Getting NoClassDefFoundError only with TestCases

I have one class, that creates excel sheet.For that I added poi-3.2.jar to classpath. I am working with Eclipse3.7. I have generated testcases by recording workbench actions using with WindowTester Pro. I edited generated testcase and tried to create excel sheet within that to write test result. If I use same API from normal java program (within that plugin itself), it can able to create excel file without errors. But, when I try to create from testcase, I am getting the following error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/poi/hssf/usermodel/HSSFWorkbook I have added required jar file into lib folder and added to build-path. Why its working from normal java program, but not working from WindowTester generated testcase. Could anyone help me.

jQuery ajax request to php, how to return plain text only

I am making an ajax request to a php page and I cannot for the life of me get it to just return plain text. $.ajax({ type: 'GET', url: '/shipping/test.php', cache: false, dataType: 'text', data: myData, success: function(data){ console.log(data) } }); in test.php I am including this script to get UPS rates. I am then calling the function with $rate = ups($dest_zip,$service,$weight,$length,$width,$height); I am doing echo $rate; at the bottom of test.php. When viewed in a browser shows the rate, that's great. But when I request the page via ajax I get a bunch of XML. Pastie here: http://pastie.org/1416142 My question is, how do I get it so I can just return the plain text string from the ajax call, where the result data will be a number? Need help getting DIV inside DIV to stretch to width of contents in Firefox

I am using a layout similar to the one from Dynamic Drive here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/layouts/item/css-right-frame-layout/ The main content area (white) has overflow set to auto. I have given the innerTube inside this main content area a border. However if the contents within this innerTube are greater than the width of the main content area, a horizontal scroll bar will appear as expected, but in Firefox these contents will 'overlap' the border and go off screen (can be retrieved by scrolling horizontally). In other words, the right hand border remains in place, and the content just goes over the op of it, and disappears behind the right hand column. In IE it behaves exactly as I want - the content pushes the border off screen to be visible only once you scroll over there. I guess the easiest thing is to paste the source code here. If you copy it into a blank file you'll see what I mean. I've just used one really long word to replicate what happens if a wide image is there instead. exec() function doesn't rule svn checkout

Hi, I'm writing some functions in php using exec() to interrogate a svn. The commands exec("svn list ".$myurl) works. Now, I try to get a path on a svn repository with the checkout command. When I put the command "svn checkout http://core.wordress.org/tags/2.9.2/ last-version" directly in the console, it works. But when I do this from a php script using exec(), like this : exec("svn checkout ".$myurl, $dir) it doesn't work. Have you an idea ??

Clean way to combine multiple jars? Preferably using ant

I have runtime dependencies on some external jars that I would like to "rejar" into a single jar. These external dependencies are stored in a external_jars directory, and I'd like to be able to not have to list each one out (e.g., to not need to change my build scripts if my dependencies change). Any thoughts? Google gave me a good answer on how to do this if you don't mind listing out each jar you want as a dependency: http://markmail.org/message/zijbwm46maxzzoo5 Roughly, I want something along the lines of the following, which would combine all jars in lib into out.jar (with some sane overwrite rules). jar -combine -out out.jar -in lib/*.jar

I can do it - sort of - but the object I receive is a sun.org.mozilla.javascript.internal.InterpretedFunction and I don't see a way to invoke it. Any ideas? I'm using PHP include to include a PHP file that has HTML in it. some of the content has french accents and these show up as ? on the site. How can this be solved? Problem saving Text file in database using Hibernate

I'm having a problem saving large text files to MySQL database. If the text file size is around 5KB it successfully saves. If file is 148KB then I get this error from Hibernate: org.hibernate.exception.DataException: Could not execute JDBC batch update These is the SQL shows by Hibernate: Hibernate: insert into file_table (ID,FILE) values (?, ?) And in my hibernate file I'm using java.sql.Blob to store the file. Anyone knows why it fails to save a file size of 148KB but if I open that same file, cut it down to around 5KB, it will successfully save it? I thought the default limit was I think 2GB? This is weird. Thanks.

Knowing the fundamentals of Java what is the right approach to learn Groovy?

As my question already implies I want to learn a new language and have read several articles about groovy and its more pragmatic syntax. SO I have choosen Groovy as the language of my choice. What is a good way to learn a new language like Groovy when I already know the fundamentals of Java. When I understand correctly Groovy will be running in the Java Virtual Machine and allows me to always rely on what I know from Java when I don't know how to solve the problem in Groovy. I am looking for hints on how to organize a learning track to learn this language. I have the following scenario: public class FirstChildService : IChildService { } public class SecondChildService : IChildService { } public class MyService : IService { public MyService(IEnumerable<IChildService> childServices){ ... } } I'm currently registering all the child services and explicitly depending on them in the constructor of MyService, but what I'd like to do is have them all injected as part of a collection. I can think of a few ways to do this: Using a facility Using a component property Registering the collection as a service But all of them feel a bit... icky. What's the best way to manage this? Also, ideally I'd like to do this using the fluent API and constructor injection. Why does the HTML5 DOCTYPE mess with my padding?

