    I'm designing a custom VM and am curious about how many registers I should use. Initially, I had 255, but I'm a little concerned about backing 255 pointers (a whole KB) on to the stack or heap every time I call a function, when most of them won't even be used. How many registers should I use?

And in order to achieve MSMQ high-availability, one must cluster the related Biztalk Host (and hence the underlying servers have to be in a cluster themselves). Yet, according to Microsoft Documentation, NLB and FailOver Clustering technologies are not compatible. It cant reach the service and the request fails This happens for all the examples, ASMX, REST and WCF any ideas how to get this working cross daomain?

    I have a piece of code that reads hell of a lot (hundreds of thousand) of relatively small files (couple of KB) from the local file system in a loop. For each file there is a java.io.FileInputStream created to read the content. The process its very slow and take ages. Do you think that wrapping the FIS into java.io.BufferedInputStream would make a significant difference?

I am able to see the selected border style in designer. Like None, FixedSingle or Fixed3D. But when I set the border style to FixedSingle, the border does not appear at runtime. Do I need to draw it manually in the OnPaint method?

    Hello all, complete newbie here, I need to find a way to store 250 KB of plain text numbers inside my program's executable file. Usually, I would put the data in a separate file and let the program read it while it is running, but that's not an option here. Instead, the program and the data need to be in one executable file. I have absolutely no idea how to do it (except writing 250.000 #defines :-) and I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you very much!

    If someone is hosting something in Azure and a new KB comes along and requires the .net framework to be updated, how is this handled in Azure? Do they automatically update it for you or give you the option to remain at the older version? I'm more interested in how the versioning is handled, rather than uptime etc. Do they force you to stay at the most up to date version of a given version number? As in, the most up to date version of 3.5, etc.

Most of the examples that I can find online manage to show the dialog but any changes the user might make are lost which makes it useless.   • Compressing ASPX pageview in code or compress HTTP in IIS?

    In the past, with pages with large viewstate I have overridden the PageStatePersister class so when the state is saved I compress it. On Load I decompress it. I have haven't really thought about it, but could IIS handle something like this better? The reason I did this was to keep my pages slimmer because I have a lot of custom controls on the page and the viewstate was huge.     Hey, I'm trying to write a program in C# that will track the pressing of certain keys (using a keyboard hook), and send different ones instead. For instance, when I press the A key it will instead send the Q key. I used http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/CSLLKeyboardHook.aspx this for my hooks and tried to use the SendKeys function, but I get an exception about the garbage collector destroying some object inside the hook class.

    Hey, I'm trying to develop a toolbar for Microsoft Outlook. For getting it to work I need mso.dll and msoutl.olb as an import. My problem is: the path is hardcoded , but it varies for every OS and of course if someone doesn't install Office to the default path.   • KVM guest io is much slower than host io: is that normal?

    I have a Qemu-KVM host system setup on CentOS 6.3. Four 1TB SATA HDDs working in Software RAID10. Guest CentOS 6.3 is installed on separate LVM. People say that they see guest performance almost equal to host performance, but I don't see that. My i/o tests are showing 30-70% slower performance on guest than on host system. I tried to change scheduler (set elevator=deadline on host and elevator=noop on guest), set blkio.weight to 1000 in cgroup, change io to virtio... But none of these changes gave me any significant results.
