• Java+DOM: How do I convert a DOM tree without namespaces to a namespace-aware DOM tree?

  Hello, everyone! I receive a Document (DOM tree) from a certain API (not in JDK). Sadly, this Document is not namespace-aware. As far as I know DOM, once generated, namespace-awareness can't be "added" afterwards. When converting this Document using a Transformer to a string, the XML is correct. Elements have xmlns:... attributes and name prefixes. But from the DOM point of view, there are no namespaces and no prefixes. I need to be able to convert this Document into a new Document which is namespace-aware. Yes, I could do this by just converting it to a string and back to DOM with namespaces enabled. But: nodes of the original tree have user-objects set. Converting to string and back would make a mapping of these user-objects to the new Document very complicated, if not impossible. So I really need a way to convert non-namespace DOM to namespace DOM. Are there any more-or-less straightforward solutions for this? Worst case (what I'm hoping to avoid) would be to manually iterate through old Document tree and create new namespace-aware Node for each old Node. Doing so, one had to manually "parse" namespace prefixes, watch out for xmlns-attributes, and maintain a mapping between prefixes and namespace-URIs. Lots of things to go wrong.

  Hello, I'm facing a frustrating issue. I have an application where the scroll wheel doesn't work in a JDialog class. • How to configure a system-wide package in osgi?

  I need to made available a library to some bundles. This library makes use of RMI, so it needs (as far as I know, at least) to use the system class loader in order to work (I tried to "osgi-fy" the library, which results in classcastexceptions at runtime). So what I did was to remove the dependencies from the bundles that use that library, compile them with the library included in the property jars.extra.classpath (in the build.properties of the eclipse project). • How do I synchronize access to shared memory in LynxOS/POSIX?

  I am implementing two processes on a LynxOS SE (POSIX conformant) system that will communicate via shared memory. One process will act as a "producer" and the other a "consumer". In a multi-threaded system my approach to this would be to use a mutex and condvar (condition variable) pair, with the consumer waiting on the condvar (with pthread_cond_wait) and the producer signalling it (with pthread_cond_signal) when the shared memory is updated. How do I achieve this in a multi-process, rather than multi-threaded, architecture? Is there a LynxOS/POSIX way to create a condvar/mutex pair that can be used between processes? Or is some other synchronization mechanism more appropriate in this scenario?

What I need to do is place data from the UI in the model, what I have done is write a method in the view which collects the required data in an object and then passes it to the model. The model then takes ownership of the data so that the view can release its ownership. Does this sound sensible?

  I am using IBM's Rational Application Developer. I have an ant script that contains the Java2WSDL task. When I run it via IBM, it gives compiler errors unless I include the j2ee.jar file in the classpath via the run tool (it does not pick up the jar files in the classpath in the script). However, I need to be able to call this script programmatically, and it is giving me this error: "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException" I'm not sure which jars need to be added or where? Since a simple echo script runs, I assume that it is the j2ee.jar or another ant jar that needs to be added. I've added it to the project's buildpath, but that doesn't help.   I'm using Symfony 1.4 and Doctrine. So far I had no problem running tasks with Symfony. But now that I have to import a pretty big amount of data and save them in the database, I get the infamous "Fatal Error: Allowed memory size of XXXX bytes exhausted" During this import I'm only creating new objects, setting a few fields and saving them. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the number of objects I'm creating when saving data. Unsetting those objects doesn't do anything though. Are there any best practices to limit memory usage in Symfony?

  Hello, everyone! As far as I know, things such as SortedMap or SortedSet, use compareTo (rather than equals) on Comparable<?> types for checking equality (contains, containsKey). But what if certain types are equatable by concept, but not comparable? I have to declare a Comparator<?> and override the method int compareTo(T o1, To2). OK, I can return 0 for instances which are considered equal. But, for unqeual instances, what do I return when an order is not evident? Is the approach of using SortedMap or SortedSet on equatable but (by concept) not comparable types good anyway? Thank you! EDIT: I don't want to store things sorted, but would I use "usual" Map and Set, I couldn't "override" the equality-behavior. EDIT 2: Why I can't just override equals(...): I need to alter the equality-behavior of a foreign class. Can't edit it. The column width (as the distance between two borders according to W3C Box Model) is 156 px even if padding is 0 or 4. Only the position of the text changes. According to W3C Box Model ( available at www.pro-turk.net/box_model.png ), borders and paddings aren't included in WIDTH attribute, so why does it render wrongly ? The second problem is, when you look the page I gave with IE8, the first cell in the second row has 150px fixed width, but ie shows it about 50% of the total table width regardless of what i say.

But if the thread is in a while loop, it will cause the heavy memory leak. As I use taskmanage I can see the memory is increasing.   I have a typical definition/instance situation in my data modeling. I'm trying to store the content_type of a GenericForeignKey in another model (the definition model) like so: class IndicatorFieldInstance(models.Model): definition = models.ForeignKey(IndicatorField) object_id = models.PositiveIntegerField() content_object = generic.GenericForeignKey(definition.content_type, 'object_id') indicator_instance = models.ForeignKey(IndicatorInstance) I've also tried it like this: content_object = generic.GenericForeignKey('definition__content_type', 'object_id') Neither of these methods seem to work. Is it possible to achieve this?   hello all i am facing problem in drawing dynamically in a picture box. i works very good when the drawing objects are few but as the drawing objects increases the response time of my GUI is getting worse and worse, my GUI works very well up to 90 drawing objects but i have to support more than 1000 so this technique didn't work for me. know i have decided to adopt layers mechanism, i mean i will draw different layers of drawing in memory and then XOR them to load the final image to my display. the question is "i Can play directly with memory do draw layers using C# (Examples needed?)" other ideas are also appreciated, (Drawing objects means the shapes line,circles etc. that i have to draw on my GUI) thanx in advance
