  • Does JSLint parse DOM functions?

    - by Paul
    I tried to use the parse() function of JSLint to parse three pieces of JavaScript code: function(b, c){var a = b + c; return a; } window.addEventListener('click', click_hanlder, true); document.documentElement.innerHTML; Here's the code, which is copied and pasted from the JSLint self-parse example: ` try { parse = make_parse(); var source = "something to parse";//replaced by the code above tree = parse(source); if (tree) { document.write(JSON.stringify(tree, ['key', 'name', 'message', 'value', 'arity', 'first', 'second', 'third', 'fourth'], 4)); } } catch (e) { document.write(JSON.stringify(e, ['name', 'message', 'from', 'to', 'key', 'value', 'arity', 'first', 'second', 'third', 'fourth'], 4)); } ` The output: returns a correct tree. returns a tree with only one node of "window". crashes the browser. I'm wondering whether JSLint doesn't support DOM function.

  • C++ Access to MSSQL from Linux

    - by Meloun
    Hi, I need to write some data to mssql database from linux in c++. I found this sqlapi.com But I think, at first ODBC driver has to be installed an has to work. I folowed this adminlife.net/allgemein/mssql-zugriff-unter-debian-etch-mit-unixodbc-und-freetds/ or this http://b.gil.megiteam.pl/2009/11/linux-odbc-to-mssql/ But it didnt work, the port 1433 seems to be closed ($ sudo nmap -PN -sU -p 1433 192.168.56.101 - port "filtered") isql -v sqlexpress sa - wait with no response or get "coulndt connect to sql" From other PC with Windows I have no problem to write data in mssql, so server should be right configured to remote access. any idea?

  • Proper Regex to find and replace escaped UTF-8 strings

    - by Piet Binnenbocht
    (edited) I am reading a JSON file that includes some UTF-8 characters that are encoded like this: "\uf36b". I am trying to write a RegExp to convert this to an HTML entity that looks like "&#x1F36B;". This displays the character correctly in my html page. I haven't been able to correctly display the character that should be associated with "\uf36b", especially when in a longer sentence that also includes other text. How can I write a regexp that replaces strings like "\uf4d6" and "\uf36b" but leaves other text alone? Example: var str = "I need \uf36b #chocolate"; This should be converted to: I need &#x1F36B; #chocolate;

  • How to find the formula of best case and worst case of my algorithm?

    - by rachel7660
    I was given a task. Write an algorithm so that, the input of 2 lists of data, will have at least one in common. So, this is my algorithm: (I write the code in php) $arrayA = array('5', '6', '1', '2', '7'); $arrayB = array('9', '2', '1', '8', '3'); $arrayC = array(); foreach($arrayA as $val){ if(in_array($val, $arrayB)){ array_push($arrayC, $val); } } Thats my own algo, not sure if its a good one. So, based on my algorithm, how to find the formula of best case and worst case (big O)? Note: Please do let me know, if my algorithm is wrong. My goal is " input of 2 lists of data, will have at least one in common."

  • Python and sqlite3 - importing and exporting databases

    - by JPC
    I'm trying to write a script to import a database file. I wrote the script to export the file like so: import sqlite3 con = sqlite3.connect('../sqlite.db') with open('../dump.sql', 'w') as f: for line in con.iterdump(): f.write('%s\n' % line) Now I want to be able to import that database. I tried: import sqlite3 con = sqlite3.connect('../sqlite.db') f = open('../dump.sql','r') str = f.read() con.execute(str) but I'm not allowed to execute more than one statement. Is there a way to get it to run a .sql script directly?

  • Upload/Download files with ASP.Net using Visual Studio Web Server

    - by jlnorsworthy
    I need to upload image files and store them on the webserver, then be able to display them in html. I'm currently using AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory to get a path to read and write files. Firefox won't display the image as I just get an img tag with "src='C:...' Is it possible to read/write files like this with Visual Studio web server? I know it'll be possible with IIS, but I don't want to do that if I don't have to (pretty new to web development) I'm implementing this with ASP.Net MVC 2, but I don't think that is relevant.

