• failing to establish connection between postgre db and gwt

  Hi, For i am using postgre and gwt 2.0 for one of my applications. I am facing problem connecting to the database. When i try to connect it gives "ClassNotFoundException". I've used the following command successfully on other machines, but for some reason on a new Acer Aspire 5830T that I'm setting up this doesn't do the trick for me: subinacl /service OpenVPNService /grant=popuser=TO I keep getting the following error message: LookupAccountName : OpenVPNService:popuser 1337 The security ID structure is invalid. I need to verify the following parameter settings: core file size (blocks, -c) unlimited data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited file size (blocks, -f) unlimited open files (-n) 65536 stack size (kbytes, -s) unlimited cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited Sure I could use ulimit -cH to get display above. But I also need to find where those settings are. I'm from Linux, in Linux we have /etc/security/limts.conf file to hold alike information. Do we have such file in Solaris? TIA!

• DirectX works for 64-bit but not 32-bit

  I'm trying to play a game (Civilization 5) which was previously working but no longer. I believe I've narrowed it down to a DirectX issue because I get an error running dxdiag.exe in 32 bit mode. My goal (at least I believe) is to get Direct3D Acceleration "Enabled" in dxdiag (as it is in 64 bit dxdiag). Like other users in that thread, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Direct3D\Drivers does not have a SoftwareOnly key to change. I even tried manually adding it as a string and dword, to no avail. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M, and before you ask, yes I've tried updating (also uninstalling, reinstalling) my drivers. I've also tried doing the same with DirectX (and Civilization 5 for that matter). Been debugging for some 4+ hours now after a full day of work and I've run out of ideas.   I have a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 3000 v2.0 that was bought paired with a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000. They're both Bluetooth and use the same receiver. The keyboard no longer works. The receiver is fine, as the mouse still works. The keyboard is still detected by Windows when the receiver is plugged in. The batteries have been replaced. There are no on/off switches on the keyboard or mouse, and no re-sync button on them or the receiver. Results are the same when using the receiver in a different USB port, or on a different machine. Anything else I might try to fix this, or should I hold a funeral for the keyboard?

  Hi Everyone, As per title, why do people tell me not to use VLANs for security purposes? I have a network, where a have a couple of VLANS. There is a firewall between the 2 VLANs. I am using HP Procurve switches and have made sure that switch-to-switch links accept tagged frames only and that host ports don't accept tagged frames (They are not "VLAN Aware"). I've also made sure that the native VLAN (PVID) of the trunk links are not the same as either of the 2 host VLANs. I've also enabled "Ingress Filtering". Furthermore, I've made sure that host ports are only members of a single VLAN, which is the same as the PVID of the respective port. The only ports which are members of multiple VLANs are the trunk ports. Can someone please explain to me why the above isn't secure? I believe I've addressed the double tagging issue.. Thanks

  We asked our admin to update SVN on our CentOS 6.5 server. He did so and the result was SVN 1.6.11. However the current version of SVN is 1.8.9. I know the CentOS yum repository is not always up-to-date. But in that case I am confused: SVN 1.6.x is not officially supported anymore. This means it does not get any security fixes! How can the official CentOS repository provide such an old (and dangerous) version? Is there something we (or our admin) understood the wrong way?

  I have a the folder c:\test\ and two files in it a.txt and b.txtv. I would like to process just the files with extension equal to .txt. If I write this commands cd c:\test for %f in (*.txt) do echo %f I will get the result where both a.txt and b.txtv are listed. The same happens with cd c:\test dir *.txt It seems .txt is the same of .txtv. I have Windows XP SP3 in Italian and the result of ver is Microsoft Windows XP [Versione 5.1.2600]. The same result is from Windows 7 in English Microsoft Windows XP [Version 6.1.7601].

After i updated to win 8.1 it first takes me to a login and its not set to me microsoft account but as other user. Thus is fails to login and i have to click below login as a microsoft account and reenter everytime my email and password. In windows in users there is only one user and thats the one i had before. No local account set or something. Same to accounts in control panel. How do i disable this double accounts?

• Injection of banners in my webbrowsers possible malware

  Recently I have started to suspect that I have some kind of virus on my computer. There are 3 symptoms: Banners are being displayed on pages that doesn't use commercials, for instance when viewing screen-shots on Steam. It is only displayed after the rest of the page has been loaded and seems to be injected into it. The whole page is replaced with a commercial with the option to skip the commercial. The page is replaced with a search window claiming that the page could not be found. I have tried to scan my computer with Antivir and Adaware but only found a couple of tracking cookies. I have run HijackThis but since this isn't really my area I haven't been able to discern what shouldn't be there except the line about zonealarm since I have uninstalled it. Is there anyone out there who is able to see if there is anything suspicious in the log-file at the end or has suggestions regarding programs that might be better to find the virus than Antivir and Adaware? • Where is the Microsoft.Windows.Controls.dll in the Nov 2009 Silverlight Toolkit?

  I want to use WrapPanel in Silverlight 3. It is apparently in the Silverlight Toolkit. All the information I can find on it say to download the toolkit, unzip the download, look in the folder binaries and you will find Microsoft.Windows.Controls.dll. This works for December 2008 version of the Silverlight toolkit just fine, since it is a zip file. But I would like the newest version. However, the November 2009 version of the Silverlight toolkit is an .msi file which installs but doesn't tell me where Microsoft.Windows.Controls.dll is. Nor is it in the Add Service | .NET tab. How can I get the Microsoft.Windows.Controls.dll from the November 2009 Silverlight Toolkit install so I can use WrapPanel in Silverlight 3?

• How can I build against Microsoft.Web.Administration (IIS 7.x) on a Windows 2003 build machine?

  Hi, I am writing a C# config app for (amongst other things) setting up websites. It's only required to support IIS 7.x (Windows 2008 / 2008 R2), and requiring the compatibility pack is a no-no, so I figured I'd just use the Microsoft.Web.Administration namespace. However, the only place I can find the assembly that contains this namespace (Microsoft.Web.Administration.dll) is from the IIS 7.x installation folder, and our main build machines are Windows 2003 and so cannot install IIS 7.x. One option is to mandate a 2008 build machine but we currently only have one so that's not ideal. We've already ruled out appcmd.exe. The other option is to make a package consisting of the dlls necessary to build against Microsoft.Web.Administration.dll. Has anyone tried that? Is there such a package already in existence, hidden somewhere on the MS download site? Thanks in advance.
