shown to be prime. Output a message printing N and saying that it is prime. Ask the user if he or she wants to test another number; if the user types "n" or "N", quit. If "y" or "Y", jump back and repeat. Comments in your code are essential. Hi. I am kinda in rush to do this.. please help me doing it. I'll be much appreciated. thank you

  • Webserver parsing chrome input from post request

    - by ravenspoint
    I am developing a small embedded web server. I want to add parsing of post requests, but I am having a problem with input password fields from Chrome. Firefox and IE work perfectly. The HTML: <form action=start.webem method=post> <input value="START" type=submit /><!--#webem start --> <p>Password: <input TYPE=PASSWORD name=yourname AUTOCOMPLETE=OFF /><br> </form> From Firefox I get POST /stop.webem HTTP/1.1 Host: 127.0.0.1:8080 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100315 Firefox/3.5.9 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 300 Connection: keep-alive Referer: http://127.0.0.1:8080/ Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Content-Length: 13 yourname=test However from Chrome, about 90% of the time, the yourname=test is missing POST /start.webem HTTP/1.1 Host: 127.0.0.1:8080 Connection: keep-alive User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.1.249.1045 Safari/532.5 Referer: http://127.0.0.1:8080/ Content-Length: 13 Cache-Control: max-age=0 Origin: http://127.0.0.1:8080 Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Accept: application/xml,application/xhtml+xml,text/html;q=0.9,text/plain;q=0.8,image/png,*/*;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate,sdch Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.8 Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3 Though, occasionally it does work!!!   • Why is using C++ libraries is so complicated?

    - by Pius
First of all, I want to note I love C++ and I'm one of those people who thinks it is easier to code in C++ than Java. Except for one tiny thing: libraries. In Java you can simply add some jar to the build path and you're done. In C++ you usually have to set multiple paths for the header files and the library itself. In some cases, you even have to use special build flags. I have mainly used Visual Studio, Code Blocks and no IDE at all. All 3 options do not differ much when talking about using external libraries. I wonder why was there made no simpler alternative for this? Like having a special .zip file that has everything you need in one place so the IDE can do all the work for you setting up the build flags. Is there any technical barrier for this?

  • standardize international phone no. code using only regex

    - by DarkFox
Sipdroid on Android has a search & replace method, that uses regex. I'm trying to use it to make sure all outgoing calls has a country code in the format 00XX I also want it to put 0045 in front of the number, if no country code is present. The first one, I have solved, but I can't figure out how to do the second thing. Search: \A(((\+)(\d{2})?)|(00(\d{2})?)|)((\d|\s)+)\Z Replace: 00$4$6$7 I'm using http://www.regexplanet.com/simple/index.html to test it, with the test strings: "12345678", "+4512345678" and "004512345678" They should all return "004512345678".

  • Is it bad practice to pass instances through several layers?

    - by Puckl
In my program design, I often come to the point where I have to pass object instances through several classes. For example, if I have a controller that loads an audio file, and then passes it to a player, and the player passes it to the playerRunnable, which passes it again somewhere else etc. It looks kind of bad, but I don´t know how to avoid it. Or is it OK to do this? EDIT: Maybe the player example is not the best because I could load the file later, but in other cases that does not work.

  • Difficulty thinking of properties for FsCheck

    - by Benjol
I've managed to get xUnit working on my little sample assembly. Now I want to see if I can grok FsCheck too. My problem is that I'm stumped when it comes to defining test properties for my functions. Maybe I've just not got a good sample set of functions, but what would be good test properties for these functions, for example? //transforms [1;2;3;4] into [(1,2);(3,4)] pairs : 'a list -> ('a * 'a) list //' //splits list into list of lists when predicate returns // true for adjacent elements splitOn : ('a -> 'a -> bool) -> 'a list -> 'a list list //returns true if snd is bigger sndBigger : ('a * 'a) -> bool (requires comparison)

  • How To Prevent Your Computer From Waking Up Accidentally

    - by Chris Hoffman
If you find your Windows computer waking from sleep for no apparent reason, your computer is either being woken up by a hardware device – such as your mouse — or scheduled task set to wake your computer. In some cases, the cause may not be obvious. For example, if your laptop occasionally wakes up for no apparent reason, it’s possible that the floor is shaking a bit, causing the mouse to vibrate slightly and wake the computer. • Is Android AVD's firewall somehow more restricted to real Android firewall?

