• Couldn't attachto Firefox 3.x browser by using Browser.AttachTo<FireFox>method in WatiN 2.0 RC1

  I am using HTTPWatch automation API to launch a new Firefox instance like that: HttpWatch.Controller ct = new HttpWatch.Controller(); HttpWatch.Plugin plugin = ct.FireFox.New(""); plugin.GotoURL("http://www.google.com"); These codes could start a Firefox browser successfully. Then I want to control the browser in WatiN 2.0: FireFox ff = Browser.AttachTo<FireFox>(Find.ByTitle("Google")); WatiN could not find Firefox window (JSSH plugin has been added in Firefox). But the same test on IE 7 is ok. I even tried to open a Firefox window manually and visit google.com page. WaitN in IE7 could attach to the browser, but Firefox failed. Is there anything wrong with my codes? Or any other advice? Thanks in advance! • Why does calling setScaleX during pinch zoom gesture cause flicker?

  I am trying to create a zoomable container and I am targeting API 14+ In my onScale (i am using the ScaleGestureDetector to detect pinch-zoom) I am doing something like this: public boolean onScale (ScaleGestureDetector detector) { float scaleFactor = detector.getScaleFactor(); setScaleX(getScaleX() * scaleFactor); setScaleY(getScaleY() * scaleFactor); return true; }; It works but the zoom is not smooth. In fact it noticeably flickers. I also tried it with hardware layer thinking that the scaling would happen on the GPU once the texture was uploaded and thus would be super fast. But it made no difference - the zoom is not smooth and flickers weirdly sometimes. What am I doing wrong?

Users should have two possibilities of giving the location: automatically from iPhone build-in GPS by finding a specific point on a map (Google Maps) I know how to user CLLocationManager to get current position coordinates and I know how to add Google Maps using JS API. What I would like to know if how can I get coordinates for a specific point on a map that user clicks. Is that possible with UIWebView or is there any other way of getting the values I need?

  I have a Python module that I would like to upload to PyPI. So far, it is working for Python 2.x. It shouldn't be too hard to write a version for 3.x now. But, after following guidelines for making modules in these places: Distributing Python Modules The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Packaging it's not clear to me how to support multiple source distributions for different versions of Python, and it's not clear if/how PyPI could support it. I envisage I would have separate code for: 2.x 2.6 (maybe, as a special case to use the new buffer API) 3.x How is it possible to set up a Python module in PyPI so that someone can do: easy_install modulename and it will install the right thing whether the user is using 2.x or 3.x?

• How to filter the jqGrid data NOT using the built in search/filter box

  I want users to be able to filter grid data without using the intrinsic search box. I have created two input fields for date (from and to) and now need to tell the grid to adopt this as its filter and then to request new data. Forging a server request for grid data (bypassing the grid) and setting the grid's data to be the response data wont work - because as soon as the user tries to re-order the results or change the page etc. the grid will request new data from the server using a blank filter. I cant seem to find grid API to achieve this - does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

• HttpClient commons-httpclient Digest Authentication.

  I am getting this error from a PostMethod using commons-httpclient No credentials available for DIGEST 'realm'@localhost and a 401 back from the server. I followed the example from this post java client program to send digest authentication request using HttpClient API (2) However, it still seems to fail. I am trying to connect to a XML-RPC service, we use digest authentication. I tried using the Apache xmlrpc library but it seems to not support digest authentication. Any ideas? Thanks.

