• URLLoader.load() issue when using the same URLRequest

  Hello, I have an issue with my eventListeners with the URLLoader, but this issue happens in IE, not in FF. public function getUploadURL():void { var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(); request.url = getPath(); request.method = URLRequestMethod.GET; _loader = new URLLoader(); _loader.dataFormat = URLLoaderDataFormat.TEXT; _loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, getBaseURL); _loader.load(request); } private function getBaseURL(event:Event):void { _loader.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, getBaseURL); } The issue is that my getBaseURL gets executed automatically after I have executed the code at least once, but that is the case only in IE. What happens is I call my getUploadURL, I make sure the server sends an event that will result in an Event.COMPLETE, so the getBaseURL gets executed, and the listener is removed. If I call the getUploadURL method and put the wrong path, I do not get an Event.COMPLETE but some other event, and getBaseURL should not be executed. That is the correct behavior in FireFox. In IE, it looks like the load() method does not actually call the server, it jumps directly to the getBaseURL() for the Event.COMPLETE. I checked the willTrigger() and hasEventListener() on _loader before assigning the new URLLoader, and it turns out the event has been well removed. I hope I make sense, I simplified my code. To sum up quickly: in FireFox it works well, but in IE, the first call will work but the second call won't really call the .load() method; it seems it uses the previously stored result from the first call.   I am trying to build a self-updating collection. Each item in the collection has a position (x,y). When the position is changed, an event is fired, and the collection will relocate the item. Internally the collection is using a “jagged dictionary”. The outer dictionary uses the x-coordinate a key, while the nested dictionary uses the y-coordinate a key. The nested dictionary then has a list of items as value. The collection also maintains a dictionary to store the items position as stored in the nested dictionaries – item to stored location lookup. I am having some trouble making the collection thread safe, which I really need. • Why is my jQuery event not being triggered when the button is clicked?

  I am trying to call the .ajax() method when a button with id=go is clicked. This button is displayed when another jQuery event is triggered, namely that a button with a class called predicate is clicked. The button with id=go is displayed without any problems but on clicking it, there is no call to the alert() or getResults() method which are supposed to occur. Howver if I hard code the button with id=go into the page and don't have it generated by jQuery then the thing works fine.   I've been researching Dependency Injection and Inversion of Control practices lately in an effort to improve the architecture of our application framework and I can't seem to find a good answer to this question. It's very likely that I have my terminology confused, mixed up, or that I'm just naive to the concept right now, so any links or clarification would be appreciated. Many examples of DI and IoC containers don't illustrate how the container will connect things together when you have a "library" of possible "plugins", or how to "serialize" a given configuration. (From what I've read about MEF, having multiple declarations of [Export] for the same type will not work if your object only requires 1 [Import]). Maybe that's a different pattern or I'm blinded by my current way of thinking.   What I'm trying to achieve is basically have a code that will morph ( move around the page ) based on the part of the window which is currently viewed. Scenario : - actual page height : 2000px - actual screen height( pc, laptop whatever ) : 800px - 1 image of 600px - 3 div's or virtual boxes ( just to prove what I want to do ) Workflow When you open the page, you'd see the first part of the page with the image loaded in the first div. What I want and need to achieve is when scrolling the page, and the focus would be on the second div ( or the image simply gets out of focus - you can't see it no more ), the image would move ( disappear from the first box ) and appear in the second one, which is currently visible. The idea might seem pretty easy but I'm not Javascript savvy. Ideally, the answer should include a way to load a Javascript instead of that image.

• MooTools event listener disappears after element.innerHTML is changed

  Hi everyone, I am trying to achieve this task using MooTools. Description: I attached an event listener to "myButton" link. A click on this link initiates an AJAX request and updates "myDiv" content based on the response text. During this request a POST variable is being sent to "button.php", but it's not used at the moment.. (i wish to use it later) OK, as a result, "myDiv" gets exactly the same link with the same ID (myButton) + a random number, so that we could see that each click generates a new number. The problem: After the first click on "myButton", "myDiv" updates correctly, showing a random number. When I click "myButton" for the second time (this time in newly updated div), the div does not refresh anymore. Please note that I need "myButton" to be inside "myDiv", and "myDiv" must be updated (refreshed) after each click without having to refresh the entire page. The select part of the function works correctly, but for some reason when calling load2 directly the value of $('#select1').value is undefined, even though when I check the DOM in Firebug right after load select1.value has a value.   I have a table in which the table row tag is decorated with an onclick() handler. If the row is clicked anywhere, it will load another page. In one of the elements on the row, is an anchor tag which also leads to another page. The desired behavior is that if they click on the link, "delete.html" is loaded. If they click anywhere else in the row, "edit.html" is loaded. The problem is that sometimes (according to users) both the link and the onclick() are fired at once, leading to a problem in the back end code. They swear they are not double-clicking. I don't know enough about Javascript event bubbling, handling and whatever to even know where to start with this bizarre problem, so I'm asking for help. I have this perfectly working when a user clicks or rightclicks - i am handling the event for rowclick and rowcontextmenu respecitvely. But i am facing issue to locate the event - If the user first clicks on the row and them use up and down arrows to move on to other rows. Thanks in Advance

• Why is FBJS dropping my 'onclick' attribute from this input element?

  When I include an 'onClick' attribute in setInnerXTHML() like this: var innerHtml = '<span>Build Track: Select a city where track building should begin'+ '<div id="action-end">'+ '<form>'+ '<input type="button" value="End Track Building" id="next-phase" onClick="moveTrainAuto();" />'+ '</form>'+ '</div></span>'; actionPrompt.setInnerXHTML(innerHtml); var btn = document.getElementById('next-phase'); btn.addEventListener('click', 'moveTrainAuto'); The 'onClick' gets dropped. I know this from inspecting the element with Firebug. This is what it reveals: <input id="app148184604666_next-phase" type="button" value="End Track Building"/> Here is the function called for onClick: function moveTrainAuto(evt) { debugger; ajax = new Ajax(); ajax.responseType = Ajax.JSON; ajax.ondone = function(data) { debugger; if(data.code == 'UNLOAD_CARGO') { unloadCargo(); } else if (data.code == 'MOVE_TRAIN_AUTO') { moveTrainAuto(); } else if (data.code == 'TURN_END') { turnEnd(); } else { /* handle error */ } } ajax.post(baseURL + '/turn/move-trains-auto'); } As you can see, I've tried both 'onClick' and 'addEventListener'. Neither works. Any ideas?
