  • Lucene.NET performance

    - by Paul Knopf
I have a website that runs of a third party search provider that is expensive. I am going to roll my own. Is Lucene.NET capable of ~25,000 products (or documents), each with maybe ten attributes used for filtering? I am looking to do a "narrow/drill down" or "faceted search". Does that sound like to much to ask from Lucene.NET?

  • Filter Django Haystack results like QuerySet?

    - by prometheus
Is it possible to combine a Django Haystack search with "built-in" QuerySet filter operations, specifically filtering with Q() instances and lookup types not supported by SearchQuerySet? In either order: haystack-searched -> queryset-filtered or queryset-filtered -> haystack-searched Browsing the Django Haystack documentation didn't give any directions how to do this.

  • Customising Silverlight AutoCompleteBox with multiple filtered ListBoxes

    - by ianbeks
Hi, How should I go about customising the AutoCompleteBox in Silverlight so that while typing I can filter multiple Selector ListBoxes. Basically I want a Popup that contains 'n' ListBoxes vertically stacked and when I type, the filtering operates on all of them simultaneously. I can then select an item from any of the ListBoxes. Thanks in advance for any guidance you may have. Beks

  • Per Application Packet Analyzer

    - by Anindya Chatterjee
Is there any tool which can analyze network traffic per application? Wireshark does not have per application filtering, fiddler also does not give proper logging for any application. So can anyone please help me out to find an app which can analyze network traffic originating from a random application and log the traffic for that particular application only?

  • Optional parameters in Visual Studio 2008 Crystal Reports

    - by Andrew
I am developing a Crystal Report in Visual Studio 2008. I am trying to implement optional parameters so that a user does not have to specify a value or range for a particular field. Essentially, this means there is no filtering done on that field if the user wishes. However, I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Does anyone have any ideas? Let me know if more information is required.

  • mean image filter

    - by turmoil
Starting to learn image filtering and stumped on a question found on website: Applying a 3×3 mean filter twice does not produce quite the same result as applying a 5×5 mean filter once. However, a 5×5 convolution kernel can be constructed which is equivalent. What does this kernel look like? Would appreciate help so that I can understand the subject better. Thanks.

  • Checking if subfolders exist linux

    - by laura
I'm trying to check if a folder has any subfolders without iterating through its children, in Linux. The closest I've found so far is using ftw and stopping at the first subfolder - or using scandir and filtering through the results. Both, are, however, an overkill for my purposes, I simply want a yes/no. On Windows, this is done by calling SHGetFileInfo and then testing dwAttributes & SFGAO_HASSUBFOLDER on the returned structure. Is there such an option on Linux?

  • Listing defined functions in bash

    - by Charles Duffy
I'm trying to write some code in bash which uses introspection to select the appropriate function to call. Determining the candidates requires knowing which functions are defined. It's easy to list defined variables in bash using only parameter expansion: $ prefix_foo="one" $ prefix_bar="two" $ echo "${!prefix_*}" prefix_bar prefix_foo However, doing this for functions appears to require filtering the output of set -- a much more haphazard approach. Is there a Right Way?

  • Signal processing or algorithmic programming for a PLC

    - by james singen smythe
I have an application that takes voltages and temperatures as analog inputs and does some processing using an algorithm which involves signal processing such as low-pass filtering, exponential smoothing, and other steps which might typically be done in a high-level programming language such as C or C++. I'm curious how I could perform these same steps using a PLC, and in particular, the Allen-Bradley Control-Logix system? It seems to me that the instruction set with ladder logic is too limited for this. Could I perform this using structured text?

  • How to Build a User Friendly Filter

    - by Changeling
Our application displays tons of valuable information to our users in a table. We have a filtering capablity that is based on boolean/logic searches. Even after coaching, users still tend to not understand how to use filters because AND OR = etc are foreign to them. This filter is easy for programmers since it is easily translated into code. Any examples on how this can be made more user-friendly and less prone to error?

  • Visual Studio 2010 - References Dialog Filter

    - by Sphynx
Visual Studio 2010 adds a new feature to improve loading speed of references in "Add .NET Reference" tab. For example, when the target framework of project is 3.5, it displays only 3.5 assemblies in the list, and says "Filtered to: .NET Framework 3.5". This feature is quite annoying, as it makes impossible to find an older assembly, unless you change a target framework in compilation options. Is there any option to disable that filtering?

