  • How to add 1 to the value of a column of an existing row in mysql

    Hello everyone, I have a table called pollData. It will always contain only 1 row. It has columns option1, option2, option3, option4, option5 each of type int. In the beginning, these columns have 0 as their value. How do I add 1 to any column, say option2? I mean do i retrieve the value of that column first, perform addition, and store back, or is there any auto increment function?

  • Implementing PyMyType_Check methods with Python C API?

    All the Python-provided types have a check method (i.e., PyList_Check) that allows you to check if an arbitrary PyObject* is actually a specific type. How can I implement this for my own types? I haven't found anything good online for this, though it seems like a pretty normal thing to want to do. Also, maybe I'm just terrible at looking through large source trees, but I cannot for the life of me find the implementation of PyList_Check or any of it's companions in the Python (2.5) source.

    Hello, I'm writing a standalone application and I thought using Entity Framework to store my data. At the moment the application is small so I can use a local database file to get started. The thing is that the local database file doesn't have the ability to auto generate integer primary keys as SQL Server does. Any suggestions how to manage primary keys for entities in a local database file that will be compatible with SQL Server in the future? Thanks, Ronny

    From my Django application I want to serve up secure photos. The photos are not for public consumption, I only want logged in users to have the ability to view them. I don't want to rely on obfuscated file id's (giving a photo a UUID of a long number) and count on that being hidden in my media folder. How would I store a photo securely on disk in my database and only stream it out to an authenticated session?

I would call this not easy one to guess: setCredentialTreatment("SHA1(CONCAT(username, SHA1(CONCAT(username, ?)))"); but it is not portable to all databases. Seems that Doctrine_Expression has only md5 expression portability.

    Is there an easy and straight-forward method to select elements based on their data attribute? For example, select all anchors that has data attribute named customerID which has value of 22.     A partner of mine asked this, Hello, I am using C# and DSL Tools for VS2005. I need to create Transactions to change some data but i want them to be hidden from the user, that means, to not show in the UNDO list in VS2005. store.UndoManager.UndoState = UndoState.Disabled; this solved the problem but is documented has obsolete and no alternative is given nor could i found any until now, any1 knows a non obsolete way to do this.