I have an html5 page with a navbar. Completely scratch coded. I just recently added a doctype to the item, and now I’m getting extra space under my navbar. If I remove the doctype declaration, it goes back to normal. I have completely reset padding, margins, etc. on everything, and cut it down to the a small amount of code that illustrates the issue. Google App Engine - SiteMap Creation for a social network

Hi all. I am creating a social tool - I want to allow search engines to pick up "public" user profiles - like twitter and face-book. I have seen all the protocol info at http://www.sitemaps.org and i understand this and how to build such a file - along with an index if i exceed the 50K limit. Where i am struggling is the concept of how i make this run. The site map for my general site pages is simple i can use a tool to create the file - or a script - host the file - submit the file and done. What i then need is a script that will create the site-maps of user profiles. I assume this would be something like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"> <url> <loc>http://www.socialsite.com/profile/spidee</loc> <lastmod>2010-5-12</lastmod> <changefreq>???</changefreq> <priority>???</priority> </url> <url> <loc>http://www.socialsite.com/profile/webbsterisback</loc> <lastmod>2010-5-12</lastmod> <changefreq>???</changefreq> <priority>???</priority> </url> </urlset> Ive added some ??? as i don't know how i should set these settings for my profiles based on the following:- When a new profile is created it must be added to a site-map. If the profile is changed or if "certain" properties are changed - then i don't know if i update the entry in the map - or do something else? (updating would be a nightmare!) Some users may change their profile. In terms of relevance to the search engine the only way a google or yahoo search will find the users (for my requirement) profile would be for example by means of [user name] and [location] so once the entry for the profile has been added to the map file the only reason to have the search-bot re-index the profile would be if the user changed their user-name - which they cant. or their location - and or set their settings so that their profile would be "hidden" from search engines. I assume my map creation will need to be dynamic. From what i have said above i would imagine that creating a new profile and possible editing certain properties could mark it as needing adding/updating in the sitemap. Assuming i will have millions of profiles added/being edited how can i manage this in a sensible manner. i know i need a script that can append urls as each profile is created i know the script will prob be a TASK - running at a set freq - perhaps the profiles have a property like "indexed" and the TASK sets them to "true" when the profiles are added to the map. I dont see the best way to store the map - do i store it in the datastore i.e; model=sitemaps properties key_name=sitemap_xml_1 (and for my map sitemap_index_xml) mapxml=blobstore (the raw xml map or ror map) full=boolean (set true when url count is 50) # might need this as a shard will tell us To make this work my thoughts are m cache the current site map structure as "sitemap_xml" keep a shard of url count when my task executes 1. build the xml structure for say the first 100 urls marked "index==false" (how many could u run at a time?) 2. test if the current mcache sitemap is full (shardcounter+10050K) 3.a if the map is near full create a new map entry in models "sitemap_xml_2" - update the map_index file (also stored in my model as "sitemap_index" start a new shard - or reset.2 3.b if the map is not full grab it from mcache 4.append the 100 url xml structure 5.save / m cache the map I can now add a handler using a url map/route like /sitemaps/* Get my * as map name and serve the maps from the blobstore/mache on the fly. Now my question is does this work - is this the right way or a good way to start? Will this handle the situation of making sure the search bots update when a user changes their profile - possibly by setting the change freq correctly? - Do i need a more advance system :( ? or have i re-invented the wheel! I hope this is all clear and make some form of sense :-)

What's a good way to write XML in C++?

There are plenty of Libraries to parse XML, but it seems there aren't many good (?) ways to write XML in C++. Libraries I've been using so far: PugiXML: really lightweight, very straightforwarded API, but it seems to lack a way to write XML (Or I haven't found it yet) RapidXML: I don't have much experience with RapidXML; But it does look nice. TinyXML: I find it odd that the STL TinyXML needs to be explicitly "enabled" in TinyXML - I mean, if your compiler doesn't support the STL, get a better one! Can't compile grails Tomcat plugin

I'm using Netbeans to build a Grails app, while I have used this fine before on this new computer I can not get even the basic project to compile and run. I am getting errors around compiling the Tomcat plugin. If I uninstall the plugin it and use Jetty instead it will compile but the project isn't set up for Jetty and is missing files. Trying to trigger php script, get EXC_BAD_ACCESS iPhone development

Tomcat 6 Realm Config with Windows AD

We have Tomcat 6 connecting to a Win2k3 Server running AD. The realm is configured as such <Realm className="org.apache.catalina.realm.JNDIRealm" debug="99" referrals="follow" connectionURL="<url>" connectionName="CN=Query Account,OU=Service Accounts,DC=company,DC=com" connectionPassword="<pwd>" userBase="OU=Users,DC=company,DC=com" userSubtree="true" userSearch="(sAMAccountName={0})" userRoleName="member" roleBase="OU=Security Groups,DC=company,DC=com" roleName="cn" roleSearch="(member={0})" roleSubtree="true"/> Our groups in AD are such Security Groups (OU) IT (OU) IT Support (OU) Support Staff (CN) The LDAP security works if in the web.xml, I speficy Support Staff. i.e works for Common names. We want ANY user under Security Groups OU to have access to the application and not just the CN. Tomcat does not search OU's and it just searches CN's in our case. How do we configure our settings so we can do OU level authorization and not just CN level ? thanks Mat

Giving Users an Option Between UDP & TCP?

After studying TCP/UDP difference all week, I just can't decide which to use. I have to send a large amount of constant sensor data, while at the same time sending important data that can't be lost. This made a perfect split for me to use both, then I read a paper (http://www.isoc.org/INET97/proceedings/F3/F3_1.HTM) that says using both causes packet/performance loss in the other. Is there any issue presented if I allow the user to choose which protocol to use (if I program both server side) instead of choosing myself? Are there any disadvantages to this? The only other solution I came up with is to use UDP, and if there seems to be too great of loss of packets, switch to TCP (client-side).

How to enable BDS2006's C++ WARN & TRACE macros.

I am trying to find out how to enable (& use) Borland's WARN & TRACE macros. But when I run the application (in DEBUG mode), no debug output file is created. What am I missing here?

Dirty Reads in Postgres

I have a long running function that should be inserting new rows. How do I check the progress of this function? I was thinking dirty reads would work so I read http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/interactive/sql-set-transaction.html and came up with the following code and ran it in a new session: SET SESSION CHARACTERISTICS AS SERIALIZABLE; SELECT * FROM MyTable; Postgres gives me a syntax error.
