  • Storing Requested URL in Global.asax without Session State in ASP.NET

    I have a complex URL rewriting scheme which breaks the built in Forms Authentication ReturnUrl mechanism. I would like to grab the requested URL for later redirection away from my login.aspx. I can get this URL in Application_BeginRequest via HttpContext.Current.Request.AppRelativeCurrentExecutionFilePath. However, Session state is not available in Application_BeginRequest. How can I store this URL prior to ASP.NET redirecting me to login.aspx?

The application server is multithreaded and it can accept lot of concurrent TCP connections and can process many requests per conenction. Every request will be handled by seperate detached thread.   • HttpServletRequest.getServerName() occasionally returning null in concurrent use?

    Under JBoss 4.0.1SP1, I have a servlet that makes multiple, concurrent calls to web services that are running under the same instance. I'm using request.getServerName() (on HttpServletRequest) to construct the endpoint URL. This normally works fine, but every once in a while returns null. I hadn't seen this before running the web service requests in parallel, and so I guessed that sharing the HttpServletRequest among threads won't always work or something. Any ideas on fixing this?

  • How does Apple update the Airport menu while it is open? (How to change NSMenu when it is already op

    I've got a statusbar item that pops open an NSMenu, and I have a delegate set and it's hooked up correctly (-(void)menuNeedsUpdate:(NSMenu *)menu works fine). That said, that method is setup to be called before the menu is displayed, I need to listen for that and trigger an asynchronous request, later updating the menu while it is open, and I can't figure out how that's supposed to be done.   • jQuery cannot retrieve data from localhost

    I have a very simple bit of jQuery to retrieve my latest Tweet $.getJSON("http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/username.json?count=1", function(data) { $("#tweet_text").html(data[0].text); }); This works fine on a simple HTML file on my desktop. However, once the file is accessed from my localhost (apache) no data is being returned. I was wondering if any part of Apache was blocking the request somehow? Or any other ideas?

    We have developed an ASP.NET website on a Windows 7 - 32 bit platform using Visual Studio 2008. This website is being hosted at a hosting company where we share a server with hundreds of other ASP.NET websites. We are in the process of changing our hosting to a dedicated Windows 2008 - 64 bit server. We have installed Visual Studio on this new server in order to debug our application.     I've been doing web development for a while and have yet to read a good answer to this question: Given a page that executes transactions through a postback, how do you prevent the user from duplicating the transaction when they do something as simple as hit the back button? I've explored trying expire the cache but I must admit I'm lacking in my understanding of ASP.NET caching. What is the approach I should use to make the old request stale and invalid? Thanks!

  • Django message doesn't expire

    My code in the view: from django.contrib import messages messages.add_message(request, messages.INFO, 'Hello world.') I don't want to show this code to the user the second time if he/she refreshes again. How do I go about doing that? Messages don't seem to have any sort of expiry setting.
