• Clean way to combine multiple jars? Preferably using ant

  I have runtime dependencies on some external jars that I would like to "rejar" into a single jar. These external dependencies are stored in a external_jars directory, and I'd like to be able to not have to list each one out (e.g., to not need to change my build scripts if my dependencies change). Any thoughts? Google gave me a good answer on how to do this if you don't mind listing out each jar you want as a dependency: http://markmail.org/message/zijbwm46maxzzoo5 Roughly, I want something along the lines of the following, which would combine all jars in lib into out.jar (with some sane overwrite rules). jar -combine -out out.jar -in lib/*.jar

• Where can I find boost::fusion articles, examples, guides, tutorials?

  I am going to go ahead and shamelessly duplicate this question because the accepted answer is essentially "nope, no guides" and it's been nearly a year now since it's been asked. Does anyone know of any useful articles, guides, tutorials, etc. for boost::fusion besides the barebones documentation on boost.org? (which I'm sure is great as a reference after one has learned the library.) I'm completely open to, say, a link to a book on Amazon. Searched for it myself just now but all I came up with was green tea. The top links on Google aren't much better.

I can do it - sort of - but the object I receive is a sun.org.mozilla.javascript.internal.InterpretedFunction and I don't see a way to invoke it. Any ideas?   We have Tomcat 6 connecting to a Win2k3 Server running AD. We want ANY user under Security Groups OU to have access to the application and not just the CN. Tomcat does not search OU's and it just searches CN's in our case. • Need help getting DIV inside DIV to stretch to width of contents in Firefox

  I am using a layout similar to the one from Dynamic Drive here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/layouts/item/css-right-frame-layout/ The main content area (white) has overflow set to auto. I have given the innerTube inside this main content area a border. However if the contents within this innerTube are greater than the width of the main content area, a horizontal scroll bar will appear as expected, but in Firefox these contents will 'overlap' the border and go off screen (can be retrieved by scrolling horizontally). In other words, the right hand border remains in place, and the content just goes over the op of it, and disappears behind the right hand column. In IE it behaves exactly as I want - the content pushes the border off screen to be visible only once you scroll over there. I guess the easiest thing is to paste the source code here. If you copy it into a blank file you'll see what I mean. I've just used one really long word to replicate what happens if a wide image is there instead. • Issues with taglibs while using jasmine-maven-plugin to test dojo widgets with templates

  I am using jasmine-maven-plugin to run javascript unit tests for my dojo widgets. One of my dojo widgets refers to a html template jsp file with taglibs. When I initialize my dojo widgets, I get the following error: Error: Invalid template: <%@ taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/security/tags" prefix="sec"% The plugin uses jetty to deploy the scripts to test. I tried including jstl jar into the WEB-INF folder but it doesn't work. I am assuming it's just not DOJO and this taglib issue can occur even with simple js file. I am looking for some clue on why taglibs are not recognized here. If I remove the taglib entries, my tests just work fine.

• Need help in setting application name with JPA (EclipseLink)

  hello everybody i am using JPA with EclipseLink and oracle as DB and i need to set the property v$session of jdbc4 it allows to set an identification name to the application for auditing purposes but i had no lucky setting it up....i have been trying through entitiyManager following the example in this page: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Configuring_a_EclipseLink_JPA_Application_(ELUG) it does not show any error but does not set the application name at all... when i see the audit in oracle it is not being audited with the name i set by code "Customers" but with OS_program_name=JDBC Thin Client it means that the property in the code is not being set properly and i have no idea where the issue is, the code i am using is the following : emProperties.put("v$session.program","Customers"); factory=Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("clients",emProperties); em=factory.createEntityManager(emProperties); em.merge(clients); does anybody know how to do it or any idea.... thanks.-

• Setup sonar-runner for multiple java projects

  I am trying to run sonar-runner to analyze multiple Java projects in one go. According to the documentation http://docs.codehaus.org/display/SONAR/Analyse+with+a+simple+Java+Runner it is just a matter of creating a sonar-project.properties file for each project. But it is not clear to me where exactly I have to put these sonar-project.properties files. I tried to add multiple .properties files in the $SONAR_RUNNER_HOME/conf folder but the runner does not seem to pick them up. It only sees the sonar-project.properties file. Any suggestions on how to run sonar-runner for multiple projects?

