    Hey, I want to know if there's a few folks out there with experience in using admob for iphone apps. I've just started using it and have a problem. When I close an in app ad the actual ad itself has moved up 40 pixels and is mostly hidden behind the navigation bar. In addition all of my own content is shifted up 40 pixels. The addmob documentation is very limited so not much help there sadly.

  • How to make OSX application that just runs opens some file type and runs arbitrary Ruby code?

    It's trivial to make a program executable from shell - just put #!/usr/bin/ruby on top, chmod +x it and done. Unfortunately OSX won't let me associate file type with such scripts - it requires its .apps instead. This sort of distinction doesn't seem to exist on other operating systems. What's the simplest way of making such .app, which would merely execute some arbitrary Ruby code?

    Hi - how do I push server alerts to tray apps in java without using xmpp or other heavy protocols? Do you recommend a way to accomplish this? I was planning to write an app which uses URLConnection on a server equipped with Comet but I doubt if that would work as the client requires a JS to be invoked and URLConnection is not a browser.. What is the best way to push instead of using a proprietary client-server approach?

    I have a XSLT sample copied straight from http://www.w3schools.com/xsl/xsl_transformation.asp, which I can't seem to view in Google Chrome. However, it seems to work fine in IE. Does anyone know why this would be? EDIT: The online version works fine, but the local copy does not.

Each application runs fine and I can link between apps using absolute URLs. Is there some way I can use or extend the URL helper class (functions like anchor(), redirect()... etc.) to generate links to controllers across applications.     I'm troubleshooting a java app where XML is sent between two systems using HTTP POST and a servlet. I suspect that the problem is that the XML is growing way to big.     Long and short of the story is, whilst reading John Resig's blog (specifically http://ejohn.org/blog/javascript-trie-performance-analysis/) I came across a line which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Essentially it boils down to object = object[key] = something; (this can be found in the first code block of the article I've linked.) This has proven rather difficult to google, so if anyone can offer some insight / a good online resource for me to learn for myself, I'd much appreciate it.

    This is a general question about writing web apps. I have an application that counts page views of articles as well as a url shortner script that I've installed for a client of mine. The problem is that, whenever bots hit the site, they tend to inflate the page views. Does anyone have an idea on how to go about eliminating bot views from the view count of these applications?
