  I am new to Ubuntu. I follow the instruction from http://sourceware.org/systemtap/wiki/SystemtapOnUbuntu that is necessary to install SystemTap on Ubuntu. I lost in Step 4. How can i run step 4: ? • Logs are filling up with httpclient.wire.content dumps. How can I turn it off?

I searched every config file in both tomcat and apache for the statements that purportedly turn this on as described here: http://hc.apache.org/httpclient-3.x/logging.html And I don't see where this logging as been enabled. No other .war I deployed does this. The log4j configuration block in the app isn't doing it. Any ideas? I'm using an S3 library for grails that may be the source for these. However when I run this application on my development machine (in both develop and deploy configs), I'm not seeing it.

  Yes/no-question: Is there a Groovy GDK function to capitalize the first character of a string? I'm looking for a Groovy equivalent of Perl's ucfirst(..) or Apache Commons StringUtils.capitalize(str) (the latter capitalizes the first letter of all words in the input string). I'm currently coding this by hand using .. str = str[0].toUpperCase() + str[1 .. str.size() - 1] .. which works, but I assume there is a more Groovy way to do it. I'd imagine ucfirst(..) being a more common operation than say center(..) which is a standard method in the Groovy GDK (see http://groovy.codehaus.org/groovy-jdk/java/lang/String.html).

  I'm trying to use mikel gem mail on my 2.3.5 Rails App http://github.com/mikel/mail I have it working like this. I've made a MailComHelper, made a method like this : def self.welcome(user,password) @user = user m = Mail.new m.from = 'app@migos.org' m.to = @user.email m.subject = 'welcome' m.body = 'The body' m.delivery_method :sendmail m.deliver! end And it works, I receive the mail. But I wish I could use the old way of calling a view ( html.erb ) file and send that code has the body. I've read the documentation but haven't found a way to do it. Has anyone found a way to do it?

• Are there any other Java schedulers besides Quartz(FOSS) and Flux(Commercial)

  I am interested in finding out about other job scheduling packages besides Quartz and Flux. Given the plethora of web frameworks i find it perculiar that there is really only one scheduler. Are there others that perhaps are very much unknown/unpopular ? Spring Batch Not really a scheduling solution but rather a batch job coordinator etc. http://static.springsource.org/spring-batch/faq.html#schedulers How does Spring Batch differ from Quartz? Is there a place for them both in a solution? Spring Batch and Quartz have different goals. Spring Batch provides functionality for processing large volumes of data and Quartz provides functionality for scheduling tasks. So Quartz could complement Spring Batch, but are not excluding technologies. A common combination would be to use Quartz as a trigger for a Spring Batch job using a Cron expression and the Spring Core convenience SchedulerFactoryBean .

• Android bluetooth socket error

  I am using backport bluetooth api on android 1.6. I am using Google Bluetooth Chat sample app for testing. The app works fine in normal scenarios. In a scenario, when I try to connect to paired device which is in off state, I get following error. 01-04 09:00:11.629: ERROR/BluetoothEventLoop.cpp(84): onGetRemoteServiceChannelResult: D-Bus error: org.bluez.Error.ConnectionAttemptFailed (Host is down) 01-04 09:00:11.729: DEBUG/dalvikvm(128): GC freed 4535 objects / 256008 bytes in 296ms 01-04 09:00:21.880: ERROR/bluetooth_RfcommSocket.cpp(1433): connect error: Host is down (112) But it sets the state as connected. The app is unable to catch the exception. Why does it happen? Or is it the case with backport api? Any help is appreciated as I am struggling a lot to get things run fine.

• Workaround for richfaces combobox hotkey bug

  Hi, Does anyone know a workaround for the bug https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/RF-8076 ? Just to clarify things, we have a form with multiple inputs, one of them being a combobox with auto complete features. We've setup a hotkey via <rich:hotKey key="return" ... /> It works great everywhere except in the combobox, and I would really like to get it working on the combobox as well. The behaviour I want when the ENTER key is pressed inside the combobox is: If the combobox context was modified by auto complete then do nothing Else action the event on ENTER key pressed We're running on seam/richfaces. I'm open to any workaround, but simplicity is much sought for. Thanks!

The primary key will have to be reassigned in the process, but I'm getting the error NULL not allowed for column "SIMID".   I'm trying to understand type patterns and generic classes in Haskell but can't seem to get it. Could someone explain it in laymen's terms? In [1] I've read that "To apply functions generically to all data types, we view data types in a uniform manner: except for basic predefined types such as Float, IO, and ?, every Haskell data type can be viewed as a labeled sum of possibly labeled products." and then Unit, :*: and :+: are mentioned. Are all data types in Haskell automatically versions of the above mentioned and if so how do I figure out how a specific data type is represented in terms of :*:, etc? The users guide for generic classes (ch. 7.16) at haskell.org doesn't mention the predefined types but shouldn't they be handled in every function if the type patterns should be exhaustive? • Where can I find a tool to convert a VS solution to a gcc makefile?