• How to use jxl open file turn off gridlines and save

  I am new to jxl, but I have what I think is a pretty simple requirement. I want to take an existing .xls file with three tabs, turn off the gridlines on all 3, and then save it again. It looks from the API like there is a function to handle gridlines setPrintGridLines(boolean b) I would love it if someone could give me sample code - or a link pointing me in the right direction - on how to do this.   I'm looking for a Java library for SWIFT messages. I want to parse SWIFT messages into an object model validate SWIFT messages (including SWIFT network validation rules) build / change SWIFT messages by using an object model Theoretically, I need to support all SWIFT message types. But at the moment I need MT103+, MT199, MT502, MT509, MT515 and MT535. So far I've looked at two libraries AnaSys Message Objects (link text) Datamation SWIFT Message Suite (link text) Both libraries allow to accomplish the tasks mentioned above but in both cases I'm not really happy. AnaSys uses a internal XML representation for all SWIFT messages which you need to know in order to access the fields of a message. And you need to operate on the DOM of the XML representation, there is no way to say "get the contents of field '50K' of the SWIFT message". And the Datamation library seems to have the nicer API but does not find all errors. So does anyone know other SWIFT libraries to use?

  On Windows XP Just downloaed and unzipped google app engine java sdk to C:\Program Files\appengine-java-sdk I have jdk installed in C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_20. I ran the sample application by appengine-java-sdk\bin\dev_appserver.cmd appengine-java-sdk\demos\guestbook\war Then I visited localhost:8080 to find : HTTP ERROR 500 Problem accessing /. Reason: Error running javac.exe compiler Caused by: Error running javac.exe compiler at org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.compilers.DefaultCompilerAdapter.executeExternalCompile(DefaultCompilerAdapter.java:473) How to Fix it? My JAVA_HOME points to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_20.   I am using FB.ui with the display parameter set to popup. When the method is 'stream.publish', it autoresizes when the content is loaded. However, when using 'fbml.dialog' (in order to display a multi-friend selector) it shows a size that I'm not able to change (and the content is displayed cropped). I have tried with the following approaches, with no luck: FB.ui({ method: 'fbml.dialog', size: {width: 800, height: 500}, ... FB.ui({ method: 'fbml.dialog', width: 800, height: 500, ... Also I've been looking at the API source code, and it declares the method this way: Method declaration: 'fbml.dialog': { size : { width: 575, height: 300 }, url : 'render_fbml.php', loggedOutIframe : true }...   Hello. I'm playing a little bit with the new StackOverflow API. Unfortunately, my JSON is a bit weak, so I need some help. I'm trying to deserialize this JSON of a User: {"user":{ "user_id": 1, "user_type": "moderator", "creation_date": 1217514151, "display_name": "Jeff Atwood", ... "accept_rate": 100 }} into an object which I've decorated with JsonProperty attributes: [JsonObject(MemberSerialization.OptIn)] public class User { [JsonProperty("user_id", Required = Required.Always)] public virtual long UserId { get; set; } [JsonProperty("display_name", Required = Required.Always)] public virtual string Name { get; set; } ... } I get the following exception: Newtonsoft.Json.JsonSerializationException: Required property 'user_id' not found in JSON. So although for example a "T Shirt" may have 10 Medias associated, my result should be something similar to this Product.Id Product.Title MediaId 1 T Shirt 21 2 Shoes Null 3 Hat 43 I have tried the following solutions using JoinType.LeftOuterJoin 1) productCriteria.SetResultTransformer(Transformers.DistinctRootEntity); This hasnt worked as the transform is done code side and as I have .SetFirstResult() and .SetMaxResults() for paging purposes it wont work. 2) .SetProjection( Projections.Distinct( Projections.ProjectionList() .Add(Projections.Alias(Projections.Property("Id"), "Id")) ... .SetResultTransformer(Transformers.AliasToBean()); This hasn't worked as I cannot seem to populate a value for Medias.Id in the projections. (Similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1036116/nhibernate-criteria-api-projections) Any help would be greatly appreciated

• WPD MTP data stream hanging on Release

  I've come across a weird problem when reading data from a MTP-compatible mobile device using the WPD (Windows Portable Devices) API, under Windows 8 (not tried any other Windows versions yet). The symptom is, when calling Release on an IStream interface obtained via the IPortableDeviceResources::GetStream function, occasionally the Release call will hang and not return until the device is disconnected from the PC. After some experimentation I've discovered that this never happens as long as the entire contents of the stream have been read. But if the stream has only been partially read (say, the first 256Kb of the file), it can happen seemingly at random (although quite frequently). This has been reproduced with an iPhone and a Windows Phone 8 mobile, so it does not seem to be device-specific. Has anyone come across this sort of issue before? And more importantly, does anyone know of a way to solve it other than by always reading the entire contents of the stream? Thanks!

