  • stop form during submission if it validates incorrectly

    I am trying to use JavaScript to validate forms but if the form doesn't validate, I don't want the form to be sent to the "action" page. The validator: <script> function formSubmit() { document.getElementById("signup_form").submit(); var x=document.forms["signup_form"]["tname"].value; if (x==null || x=="") { alert("First name must be filled out"); return false; } } </script> The form itself: <form action="some_file.php" method="post" id="signup_form" name="signup_form" onsubmit="return formSubmit()"> But all this does is if the tname field empty, it will return an alert but as soon as the user hits ok, the form then redirects to some_file.php. What have I missed here? The submit button: <a href="" onclick="return formSubmit(); return false" class="purplebutton">Signup</a> So what have I missed? How do I avoid this in the future?

    How can i use regular expressions with linq to sql in the asp.net mvc(C#) application? The columns in my MSSQL table (Products) has some special characters like (, - % ',.....). While searching for a product i need to search without that special chareters. For ex.: I have a product say (ABC-Camp's / One), when i search for "abccamp", it should pull the product.   • Calling class in Java after editing file used in as source for table

    I'm currently working on a project, I'll try to subrscibe first. I save data into text file, that I use as a source for browser of that data. The browser is based on table that contains the data. I have to rewrite the source file everytime I delete or edit data. That's where the problem comes in. After deleting or editing data I call a method to create the table again, but the table never creates. Is it possibly made by editing the file and calling the method right after that? If I restart my app the table is successfully created with right data. Take in note that I don't get any error message.   • Identifying control characters in Perl

    Actually, I am doing one project. In that I want to implement the command line features as like in linux terminal. And I saw this in ftp command also. If I press tab I need to list the commands. If I press control characters I need to get that characters based on that I will do some action. And If I give any commands it should execute. For this I tried with Term::ReadKey that is non canonical mode. But here I am facing more problems like, If I press any control character or arrow I got three characters. Ex: for up arrow I got ascii as 279165. Can anyone help me out of this problem? And I feel that there will be a better solution for this. Thanks in Advance.

    As a simplified example I am executing the following IEnumerable<string> files = Directory.EnumerateFiles(path, @"2010*.xml", SearchOption.TopDirectoryOnly).ToList(); In my results set I am getting a few files which do no match the file pattern. According to msdn searchPattern wildcard is "Zero or more characters" and not a reg ex. An example is that I am getting a file name back as "2004_someothername.xml". For information there are in excess of 25,000 files in the folder. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

    I need to be able to split an input String by commas, semi-colons or white-space (or a mix of the three). I would also like to treat multiple consecutive delimiters in the input as a single delimiter. Here's what I have so far: String regex = "[,;\\s]+"; return input.split(regex); This works, except for when the input string starts with one of the delimiter characters, in which case the first element of the result array is an empty String. I do not want my result to have empty Strings, so that something like, ",,,,ZERO; , ;;ONE ,TWO;," returns just a three element array containing the capitalized Strings. Is there a better way to do this than stripping out any leading characters that match my reg-ex prior to invoking String.split? Thanks in advance!

  • MySQL: Return grouped fields where the group is not empty, effeciently

    In one statement I'm trying to group rows of one table by joining to another table. I want to only get grouped rows where their grouped result is not empty. Ex. Items and Categories SELECT Category.id FROM Item, Category WHERE Category.id = Item.categoryId GROUP BY Category.id HAVING COUNT(Item.id) > 0 The above query gives me the results that I want but this is slow, since it has to count all the rows grouped by Category.id. What's a more effecient way? I was trying to do a Group By LIMIT to only retrieve one row per group. But my attempts failed horribly. Any idea how I can do this? Thanks

    I have 1 result and which i will receive in Bank account, Based on that account i have to Put a balance to user account. How can you find the Handling cost from total tried 491.50 / 0.95 = 517.36 which is wrong ? It should be 500.00 (to my expectation) User balance requires 500.00 When 500.00 selected he gets 5% discount There is a handling cost for this ex: 1) Discount: 500.00 - 5% = 475.00 2) Handling cost: (475.00 x 0.034) + 0.35 = 16.50 3) Total: 475.00 + 16.50 = 491.50 So problem is from 491.50, i have to find atleast handling cost to get promised Balance. Any solution ? Cant figure it out myself...