  • What would I use to remove escaped html from large sets of data.

    - by Elizabeth Buckwalter
Our database is filled with articles retrieved from RSS feeds. I was unsure of what data I would be getting, and how much filtering was already setup (WP-O-Matic Wordpress plugin using the SimplePie library). This plugin does some basic encoding before insertion using Wordpress's built in post insert function which also does some filtering. I've figured out most of the filters before insertion, but now I have whacko data that I need to remove. This is an example of whacko data that I have data in one field which the content I want in the front, but this part removed which is at the end: <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img> <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img> &lt;img src=&quot;http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:D7DqB2pKExk&quot; Notice how some of the images are escape and some aren't. I believe this has to do with the last part being cut off so as to be unrecognizable as an html tag, which then caused it to be html endcoded. Another field has only this which is now filtered before insertion, but I have to get rid of the others: &lt;img src=&quot;http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2183/2289902369_1d95bcdb85.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;post_img&quot; width=&quot;80&quot; (all examples are on one line, but broken up for readability) Question: What is the best way to work with the above escaped html (or portion of an html tag)? I can do it in Perl, PHP, SQL, Ruby, and even Python. I believe Perl to be the best at text parsing, so that's why I used the Perl tag. And PHP times out on large database operations, so that's pretty much out unless I wanted to do batch processing and what not. PS One of the nice things about using Wordpress's insert post function, is that if you use php's strip_tags function to strip out all html, insert post function will insert <p> at the paragraph points. Let me know if there's anything more that I can answer. Some article that didn't quite answer my questions. (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2016751/remove-text-from-within-a-database-text-field) (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/462831/regular-expression-to-escape-html-ampersands-while-respecting-cdata)

  • What is the best way to format a date in JSON for Mongo DB storage

    - by Poul
I have a date with a time. I'm using ruby, but the language shouldn't matter. d = "2010-04-01 13:00:00" What is the best way to format this date for Mongo DB? By 'best' I mean, is there a certain format I could use where Mongo would recognize it as a date and might give me more-advanced filtering optons? ie: If formatted correctly, could I ask Mongo to return all records whose month is '04'? Thanks!

  • Is there any live video stream editing open source project with API for my needs?

    - by Ole Jak
I need an open source project with an API capable of reading a live video stream (stream codec can be any API can read - I can provide with practically any live streamable one) giving me last image data for some processing (like brightness\contrast or more exotic filtering) being able to receive data I've changed and starting to stream that data on to some http://localhost:port/ in some format I need it to be easily accessible from C# (even better, written in C#).

  • CollectionViewSource & Selective Column Display

    - by Berryl
By selective column display i mean the following: a control shows a listing of widgets (WidgetVm.DisplayName), with the default display name being in English (WidgetVm.EnglishName), but with the option to show the widget in French (WidgetVm.FrenchName). There also sorting and filtering available, which is why CollectionViewSource seems ideal. I know you can have multiple views over the same source but I haven't figured out how to do this yet. Is that the right approach to solving this? How? Cheers, Berryl

  • How to cache YUI DataSource?

    - by Matt McCormick
I'm setting up a YUI DataTable with filtering by following the steps on the YUI site However, I am using JSON as the DataSource ResponseType. When I type in a value to filter, the request will be sent to the server again. I find this to be wasteful as all the data has already been retrieved the first time. Is there a way to cache the initial data returned and then filter only according to that data so another AJAX request does not have to be made?

  • Ant MXMLC task with arbitrary list of source/lib paths?

    - by sascha
Does anyone know of a way to use the mxmlc task of the Flex Ant tasks with a user-definable list of source path or library paths? The idea is that the user can define an arbitrary list of source paths and/or library (swc) paths into an Ant properties file and the build file takes these values and evaluates them for use in the mxmlc task. Just wondering if there are any tricks (maybe utilizing filtering/string replacing) to get this working?

  • Generic IBindingListView Implementations

    - by Brad Leach
Can anyone suggest a good implementation of a generic collection class that implements the IBindingListView & IBindingList interfaces and provides Filtering and Searching capabilities? I see my current options as: Using a class that someone else has written and tested Inheriting from BindingList, and implementing the IBindingListView interfaces Write a custom collection from scratch, implementing IBindingListView and IBindingList. Obviously, the first option is my preferred choice. Thanking you.
