• PDB file from different versions of Visual Studio

  I have an old DLL file which was built with VC++ 6. Now I need to investigate the dump file but I don't have its PDB available. The stacktrace reported by WinDbg is also inaccurate. Is it possible to rebuild the project with later versions of Visual Studio i.e. 2003, 2005, 2008, have the PDB generated, and use this to map addresses to symbols in the old DLL? Is there something like VC 6.0 compatible mode for building project? Obtaining VC++ 6 is one option, but it looks like VS6.0 has already vanished from MSDN subscriber download page :( Thanks!

• How to synch SQLite data to server in iPhone

  Hello Guys, I'm a total noob when it comes to iPhone development and have been tasked to create a database app that can download and upload sqlite data to and from a server via http using web services. So far I already have a form for retrieving and saving data to a SQLite database and now I need some information on how I can upload the SQLite data to a server. The SQLite database will only have one table with 3 columns and about 200 rows max. I hope somebody can point me to the right direction or lead me to some sample codes. Appreciate any help.

• How can I link glibc statically with qt

  I have built a static version of qt and download a static version of glibc. Now I would like to link glibc statically to my qt application. I know about going into the .pro and adding the line LIBS += -L path/to/static_lib but I am wondering if these that is enough? Will it still link glibc statically even though the OS I am building on has the dynamic libraries also? The reason I am doing this is to deploy the application in a standalone manner. (After installing and updating Red Hat 5.3 glibc_2.9 was not found on the target computer)

• SSIS web service task parsing result.

  I have an ssis (2005) package that uses the web service task to download to a file destination. The file contains a string of xml data. After downloaded the file looks like this. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <string>--here is XML data with escaped characters--</string> My thought was I could then use the XML source data flow source to pull the <string> data, but when I set this up the XML source will not read the <string> as a column. It will generate an xsd and it seems normal, but no luck seeing the column. Any ideas on getting this to work? Or would there be a better way to pull the data within the file generated from the web service? Thanks.

  Hi I am trying to integrate Django-Paypal onto a site, where once the customer makes a payment I need to send a dynamic URL from which the user can download some specific information. I am registering all users to a URL which allows them to buy the document. The URL which can only be accessed by a registered user with a verified email ids using django-registration, allows the user to connect to paypal and make payment. How do I capture the signal and verify which user has made the payment for which product he/she is purchased, based on this information 1) I need to know two information, which user made the payment, and for which product did he or she make the payment? 2) Only if I have these information can I send the right UR:L by email. Any help appreciated. I am not very sure how django-signals work. What all details does payment_was_successful signal return? I am using IPN

• Xcode 4.2 how include one project into another one?

  I keep searching, but cannot find a clear and simple explanation on how to include one XCode project, along with all of it's sub-classes into another project. I routinely see stuff like that in sample projects that I download off the web, but do not know how to do this myself. Within XCode, along with .h and .m files, and folders, there's a whole new project, starting with a blue xcode project icon, that is expandable to contain everything within the project. Please, can someone explain to me step by step what do I need to do to add one XCode project into another one? I've seen a ton of one liners like "header search paths", but that does not tell me much. UPDATE: After re-reading the documentation, I realized that the project to include must be dragged ONTO the BLUE project icon of the parent project. Regular sources can be dragged anywhere, but a project must be dragged onto a project. Thank you!

  Hey! I have a computer on a small network, so my ip is 192.168.2.100. I am trying to get my real ip. I download the no-ip client but that just seems like a lot of trouble for such a simple thing. I created this php script that got http://www.ip-adress.com/ page and retrieved the ip it gave me. Is there a simpler way? Either using C, WSH or something. Or if there is an easier way in php please tell me. When I get the ip I'll uploaded it to my ftp site so that I can see the ip from work.

  This is what the Java site www.java.com says: "KVM, the virtual machine for mobile devices, is the counterpart of JVM (Java virtual machine). It is used to run applets and applications written with Java technology on mobile devices. KVM must be installed by the manufacturer. It is NOT available for download or installation by consumers". Now Android has a customized virtual machine called DVM (Dalvik Virtual Machine). Can we compare it with KVM? Wonder if we can further reprogram DVM to incorporate features of KVM to run applets on Android? Same goes for Blacberry, is there a possibility?

  I have Python 3.1.2 and I'm using Windows XP. Where can I see Python's implementation of the Mersenne Twister? In the Python docs it is stated that the Mersenne Twister was written in C and the Python History and License ( http://docs.python.org/py3k/license.html?highlight=mersenne%20twister ) states that "The _random module includes code based on a download from http://www.math.keio.ac.jp/matumoto/MT2002/emt19937ar.html." random.py imports _random which apparently has the Mersenne Twister implementation in it. I can't seem to locate _random. Any thoughts?

• Better way to set unix permissions when deploying war file

  We have a vendor application where we download their updates and deploy a war file. We are deploying the war file on a unix application server running oracle application server 9i. I believe when we deploy the war file, we remove the previous install and then deploy the new war file. When we deploy the war file, sometimes we have to manually set the unix file permissions for the class and other files. We do this so all the unix user ids can run the processes they need. Is there a better way to do this?

