  • Shall web services call on iphone using GPRS connectivity?

    Hi, I am beginner in iphone development. I develop an application in which i call some web services in my application. When that application i ran on iphone device using Wi-Fi connectivity then it work fine and well condition also in good performance, but when that application ran on GPRS connection then the web service call well and after that application collapsed.What will be the exact problem dose with my application? Could any different setting between Wi-Fi and GPRS?

    Is there any function in Objective-C to print a list of elements as unordered HTML elements. For ex - [@"a--b-c---d" htmlList: @"--"] returns @ "ab-c-d" the "--" is the delimiter to seperate the string of elements. I have used NSSArray to store the input string and function componentsSeperatedByString:@"--" to get the elements. I'm using Xcode 4 with the storybord function. Theway the app is built: user selects author - then the book - then app shows the text.     Forgive the beginner question, but say I have an array: a = [1,2,3] And a function somewhere; let's say it's an instance function: class Ilike def turtles(*args) puts args.inspect end end How do I invoke Ilike.turtles with a as if I were calling (Ilike.new).turtles(1,2,3). I'm familiar with send, but this doesn't seem to translate an array into an argument list. A parallel of what I'm looking for is the Javascript apply, which is equivalent to call but converts the array into an argument list.

    Just had a curious thought, but for general coding and programming, do you think it's best to work out all the logic yourself and start from a blank sheet or just take a code that has been written already(by you or someone else) and just change it to your liking? Assuming you have a programming background of like 1year+. (because as a beginner, it's best to learn from nothing) I'm not saying copy+paste someone else's code and say it's yours.

    I know how to use comma in printf as grouping separator to print value in format like 1,000,000.00 to print it that way I'm using command System.out.printf ("%,.2f", value); but how to use space as grouping separator to format value like 1 000 000.00 I tried to find solution but solutions with using DecimalFormat look at now to complicate for me (beginner level).