    - by hhh
I have a TCP server running in AVD and a TCP client running in AVD. AVD client dies because the connection refused so we are doubting some restricted firewall settings. I turned off the firewall in my Debian -laptop with this here but it did not fix the problem so some issue with Android -emulator, intro here. How can I make a TCP connection from one AVD to another AVD in the same laptop in Android? Grap the code & Minimal Working Example: You can find the sources here: import to Eclipse, set up two pieces of 2.3.3 AVDs, set up Test-running-configurations for server and client. Then "Run as Configuration" and you should see this bug. I don't have a physical Android -phone to test the code so I cannot comment whether it works with real Androids.

  • How to avoid mediocre CV.

    - by QriousCat
Though in every project we (testers) face different set challenges, when it comes to CV, more or less we have same responsibilities. For example responsibilities like understanding requirements, preparing and executing test cases, creating defects, liaising with dev, BA teams will be repeated for every project we involve. If we keep writing same responsibilities for every role, CV becomes mediocre and a yarn. In fact most of the testing resumes I have come across are like that. How do I avoid repetition of responsibilities in my resume and make it more interesting? If this is not the correct forum for this question let me know. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

  • Saving Blob data from SQLite database to a file

    - by Felipe
Hello, I'm trying to save blob data from a SQLite database (Safari cache: Cache.db) to a file, but for some reason sqlite won't read the whole blob. I eventually would like to do this in ruby, but for now something that works directly in sqlite command prompt is fine. Also, I've read all of the entries that talk about this here on stackoverflow, but most of them only discuss the performance of saving images in blobs and the one entry that does show to save blobs to file is in C# which does not help me. Here is what I've tried: sqlite select * from cfurl_cache_response limit 1; 3501|0|945281827|0|http://www.gospelz.com/components/com_jomcomment/smilies/guest.gif|2010-02-24 16:20:07 sqlite select receiver_data from cfurl_cache_blob_data where entry_ID = 3501; GIF89a( A hexdump of the original (guest.gif) file shows that sqlite stops reading the blob after the first null value: $ hexdump -C guest.gif 00000000 47 49 46 38 39 61 28 00 28 00 f7 00 00 f1 f5 fd |GIF89a(.(.......| sqlite .output test.gif sqlite select receiver_data from cfurl_cache_blob_data where entry_ID = 3501; $ hexdump -C test.gif 00000000 47 49 46 38 39 61 28 0a |GIF89a(.|

  • JUnit - stop it from exiting on finish?

    - by waitinforatrain
Hi guys, Quick JUnit question. I'm running some unit tests that involve starting up the GUI and doing a load of stuff. I would like to see the results after the test to confirm it visually. However, it gets to the end of the code and exits, as it should. If I want to override this, I put a breakpoint on the last line of the test. This is pretty awkward though. Is there some option to stop it from exiting?

  • Setting amount of time to pass when sending emails in a loop

    - by Obay
Forgive me for this noob question, but is there such a setting that sets a certain amount of time (e.g. milli/seconds) that has to pass in between sending emails through a script? How is that setting called and where do I change that setting? I'll give an example: I used to have a PHP script that sends emails like so: for ($i=0; $i<count($emails); $i++) { mail($email[$i],'test','test'); } It turned out that not all emails were sent successfully because the script ran so fast that there was not enough time in between sending emails that was required by the server. Did I make sense?

  • moqing static method call to c# library class

    - by Joe
This seems like an easy enough issue but I can't seem to find the keywords to effect my searches. I'm trying to unit test by mocking out all objects within this method call. I am able to do so to all of my own creations except for this one: public void MyFunc(MyVarClass myVar) { Image picture; ... picture = Image.FromStream(new MemoryStream(myVar.ImageStream)); ... } FromStream is a static call from the Image class (part of c#). So how can I refactor my code to mock this out because I really don't want to provide a image stream to the unit test.

  • When to use identity comparison instead of equals?

    - by maaartinus
I wonder why would anybody want to use identity comparison for fields in equals, like here (Java syntax): class C { private A a; public boolean equals(Object other) { // standard boring prelude if (other==this) return true; if (other==null) return false; if (other.getClass() != this.getClass()) return false; C c = (C) other; // the relevant part if (c.a != this.a) return false; // more tests... and then return true; } // getter, setters, hashCode, ... } Using == is a bit faster than equals and a bit shorter (due to no need for null tests), too, but in what cases (if any) you'd say it's really better to use == for fields inside equals?