I'm using Visual studio 2008 with C# and SharpSVN dll (for Subversion 1.6) I wish to commit to multiple different folders in my repository, but without having to checkout the entire repository. I tried using the method: SVNClient.Commit (ICollection coll, CommitArgs ca); Where eg coll [0] = "c:\svnCheckoutDir\dirLic001\sect\file_ext.ini" and coll [1] = "c:\svnCheckoutDir\dirLic121\sect\file_ext.ini" but I get the error message: "c:\svnCheckoutDir" is not a working copy. when I download the entire repository, I have no problems. but when I do a checkout of the folders you just want to modify the process does not work.   I have a ClickOnce app that used to be run by users with Power User privileges. So to integrate to outlook (e.g. syncing of emails, appointments and addresses) I used a 3rd party component from Add-In Express, which includes an ActiveX DLL. So when the user would download my app, I'd register the ActiveX DLL (if it wasn't already registered) and then would just interop with it in the application. Well, now the users had their privileges changed to standard limited User. Which means that they can't register DLLs (since it writes to the registry keys that are off limit). And the integration with Outlook fails, of course. What are some of options to integrate with Outlook for my situation?

  I'm having trouble getting pictures supported with PIL - it throws me this: "IOError: decoder jpeg not available" I installed PIL from binary, not realizing I needed libjpeg. I installed libjpeg and freetype2 through fink. I tried to reinstall PIL using instructions from http://timhatch.com/ (bottom of the page) "* Download PIL 1.1.6 source package and have the Developer Tools already installed * Patch setup.py with this patch so it can find the Freetype you already have. (patch -p0 < leopard_freetype2.diff) * sudo apt-get install libjpeg if you have fink (otherwise, build by hand and adjust paths)" But I'm still getting the same error. I'm on Leopard PPC.

  If you're familiar with the excellent Aptana Studio IDE, you know it's based on Eclipse. You also know it comes pre-packaged with SFTP capability. I need to work on a remote server, where I have Apache installed; SFTP is ideal for this. I've installed the Subclipse plugin, and I can access and checkout projects from the Repo. I can create a new project from SVN source, which will download all the source to my chosen workspace or a specified location. But I can't figure out a way to combine these features! I need to create a Project on a remote server via SFTP but I need to link the source to a repository. Is there any way to do this?

  Hi there, I extended a ModelAdmin with a custom field "Download file", which is a link to a URL in my Django project, like: http://www.myproject.com/downloads/1 There, I want to serve a file which is stored in a S3-bucket. The files in the bucket are not public readable, and the user may not have direct access to it. Now I want to avoid that the file has to be loaded in the server memory (these are multi-gb-files) avoid to have temp files on the server The ideal solution would be to let django act as a proxy that streams S3-chunks directly to the user.   I am creating a component that uses a collection and collection items of panels. I can't seem to get the colors to work at runtime, but yet they seem to work just fine at design time.   I am using Assembly.LoadFrom within a web service to load assemblies from a web site. but the problem is it is in the virutal directory and the server.mappath parses the url like \share\mydll.dll and loadform method failed. Is there anyway to reference dll from the remote location? I've tried passing the url (http:\localhost\downloadable\mydll.dll) and again it got "Could not load file or assembly 'http:\localhost\downloadable\mydll.dll' or one of its dependencies. HTTP download of assemblies has been disabled for this appdomain. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131048)"

• How to prevent application thievery (specific to Android applications)?

  Hey, I was wondering what the most effective way of preventing people from stealing my application (downloading a copy of the .apk online rather than buying it). I've spent a lot of time on one in particular (Droidbox) and won't be releasing Sync until I can guarantee that the people who are providing illegal copies of the pro version aren't able to. Anyone implemented this? I've tried checking my package signature verses an the signature of an unsigned copy but it appears to be the same - perhaps I'm doing something incorrectly here. I'm unsure whether people actually distribute the signed .apk in which case I don't think signature validation would work to begin with... Please note, this question is specific to Android Marketplace Applications - the difference being, application delivery is out of my hands and I have no way of linking between a legitimate purchase and an illegal download.

  Hi, I've successfully used jquery autocomplete to display a list of matching images based on user input. The user experience isn't great though due to the number of potential matches - even with fairly prescriptive input. I've found this example at nokia http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/device-software-update (I know it's written in flash) which would provide the ideal interface for what I'm trying to achieve. Does anyone have any pointers for doing this using jquery autocomplete as a starting point? Or better still know of an existing javascript library that provides this functionality? • iPhone In-App Purchase Store Kit error -1003 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"

  Hi all- I've been working on adding in-app purchases and was able to create and test in-app purchases using Store Kit (yay!). During testing, I exercised my app in a way which caused the app to crash mid purchase (so I guess the normal cycle of receiving paymentQueue:updatedTransactions and calling finishTransaction was interrupted). Now I am unable to successfully complete any transactions and instead am getting only transactions with transactionState SKPaymentTransactionStateFailed when paymentQueue:updatedTransactions is called. The transaction.error.code is -1003 and the transaction.error.localizedDescription is "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"! I have tried removing all products from iTunesConnect, and rebuilt them using different identifiers but that did not help. I have also tried using the App Store app to really connect to the real App Store and download some apps so I do have connectivity. Finally, I have visited the Settings:Store app to make sure I am signed out of my normal app store account. Any ideas? -Rei