  • MySQL Locks: order of unblocked threads

    - by teehoo
    I have a MySQL ISAM table being accessed my multiple php instances. Right now I'm using a WRITE lock to serialize access to this table. My question is how do I ensure that the PHP instances get served on a First-Come-First-Serve basis? Or is this the default behaviour? The official MySQL documentation doesn't mention anything about the blocked thread order for threads of the same lock type (ie multiple threads attempting a WRITE LOCK). It only mentions that a WRITER will jump to the front of the waiting queue if READERS are waiting.

  • Passing array to function with pointer loses array size information!

    - by Narek
    If I write int main() { int a[100] = {1,2,3,4,}; cout<<sizeof(a)/sizeof(a[0])<<endl; return 0; } I get 400! If I write void func(int *a); int main() { int a[100] = {1,2,3,4,}; func(a); return 0; } void func(int *a) { cout<<sizeof(a)/sizeof(a[0])<<endl; } Then I get 400! So why passing array to function with pointer loses array size information?

  • When to use Hibernate?

    - by Ramo
    Hi All, I was asked in an interview this question so I answered with the following: -Better Performance: - Efficient queries. - 1st and 2nd level caching. - Good caching gives better scalability. - Good Database Portability: - Changing the DB is as easy as changing the dialect configuration. - Increased Developer Productivity: - Think only in object terms not in query language terms. But I also feel that systems fall in one of the below categories, and Hibernate may not be suited for all these cases, I'm interested in your thoughts about this, do you agree with me? please let me know when would use HB in the following case and why. Write Only Systems: Read Only Systems: Write Mostly Systems: Read Mostly Systems: Regards Ramo

  • What web platform is right for me?

    - by egervari
    I've been looking at web frameworks like Rails, Grails, etc. I'm used to doing applications in Spring Framework with Hibernate... and I want something more productive. One of the things I realized is that while some of the things in Grails is sexy, there are some serious problems with it. Grails' controllers: 1) are implemented awfully. They don't seem to be able to extend from super classes at runtime. I tried this to add base actions and helper methods, and this seems to cause grails to blow up. 2) are based on an obsolete request parameters model (rather than form backing objects, which are much nicer). 3) are hard to test. Command objects are treated totally differently... and it's actually MUCH harder to write the test than it is to write the controller code. 4) Command objects operate totally differently. They are pre-validated and bound, which causes a lot of inconsistencies than basic parameter model. 5) Command objects are not reusable, and it's a pain in the rear to reuse most of the stuff from the domain classes, like constraints and fields. This is TRIVIAL to do in basic Spring. Why the hell was it not trivial to do in Grails? 6) The scaffolding that is generated is pure crap. It doesn't generalize inserts and updates... and it actually copy/pastes a pile of code in two views: create.gsp and edit.gsp. The views themselves are gargantuan piles of doggie do-do. This is further compounded by the fact that it uses low-level parameters and not objects. Integration tests are 30x slower than a Spring integration test. It is disgusting. Some mocking tests are so hard to write and aren't guaranteed to work when it's deployed, that I think it discourages fast, tdd test cycles. Most things seem to screw up grails while it's running, like adding a taglib, or anything really. The server restart problem wasn't solved at all. I'm starting to think going with Spring/Hibernate/Java is the only way to go. While there is a pretty big cost at startup, I know it'll eventually smooth out. It sucks I can't use a language like Scala... because idiomatically, it is so incompatible with Hibernate. This app is also not a run-of-the-mill UI over a database. It's got some of that, but it's not going to be a slouch. I am deathly scared of Grails now because of how crap it is in the Controller layer. Suggestions on what I can do?