  I know about CMake and bakefile already, but that is not what I am looking for. Is there a tool that will generate a makefile given a VC project? (or at least a first attempt at one) so I don't have to do all the work by hand? Alternatively, is there a tool that makes CMake files? Also I haven't seen any tags for the ZDK so please edit if something is more fitting!

• Accessing ArrayBuffer from PHP $_POST after xmlHTTPrequest send()

Here's my problem: how do I access the ArrayBuffer with PHP at the server? I'm used to the $_POST superglobal wanting parameters passing from a HTML form so it can be accessed as an array but I can't find any reference for how to access this binary array and stick it in my MySQL database.

• FileInputStream for a generic file System

  I have a file that contains java serialized objects like "Vector". I have stored this file over Hadoop Distributed File System(HDFS). Now I intend to read this file (using method readObject) in one of the map task. I suppose FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream("hdfs/path/to/file"); wont' work as the file is stored over HDFS. So I thought of using org.apache.hadoop.fs.FileSystem class. But Unfortunately it does not have any method that returns FileInputStream. All it has is a method that returns FSDataInputStream but I want a inputstream that can read serialized java objects like vector from a file rather than just primitive data types that FSDataInputStream would do. Please help!

• Python urllib3 and how to handle cookie support?

  So I'm looking into urllib3 because it has connection pooling and is thread safe (so performance is better, especially for crawling), but the documentation is... minimal to say the least. urllib2 has build_opener so something like: #!/usr/bin/python import cookielib, urllib2 cj = cookielib.CookieJar() opener = urllib2.build_opener(urllib2.HTTPCookieProcessor(cj)) r = opener.open("http://example.com/") But urllib3 has no build_opener method, so the only way I have figured out so far is to manually put it in the header: #!/usr/bin/python import urllib3 http_pool = urllib3.connection_from_url("http://example.com") myheaders = {'Cookie':'some cookie data'} r = http_pool.get_url("http://example.org/", headers=myheaders) But I am hoping there is a better way and that one of you can tell me what it is.   I have had issue today in one application where Geolocation is not working. Even on this page http://slaveryfootprint.org/survey/#where_do_you_live . When you enter a location , its showing null lattiude and longitude. Even though it search for autolocation, it can point the right location. and it happened all if a sudden today which was working fine since yestrday night and when I see in console it is returning null lat and long and null for city and I did not change the code at all. • Dynamic classloading fails on runtime

But when I try to run it, something weird happens; a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError is thrown on that last line, referring to the class just loaded. The weird part is, the println prints the exact class name. I checked that if I keep the reference as an Object and manipulate it only through reflection, everything's fine, so the offending piece of code must be the explicit cast. Can someone explain to me why this happens, and also tell me how I can achieve what I'm trying to do?

  I have 12 errors, but some are just pure non existent. Doctype: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> Here's the error report, but the "duplicate specification of attribute "value"" simply isn't true according to my .tpl: {textfield class="quetext" value="Epost*" onblur="if(this.value=='') this.value='Epost*';" onfocus="if(this.value=='Epost*') this.value='';"} Also, does a textarea require the attribute "rows" and "cols"? I thought that was only for tables? And I don't understand what the two errors at the end mean: Line 586, Column 80: Attribute value redefined... Please help! Thanks :) (Sorry if things chop and change, I'm working on the valdiation now, to tidy up as many errors as possible.)

• Is it possible to parse a stylesheet with Nokogiri?

  I've spent my requisite two hours Googling this, and I can not find any good answers, so let's see if humans can beat Google computers. I want to parse a stylesheet in Ruby so that I can apply those styles to elements in my document (to make the styles inlined). So, I want to take something like <style> .mystyle { color:white; } </style> And be able to extract it into a Nokogiri object of some sort. The Nokogiri class "CSS::Parser" (http://nokogiri.rubyforge.org/nokogiri/Nokogiri/CSS/Parser.html) certainly has a promising name, but I can't find any documentation on what it is or how it works, so I have no idea if it can do what I'm after here. My end goal is to be able to write code something like: a_web_page = Nokogiri::HTML(html_page_as_string) parsed_styles = Nokogiri::CSS.parse(html_page_as_string) parsed_styles.each do |style| existing_inlined_style = a_web_page.css(style.declaration) || '' a_web_page.css(style.declaration)['css'] = existing_inlined_style + style.definition end Which would extract styles from a stylesheet and add them all as inlined styles to my document.

  Hello! I'm trying to serialize "vector" (Microsoft.FSharp.Math) type. And I get that error: Exception Details: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Type 'Microsoft.FSharp.Math.Instances+FloatNumerics@115' with data contract name 'Instances.FloatNumerics_x0040_115:http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/Microsoft.FSharp.Math' is not expected. Add any types not known statically to the list of known types - for example, by using the KnownTypeAttribute attribute or by adding them to the list of known types passed to DataContractSerializer. I have tried to put KnownType attribute and some other stuff, but nothing helps! Could someone know the answer?
