    Hello, I have a model like this: class Entity(models.Model): entity_name = models.CharField(max_length=100) entity_id = models.CharField(max_length=30, primary_key=True) entity_parent = models.CharField(max_length=100, null=True) photo_id = models.CharField(max_length=100, null=True) username = models.CharField(max_length=100, null=True) date_matched_on = models.CharField(max_length=100, null=True) status = models.CharField(max_length=30, default="Checked In") def __unicode__(self): return self.entity_name class Meta: app_label = 'match' ordering = ('entity_name','date_matched_on') verbose_name_plural='Entities' I also have a view like this: def photo_match(request): ''' performs an update in the db when a user chooses a photo ''' form = EntityForm(request.POST) form.save() And my EntityForm looks like this: class EntityForm(ModelForm): class Meta: model = Entity My template's form returns a POST back to the view with the following values: {u'username': [u'admin'], u'entity_parent': [u'PERSON'], u'entity_id': [u'152097'], u'photo_id': [u'2200734'], u'entity_name': [u'A.J. McLean'], u'status': [u'Checked Out'], u'date_matched_on': [u'5/20/2010 10:57 AM']} And form.save() throws this error: Exception in photo_match: The Entity could not be changed because the data didn't validate. I have been trying to figure out why this is happening, but cannot pinpoint the exact problem. I can change my Entities in the admin interface just fine.   • ASP.NET MVC: ModelState vs. ModelStateDictionary

    Hello, I have a service which has a method that's called when a certain controller method is triggered. My service returns a custom result object PlacementResult in which I want to communicate errors that may have happened (validation) back to the controller method. Should PlacementResult have a ModelState or a ModelStateDictionary to communicate errors back to the controller (and finally view)? How would I string this together? Finally, how do I get the ModelState/ModelStateDictionary (whichever you tell me I should choose) back into the view (highlighting the appropriate text box, show the error message etc.)? Thank you !

  • Asyncronously receiving data in an ASP.NET MVC application

    I'm looking for the best way to constantly check if data has been sent to our ASP.NET MVC application from a server. I would like to asynchronously check for data and update the view when data has been read. I'm currently using a TcpClient to make a connection, and making the connection in the inherited custom base controller. Currently though I have to refresh the page for the updating of the view to take place. Would there be a proper AJAX solution? or do I need to move the connection to the ActionMethod?

  • Memory leak in WPF app due to DelegateCommand.

    I just finished desktop apps written in WPF and c# using MVVM pattern. In this app I used Delegate Command implementation to wrap the ICommands properties exposed in my ModelView. The problem is these DelegateCommands prevent my ModelView and View from being garbage collected after closing the view. So it stays larking until I terminate the whole application. I profile the application I find it’s all about delegatecommand that keeping the modelview in memory. How could I avoid this situation and is this in nature of mvvm pattern, or it’s about my implantation of the pattern?. Thanks

  • Adding UIViews with dynamic heights iphone

    in my viewcontroller's view i need to add a couple of custom UIView's, i do that in the loadView method so in my custom uiview's drawRect method i add a couple of UILabel's. in my viewcontroller's view i need to add all those custom UIView's underneath each other but i don't know what their height is sometimes 20px, 40px, 60px, depending on the outcome of the drawRect so when i init my custom UIView i give it a frame height of lets say 50.. but when the drawRect is done and it's only 20, 50 is too much so i need to adjust the frame height but how can i determine what's the visible height of the custom UIView and where can i catch it in my viewcontroller when the custom uiview has finished his drawRect method is there some kind of autoresize and where do i catch it in my viewcontroller, so i can position the custom uiview right under neath each other.

  • Why can't I retrieve UIDeviceOrientation correctly while playing a movie in MPMoviePlayerController?

    Everything works fine while I'm not playing anything (I'm calling beginnotifications, etc, and using the orientation to rotate my view). But after I start playing with MPMoviePlayerController every time I try a... UIDeviceOrientation orientation = [[UIDevice currentDevice] orientation]; ...orientation gets a UIDeviceOrientationUnknown. Any clue? When the movie stops everything works alright again. I need this orientation to rotate the player's window, because Im using Iphone OS 3.1 so I can't directly use the view property inside MPMovie player controller.

  • How to implement UIViewController rotation in response to orientation changes?

    My app has about 10 different UIViewControllers, just one of which I want to switch to landscape mode if the device is rotated. (All the rest, I want to keep in portrait.) In order to implement rotation on that one view, I needed to implement its controller's 'shouldAutorotate' method and return YES. Since this view is accessed via a navigation controller, I also needed to create a subclass of UINavigationController that implements 'shouldAutorotate' and return YES. This solution works, but too well. I find that all of the UIViewControllers I push onto my subclass of UINavigationController respond to rotation, even if I implement 'shouldAutorotate' and return NO. (Remember: I only want one particular UIViewController to respond to rotation, not every one in the navigation controller's stack.) So, my question is: how do I best do this? All the solutions I can come up with seem 1) cumbersome, and 2) worse, don't seem to work. Thanks very much.

I tried debugging, and saw the code: notifyDataSetChanged() get called, but the custom getView() is not fired ! Can you please tell me, that is normal in Android, or did I do something wrong ?     Hi all. I want to draw some curve in my scroll view using CGPathRef. I tried to draw this path but i see only the part of my CGPathRef which located at 320x480 pixels. Is it way to do that. Thank you in advance.   • touchesEnded not being called??? or randomly being called

    If I lift my finger up off the first touch, then it will recognize the next touch just fine. It's only when I hold my first touch down continuously and then try and touch a different area with a different finger at the same time. It will then incorrectly register that second touch as being from the first touch again.   • AutoMapper and SecurityException in IIS

    Hi everybody... I'm developing a asp.net mvc application with nhibernate and I would not like to expose my objects mappings with NHibernate, so I created DTO for each entity and I'm trying to convert my Domain objects to DTO and send it to View. So I have in my sollution: ClassLibrary with my Domain (for NHibernate) and DTO objetcs Class library to make a SessionFactory adn Factories in my Project Asp.Net MVC 2 Application So, I download AutoMapper to transform Domain objects in DTO and add a the code to do this in Application_Start of global.asax. When I run in VisualStudio (by pressing F5) it works fine and my dtos are into the view, So when I publish this in IIS, I get a security exception =( in first line of conversion: Mapper.CreateMap(); <--- this line throw exception Mapper.CreateMap(); System.Security.SecurityException: Failed request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.ReflectionPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. What can I do to resolve this to work in IIS ? When I will publish it on web server, the error will get too :( Thanks Cheers

    In my Eclipse plugin I'd like to send a Java console output (loaded from some other system) to the Java Stack Trace Console. I pseudo-code it'd be something like: get the console output from the other system obtain a reference to a JavaStackTraceConsolePage instance send the text to the console page display the console i.e. switch from my plugin's view to the Console view Step 1 is easy as it is specific to my plugin. As for the rest I'm pretty much clueless - Google and stackoverflow.com don't come up with useful references or how-tos. Since the class JavaStackTraceConsolePage is part of an internal Eclipse API (org.eclipse.jdt.internal.debug.ui.console) I'm not even sure whether it's doable at all.