  • SimpleXMLElement empty object

    - by Mike
    Hi, I am trying to parse an xml file using XmlReader but although I am getting a return from the xml file for the (commission) node for some reason I am getting an empty SimpleXMLElement Object returned as well. I don't know if its something to do with while loop,switch or something I missed in the parse setup. This is the xml file I am trying to read from, as you can see there is only 1 result returned: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <cj-api> <commissions total-matched="1"> <commission> <action-status> new </action-status> <action-type> lead </action-type> <aid> 10730981 </aid> <commission-id> 1021015513 </commission-id> <country> </country> <event-date> 2010-05-08T08:08:55-0700 </event-date> <locking-date> 2010-06-10 </locking-date> <order-id> 345007 </order-id> <original> true </original> <original-action-id> 787692438 </original-action-id> <posting-date> 2010-05-08T10:01:22-0700 </posting-date> <website-id> 3201921 </website-id> <cid> 2815954 </cid> <advertiser-name> SPS EurosportBET </advertiser-name> <commission-amount> 0 </commission-amount> <order-discount> 0 </order-discount> <sid> 0 </sid> <sale-amount> 0 </sale-amount> </commission> </commissions> </cj-api> This is my parser: <?php // read $response (xml feed) $file = "datafeed.xml"; $xml = new XMLReader; $xml->open($file); // loop to read in data while ($xml->read()) { switch ($xml->name) { // find the parent node for each commission payment case 'commission': // initalise xml parser $dom = new DomDocument(); $dom_node = $xml ->expand(); $element = $dom->appendChild($dom_node); $dom_string = $dom->saveXML($element); $commission = new SimpleXMLElement($dom_string); // read in data $action_status = $commission->{'action-status'}; $action_type = $commission->{'action-type'}; $aid = $commission->{'aid'}; $commission_id = $commission->{'commission-id'}; $country = $commission->{'country'}; $event_date = $commission->{'event-date'}; $locking_date = $commission->{'locking-date'}; $order_id = $commission->{'order-id'}; $original = $commission->{'original'}; $original_action_id = $commission->{'original_action-id'}; $posting_date = $commission->{'posting-date'}; $website_id = $commission->{'website-id'}; $cid = $commission->{'cid'}; $advertiser_name = $commission->{'advertiser-name'}; $commission_amount = $commission->{'commission-amount'}; $order_discount = $commission->{'order-discount'}; $sid = $commission->{'sid'}; $sale_amount = $commission->{'sale-amount'}; print_r($aid); break; } } ?> The result is : SimpleXMLElement Object ( [0] => 10730981 ) SimpleXMLElement Object ( ) Why is it returning the second object: SimpleXMLElement Object ( ) and what do I need to do correct it? Thanks.

  • Help with IE bugs when writing JSON via an ASPX response

    - by Jereme
    I have an ASPX page that I am using to write JSON. It works great in Firefox and Chrome, but when I try and use it in IE 8 it gives me an "The XML page cannot be displayed" error instead of allowing jQuery to load the JSON being written by the response. Any ideas? Here is what my code looks like: protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e) { Response.Clear(); Response.ClearHeaders(); Response.ContentType = "application/json"; Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache); Response.Write(string.Format("[ {{ \"Foo\": \"{0}\", \"bar\": \"{1}\" }} ]", "Foo Content", "Bar Content")); Response.End(); }

  • Django Redundancy

    - by Sunsu
    I've read many things about scaling Django and the new multiple-DB support makes it so much easier. However, I have not been able to find much information on good ways to create a fully redundant system (not just one that scales). I realize there are many things that go into this problem, but the real thing I'm having trouble solving well is Database redundancy. Is it possible to set up a "write slave" using django's new multiple-DB support? If I had IP failover support it seems like having a write slave would help solve the problem. Simple MySQL replication doesn't seem like it will work due to slave lag right? What's the typical method of creating a redundant database system? Any input or guidance you guys have would be greatly appreciated. I realize I could be asking the wrong questions!

  • improve my python program to fetch the desire rows by using if condition

    unique.txt file contains: 2 columns with columns separated by tab. total.txt file contains: 3 columns each column separated by tab. • Are C++ Reads and Writes of an int atomic

    - by theschmitzer
    I have two threads, one updating an int and one reading it. This value is a statistic where the order of the read and write is irrelevant. My question is, do I need to synchronize access to this multi-byte value anyway? Or, put another way, can part of the write be complete and get interrupted, and then the read happen. For example, think of value = ox0000FFFF increment value to 0x00010000 Is there a time where the value looks like 0x0001FFFF that I should be worried about? Certainly the larger the type, the more possible something like this is I've always synchronized these types of accesses, but was curious what the community thought.

