    Our application makes use of QueryPerformanceCounter to measure timings. When running it on Amazon EC2 instances we are noticing number that are out of whack. The symptoms look very similar to what has been reported with virtualized machines on HP proreliant servers, however all the articles state that this was not the case for Windows Server 2008. The articles recommended modifing the boot.ini to /USEPMTIMER - however, this seem to be missing from the documentation on bcdedit - which replaced boot.ini

  • XCode: Delete line hot-key

    I'm looking for a way to map some hot-keys to "delete the line that my cursor is on" in Xcode. I found "delete to end of line" and "delete to beginning of line" in the text key bindings, but I am missing how to completely delete the line no matter what I have selected. TextMate has this functionality mapped to Ctrl+Shift+D and I'd like the same thing if possible. Any ideas?

I need it to allow me to edit xsd files to help in writting an xml-based language specification. I need it to be visual to help with the design, making it clear.     I'm trying to install the latest version of #Develop but am getting the message This setup requires the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 to be installed I'm running Windows 7, and I've tried running the installer for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 plus the installer for the Windows 7 SDK. The installer just says to use the Control Panel to turn Windows Features on and off to configure .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Anyone got any suggestions ?

    I'm trying to write a word to a file using this function: extern void write_int(FILE * out, int num) { fwrite(&num,sizeof(int),1, out); if(ferror(out)){ perror(__func__); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } } But I get a segmentation fault whenever it tries to run the fwrite. I looked at the man page for fwrite(3) and I feel like I used it correctly, is there something I'm missing?

    Hi, I seem to have the following problem. Whenever i call ICA.EnumerateApplications(), it always returns a zero. Same with ICA.enumerateServers().     Did Spring abandon YAML to use as an alternative to .properties / .xml because of: [Spring Developer]: ...YAML was considered, but we thought that counting whitespace significant was a support nightmare in the making...   • How do I display the validation which failed in my Rails unit test?

    Summary: Failed unit tests tell me which assert (file:line) failed, but not which validation resulted in the failure. More info: I have 11 validations in one of my models. Unit testing is great, whether I run `rake test:units --trace' or 'ruby -Itest test/unit/mymodel_test.rb'. However, despite the fact that it tells me exactly which assert() failed me, I am not told which validation failed. I must be missing something obvious, because I can't ask Google this question well enough to get an answer. Thanks :)
