Thus,I think Perl,PHP,Python could not handle critical application(such as 100 million user,xx million request every second) well.But exceptions are exist,e.g. facebook(it is said facebook is written with PHP entirely),wikipeida.Moreover,I heard google use Python extensively.   • How to store UISegmentedControle state in NSUserdefaults

    The problem is when de selectedSegmentIndex is unselected: "UISegmentedControlNoSegment" alias "-1". The other states (0, 1, 2 , etc.), I can store as Integers and retrieve with carTypeSegmentedControl.selectedSegmentIndex = [defaults integerForKey:@"typeOfCar"]; But -1 is no NSInteger. I also tried to remove the Integer out of the NSUserdefaults but a request would return an "0", which is not acceptable. So, is there another easy way? tnx for reading

    Hey, is there a way to find out the last time a contact was modified? I can't seem to find a variable for it. The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to do a sync of the contacts to my web server and I don't feel like checking for each contact with a HTTP request if it needs updating. So I was thinking to check the date of the last update to the date of the last sync.

    The following .htaccess file does not work: SSLrequireSSL RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^secure\.neuralfutures\.com [NC] RewriteRule (.*) - [F] I'm trying to prevent access to anything but "https://secure.neuralfutures.com/docs/", i.e. "https://www.neuralfutures.com/docs/" will fail. I also seem to be running into caching issues: if I upload the new .htaccess with CuteFTP, then do a file refresh in FireFox, it doesn't seem to have any effect on the output at all. I can tell this because if I comment out SSLrequireSSL, it still disallows a http:// request.

When I removed the Warehouse[] from user structure, it starts to be ok again and HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated become true after I Login. What is the reason to this weird behaviour?

    I have a groovy/grails application that needs to serve images It works fine on my dev box, the image is returned properly. Here's the start of the returned JPEG, as seen by od -cx 0000000 377 330 377 340 \0 020 J F I F \0 001 001 001 001 , d8ff e0ff 1000 464a 4649 0100 0101 2c01 but on the production box, there's some garbage in front, and the d8ff e0ff before the 1000 is missing 0000000 ? ** ** ? ** ** ? ** ** ? ** ** \0 020 J F bfef efbd bdbf bfef efbd bdbf 1000 464a 0000020 I F \0 001 001 001 \0 H \0 H \0 \0 ? ** ** ? 4649 0100 0101 4800 4800 0000 bfef efbd It's the exact same code. I just moved the .war over and run it on a different machine. (Isn't Java supposed to be write once, run everywhere?) Any ideas? An "encoding" problem? The code is sent to the response like this: response.contentType = "image/jpeg"; response.outputStream << out; Here's the code that locates the image on an internal application server and re-serves the image. On my production machine, the binary bytes in the image are re-encoded/escaped as if they were UTF-8 (see Michael's explanation below). It works fine on my development machine.

    Hi Folks, I know about ajax cross-domain policy. So I can't just call "http://www.google.com" over a ajax HTTP request and display the results somewhere on my site. I tried it with dataType "jsonp", that actually would work, but I get a syntax error (obviously because the received data is not json formated) Is there any other possiblity to receive/display data from a foreign domain ? iFrames follow the same policy? The work should be the same as more_threads is using 4 times as many threads but with each thread doing 4 times less work. Significant results form the profiler results are as followsL: more_threads: GPU runtime = 1474 us,reg per thread = 6,occupancy=1,branch=83746,divergent_branch = 26,instructions = 584065,gst request=1084552 less_threads: GPU runtime = 921 us,reg per thread = 14,occupancy=0.25,branch=20956,divergent_branch = 26,instructions = 312663,gst request=677381 As I said previously, the run time of the kernel using more threads is longer, this could be due to the increased number of instructions. Why are there more instructions? Why is there any branching, let alone divergent branching, considering there is no conditional code? Why are there any gst requests when there is no global memory access? What is going on here! Thanks