  • Modifiers in Makefile rule's dependency list

    - by gnu_maker
    The problem is fairly simple. I am trying to write a rule, that given the name of the required file will be able to tailor its dependencies. Let's say I have two programs: calc_foo and calc_bar and they generate a file with output dependent on the parameter. My target would have a name 'target_*_*'; for example, 'target_foo_1' would be generated by running './calc_foo 1'. The question is, how to write a makefile that would generate outputs of the two programs for a range of parameters?

  • StreamWriter appends random data

    - by void
    Hi I'm seeing odd behaviour using the StreamWriter class writing extra data to a file using this code: public void WriteToCSV(string filename) { StreamWriter streamWriter = null; try { streamWriter = new StreamWriter(filename); Log.Info("Writing CSV report header information ... "); streamWriter.WriteLine("\"{0}\",\"{1}\",\"{2}\",\"{3}\"", ((int)CSVRecordType.Header).ToString("D2", CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), m_InputFilename, m_LoadStartDate, m_LoadEndDate); int recordCount = 0; if (SummarySection) { Log.Info("Writing CSV report summary section ... "); foreach (KeyValuePair<KeyValuePair<LoadStatus, string>, CategoryResult> categoryResult in m_DataLoadResult.DataLoadResults) { streamWriter.WriteLine("\"{0}\",\"{1}\",\"{2}\",\"{3}\"", ((int)CSVRecordType.Summary).ToString("D2", CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), categoryResult.Value.StatusString, categoryResult.Value.Count.ToString(CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), categoryResult.Value.Category); recordCount++; } } Log.Info("Writing CSV report cases section ... "); foreach (KeyValuePair<KeyValuePair<LoadStatus, string>, CategoryResult> categoryResult in m_DataLoadResult.DataLoadResults) { foreach (CaseLoadResult result in categoryResult.Value.CaseLoadResults) { if ((LoadStatus.Success == result.Status && SuccessCases) || (LoadStatus.Warnings == result.Status && WarningCases) || (LoadStatus.Failure == result.Status && FailureCases) || (LoadStatus.NotProcessed == result.Status && NotProcessedCases)) { streamWriter.Write("\"{0}\",\"{1}\",\"{2}\",\"{3}\",\"{4}\"", ((int)CSVRecordType.Result).ToString("D2", CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), result.Status, result.UniqueId, result.Category, result.ClassicReference); if (RawResponse) { streamWriter.Write(",\"{0}\"", result.ResponseXml); } streamWriter.WriteLine(); recordCount++; } } } streamWriter.WriteLine("\"{0}\",\"{1}\"", ((int)CSVRecordType.Count).ToString("D2", CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), recordCount); Log.Info("CSV report written to '{0}'", fileName); } catch (IOException execption) { string errorMessage = string.Format(CultureInfo.CurrentCulture, "Unable to write XML report to '{0}'", fileName); Log.Error(errorMessage); Log.Error(exception.Message); throw new MyException(errorMessage, exception); } finally { if (null != streamWriter) { streamWriter.Close(); } } } The file produced contains a set of records on each line 0 to N, for example: [Record Zero] [Record One] ... [Record N] However the file produced either contains nulls or incomplete records from further up the file appended to the end. For example: [Record Zero] [Record One] ... [Record N] [Lots of nulls] or [Record Zero] [Record One] ... [Record N] [Half complete records] This also happens in separate pieces of code that also use the StreamWriter class. Furthermore, the files produced all have sizes that are multiples of 1024. I've been unable to reproduce this behaviour on any other machine and have tried recreating the environment. Previous versions of the application didn't exhibite this behaviour despite having the same code for the methods in question. EDIT: Added extra code.