I suppose I found the issue: second parameter of CreateProcess Win API function lpCommandLine has max length 32,768 characters. But in my case it is more than 32,768 characters. How I can solve this issue?

• Django CSRF framework cannot be disabled and is breaking my site

  The django csrf middleware can't be disabled. I've commented it out from my Middleware of my project but my logins are failing due to missing CSRF issues. I'm working from the Django trunk. How can CSRF cause issues if it is not enabled in middleware? I have to disable it because there are lots of POST requests on my site that CSRF just breaks. Any feedback on how I can completely disable CSRF in a django trunk project? The "new' CSRF framework from Django's trunk is also breaking an external site that is coming in and doing a POST on a URL I'm giving them (this is part of a restful API.) I can't disable the CSRF framework as I said earlier, how can I fix this?

• Spring 3 Controller Exception handler implementation problems

  I was hoping to implement a single "ExceptionController" to handle exceptions that are thrown in execution of my other controllers' methods. I hadn't specified any HandlerExceptionResolver in my application context so according to the API documentation the AnnotationMethodHandlerExceptionResolver should be started. Verified as such in the source. So I am curious to know why the following isn't working. @Controller public class ExceptionController { @ExceptionHandler(NullPointerException.class) public ModelAndView handleNullPointerException(NullPointerException ex) { // Do some stuff log.error(logging stuff) return myModelAndView; } } @Controller public class AnotherController { @RequestMapping(value="/nullpointerpath") public String throwNullPointer() { throw new NullPointerException(); } } I see in the debug logs that the three default exception handlers are asked for handling of the exception, but nothing is done and I see "DispatcherServlet - Could not complete request". Followed by the user being displayed the stacktrace and a 500 Internal error.

• SYSTEM_HANDLE_INFORMATION structure

  From where does this structure originates? I know that it is declared in famous ntdll.h and is a part of undocumented windows API. But isn't it vary between different versions of windows? Is there a way to dump this structure from working system? I tried 'dt SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION' in Windbg and 'type SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION' in SoftIce but all I get is 'no such symbol' message. I also dumped ntoskrnl.pdb with PdbDump.exe and searched among the dumped structures - and could not find neither SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION nor SYSTEM_HANLDE. Could you help me?

• Android daemon process

  Is it possible (without violating any licenses) to write a native C/C++ application on top of the Android OS and make it run as a daemon process? There are already several daemon process' running which one can see with the 'ps' command, the legal part concerns me the most. And also the lack of documentation on how to exactly do this. For the writing part, I guess one could use basic Linux programming concepts, since Android supports at least to some level the standard Posix API. To make it run as the phone boots, some modifications is of course required in init as well. I have no plans to have this app in the Android Market, so installing it manually to the phone is not a problem. As long as it does not require re-compiling the whole OS or kernel. I really appreciate all info on this topic, since there's isn't much available. Thanks.

• how to parse a Date string to java.Date

  Hi: I have a date string and I wang to parse it to normal date use the java Date API,the following is my code: public static void main(String[] args) { String date="2010-10-02T12:23:23Z"; String pattern="yyyy-MM-ddThh:mm:ssZ"; SimpleDateFormat sdf=new SimpleDateFormat(pattern); try { Date d=sdf.parse(date); System.out.println(d.getYear()); } catch (ParseException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } } However I got a exception:java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal pattern character 'T' So I wonder if i have to split the string and parse it manually? BTW, I have tried to add a single quote character on either side of the T: String pattern="yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh:mm:ssZ"; It also does not work.