• Why does the HTML5 DOCTYPE mess with my padding?

  I have an html5 page with a navbar. Completely scratch coded. I just recently added a doctype to the item, and now I’m getting extra space under my navbar. If I remove the doctype declaration, it goes back to normal. I have completely reset padding, margins, etc. on everything, and cut it down to the a small amount of code that illustrates the issue. • jQuery ajax request to php, how to return plain text only

  I am making an ajax request to a php page and I cannot for the life of me get it to just return plain text. $.ajax({ type: 'GET', url: '/shipping/test.php', cache: false, dataType: 'text', data: myData, success: function(data){ console.log(data) } }); in test.php I am including this script to get UPS rates. I am then calling the function with $rate = ups($dest_zip,$service,$weight,$length,$width,$height); I am doing echo $rate; at the bottom of test.php. When viewed in a browser shows the rate, that's great. But when I request the page via ajax I get a bunch of XML. • Trying to trigger php script, get EXC_BAD_ACCESS iPhone development

• Can't compile grails Tomcat plugin

  I'm using Netbeans to build a Grails app, while I have used this fine before on this new computer I can not get even the basic project to compile and run. I am getting errors around compiling the Tomcat plugin. If I uninstall the plugin it and use Jetty instead it will compile but the project isn't set up for Jetty and is missing files. • What's a good way to write XML in C++?

  There are plenty of Libraries to parse XML, but it seems there aren't many good (?) ways to write XML in C++. Libraries I've been using so far: PugiXML: really lightweight, very straightforwarded API, but it seems to lack a way to write XML (Or I haven't found it yet) RapidXML: I don't have much experience with RapidXML; But it does look nice. TinyXML: I find it odd that the STL TinyXML needs to be explicitly "enabled" in TinyXML - I mean, if your compiler doesn't support the STL, get a better one! • Getting NoClassDefFoundError only with TestCases

  I have one class, that creates excel sheet.For that I added poi-3.2.jar to classpath. I am working with Eclipse3.7. I have generated testcases by recording workbench actions using with WindowTester Pro. I edited generated testcase and tried to create excel sheet within that to write test result. If I use same API from normal java program (within that plugin itself), it can able to create excel file without errors. But, when I try to create from testcase, I am getting the following error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/poi/hssf/usermodel/HSSFWorkbook I have added required jar file into lib folder and added to build-path. Why its working from normal java program, but not working from WindowTester generated testcase. Could anyone help me.

I'm tempted to try NHibernate, but I don't like the fact that they use so many third party libraries.   I have a long running function that should be inserting new rows. How do I check the progress of this function? I was thinking dirty reads would work so I read http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/interactive/sql-set-transaction.html and came up with the following code and ran it in a new session: SET SESSION CHARACTERISTICS AS SERIALIZABLE; SELECT * FROM MyTable; Postgres gives me a syntax error. What am I doing wrong? If I do it right, will I see the inserted records while that long function is still running? Thanks

  As my question already implies I want to learn a new language and have read several articles about groovy and its more pragmatic syntax. SO I have choosen Groovy as the language of my choice. What is a good way to learn a new language like Groovy when I already know the fundamentals of Java. When I understand correctly Groovy will be running in the Java Virtual Machine and allows me to always rely on what I know from Java when I don't know how to solve the problem in Groovy. I am looking for hints on how to organize a learning track to learn this language. • Giving Users an Option Between UDP & TCP?

  After studying TCP/UDP difference all week, I just can't decide which to use. I have to send a large amount of constant sensor data, while at the same time sending important data that can't be lost. This made a perfect split for me to use both, then I read a paper (http://www.isoc.org/INET97/proceedings/F3/F3_1.HTM) that says using both causes packet/performance loss in the other. Is there any issue presented if I allow the user to choose which protocol to use (if I program both server side) instead of choosing myself? Are there any disadvantages to this? The only other solution I came up with is to use UDP, and if there seems to be too great of loss of packets, switch to TCP (client-side).
