  • How to cancel a touch sequence

    - by Alex
I have an UIImage view that responds to touch events. I want to cancel the touch sequence if the touch goes outside of certain bounds. How can I do that? I know that I can inspect the coordinates of the touch object, what I don't know is how to cancel the sequence. I don't see any event in the API that allows for that.

  • How do travel search engines & aggregators get their source data?

    - by Alex
I'm tossing around a few ideas for travel search engines and I'm wondering how these sites get their source data. Do they scrape all the content from airline homepages? This seems like an enormous job given the number of airlines etc out there. Is there some API or web service standard that every airline conforms too? Am I going to have to negotiate access to the data APIs for every airline I wish to index?

Note: This happens only in Windows 7 & only when another Workbook was already opened. Any clues.

  • json data not rendered in backbone view

    - by user2535706
    I have been trying to render the json data to the view by calling the rest api and the code is as follows: var Profile = Backbone.Model.extend({ dataType:'jsonp', defaults: { intuitId: null, email: null, type: null }, }); var ProfileList = Backbone.Collection.extend({ model: Profile, url: '/v1/entities/6414256167329108895' }); var ProfileView = Backbone.View.extend({ el: "#profiles", template: _.template($('#profileTemplate').html()), render: function() { _.each(this.model.models, function(profile) { var profileTemplate = this.template(this.model.toJSON()); $(this.el).append(tprofileTemplate); }, this); return this; } }); var profiles = new ProfileList(); var profilesView = new ProfileView({model: profiles}); profiles.fetch(); profilesView.render(); and the html file is as follows: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>SPA Example</title> <!-- <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="src/css/reset.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="src/css/harmony_compiled.css" /> --> </head> <body class="harmony"> <header> <div class="title">SPA Example</div> </header> <div id="profiles"></div> <script id="profileTemplate" type="text/template"> <div class="profile"> <div class="info"> <div class="intuitId"> <%= intuitId %> </div> <div class="email"> <%= email %> </div> <div class="type"> <%= type %> </div> </div> </div> </script> </body> </html> This gives me an error and the render function isn't invoking properly and the render function is called even before the REST API returns the JSON response.   • How to build a client to Google wave

    - by Haggai
Hi, By looking at current Google wave APIs, I can't find a way to create an alternative client. It's not a robot or gadget, and the embed API is very slim. Nevertheless, I do see some clients out there - such as Waver and Waveboard. How do they do it ? is it based on XMPP ?

  • Why do I get so many errors building my Android project with Ant?

    - by synic
Now that I sort of know my way around the SDK/API, I've switched from Eclipse back to my favorite text editor, which means I have to use ant to build my project, however: It seems every other time I compile the project, a lot of drawables get corrupted, resources lose their ids (resulting in NPEs in the code), or classes throw "Verify Errors". The only way to fix this is by removing the bin and gen folders, and recompiling, which is obviously annoying. Is there any way to avoid this? btw, I'm using ant 1.7.1, java version "1.6.0_20"

  • Grails populate params with XML from POST request

    - by othman
I have a RestFull grails api that i expose through grails Controller. I need to automatically bind the xml data sent in a POST request. I don't think using groovy bindData(object, params) works as the params reference seems not having the xml elements. i use the parseRequest=true in the UrlMappings but yet the params Object does'nt have the xml elements. am i missing some other config so that my params object get automatically populated with the xml body elements?

  • How does one use TrafficStats.incrementOperationCount()?

    - by Dheeraj
The documentation for TrafficStats.incrementOperationCount() says: Increment count of network operations performed under the given accounting tag. This can be used to derive bytes-per-operation. I want to find the total number of bytes transferred during a particular network operation. Since this API claims to help in deriving bytes-per-operation, can someone help me understand how to use it?

  • Batch adding attribute to attribute sets

    - by JonB
I have a Magento installation with around 60 attribute sets. I need to add a new attribute to each of the attribute sets. There doesn't seem to anyway of doing this in the admin control panel. I am sure I can work it out by manually entering the correct fields into the database, but is there a way of doing this through the API or through the Import / Export profiles? Any suggestions would be gladly received.

  • apache httpclient and spawning a browser that will share the session

    - by Nick
I'm have a java program that uses Apache httpclient api. This is used to login to and communicate to a webapp. Once logged in, there's a situation in which the program issues an execute process to open up firefox to hit the webapp and allow the user to see data in the browser. Since the java program is already logged in, is there a way to share that current session PHPSESSID so that the spawned firefox is already logged in and working in that same session?

  • Affine Transforms with Demo App

    - by Dex
I have a demo app here https://github.com/rdetert/image-transform-test After importing an image, you can pinch, zoom, rotate the image. What I want to do is save out a 640x480 image (landscape mode) that looks identical to the live preview. So if there are 100px bars of empty space on the sides, I need the same empty bars in the final output (scaled appropriately). This is proving to be more difficult than I thought it would be. I can't quite get it to come out right after days of working on it. The magic method that generates the final image is called -(void)generateFinalImage Good luck! ;)

  • Reading a simple Avro file from HDFS

    - by John Galt... who
I am trying to do a simple read of an Avro file stored in HDFS. I found out how to read it when it is on the local file system.... FileReader reader = DataFileReader.openReader(new File(filename), new GenericDatumReader()); for (GenericRecord datum : fileReader) { String value = datum.get(1).toString(); System.out.println("value = " value); } reader.close(); My file is in HDFS, however. I cannot give the openReader a Path or an FSDataInputStream. How can I simply read an Avro file in HDFS? EDIT: I got this to work by creating a custom class (SeekableHadoopInput) that implements SeekableInput. I "stole" this from "Ganglion" on github. Still, seems like there would be a Hadoop/Avro integration path for this. Thanks
