• Emails not arriving to client's inbox. Server not on black list.

  Hi, I'm sending emails to my clients who are hosted on GoDaddy for both their website and email. For some reason, my system's emails are no longer reaching their inbox. My email server sends them alerts when an action is completed. These alerts are posted in my system and my email server is sending these out, but there are no bounceback emails. There have been no issues in the past year, but in the past two weeks the problem started cropping up. My clients were forced to switched to a web-based email provider like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo to receive their alerts. This is a temporary solution that works in the interim. I contacted GoDaddy and they are indicating that I am not being blocked. I also have a GoDaddy account and can confirm that my alerts aren't arriving in the inbox regardless of whatever safe sender items I employ in the webmail interface. I even switched all the system's outbound emails to Plain Text, no luck. Can anyone provide some insight and point me in the right direction? Thank you in advance.

• Accessing or Resetting Permissions of a Mounted Registry Hive of a Different User / From a Different System

  I’m currently stuck using my backup system until I can replace my dead motherboard. In the meantime, I have put my hard-drive in this system so that I can access my files and keep working on the backup system. Fortunately, I don’t have a permission issues with the files (the partitions are FAT32). The issue I’m having is with the registry. I need to import some of my settings from the hives of my (old? normal?) installation of Windows into the one I’m currently using. Settings from the system hives (SYSTEM, SOFTWARE, etc.) are fine, but the user hive is giving me trouble. I’ve copied the NTUSER.DAT file from my other drive and mounted it with the reg command. Most of the keys (eg Software) are fine and I can access them without problem, but some of them (particularly the Identities key where Outlook Express settings are stored) complains that it cannot be opened. If I open the permissions dialog, I get an error about being unable to view the current permssions. If I then ignore it and try to take ownership of the key and it’s subkeys, I get an access-denied error. If I then add permissions for my user account on this system, I get an error, however I am then able to see the subkeys and values of the key. If I then try to access the subkeys, I get the same original errors. If I repeat the process for each subkey, I can see their values and subkeys, and so on, but of course this gets to be incredibly annoying and time-consuming (especially since the Identities key has a lot of subkeys). Is there an easier/temporary/more correct way to dump a key so that I can import it into my backup system?

• Cannot install SQL Server CE 4

  I'm trying to install SQL Server CE 4 on a WinXP Pro SP3 machine. I double-click on the file and absolutely nothing happens. There is nothing in the event viewer and the only effect I can see is the addition of an empty, randomly named folder in C:\ which looks something like C:\7c59aaeb5e43f6bdcb2430e923 I've tried this with both SQL Server CE 4 and the SP1 version. I've tried disabling the AV (Nod32) file protection but it didn't make a difference. I've checked the installed program list in case it's already installed, but I don't see it anywhere. I checked in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\ and there's only the \3.5 folder in there from the already installed 3.5 version. Does anyone know what's going on or how I can further diagnose the problem? Edit in response to Ramhound: I have .NET 4 installed. Why, does it need a particular version? Edit in response to leinad13 I tried Process Explorer and filtered by the name of the temporary folder created. I see the following, but can't make much sense of it.

I am looking for a way to search… …through my entire browsing history, …with sophisticated filters (limit search terms to certain fields such as URL, domain, title, body text; wildcard or regex terms, date ranges). … in … …either some ready-made software. eHistory came close, as it can limit terms to fields, but it lacks wildcards/regexes, and has the same limited time horizon as the default search. • Win7 loses connection to network shares after resume unless server specified using FQDN

  My Win7 client has a connection to a Linux server and its shared folders. The problem occurs when the computer wakes up after a sleep and then one of the shared folders is not accessible. I receive the following message: Error code: 80070035, The network path was not found. I have problem with one specific folder only. When I restart the computer this problematic folder is accessible again. When I log off before sleep the folder is accessible after wakeup. If I try to access the folder by using the FQDN of the server or the server IP it is also accessible. As a temporary solution I mapped the folder to a network drive using the FQDN and it's working fine but it's inconvenient since every other folder is accessible on the server. To summarize: \server\problematicshare no longer works after resume (the Samba server sees my client connect, then disconnects a few seconds later while I receive the above error message) \server\othershare works after resume \fqdn.of.server\problematicshare always works \ip.of.server\problematicshare always works once the problem manifests, I'm no longer able to restart the "Workstation" service (it is not responding) restarting the "Computer Browser" service has no apparent effect the event log doesn't contain anything that seems relevant "ping server" works

• Get more space for redis in unix server

  In our app we have only windows servers beside the cases we use redis queues. This case , we use unix server created by amazon. As you can see we do not have a lot of space available and we want to make sure redis has enough space to work without getting stuck. I am little bit new in unix and after reading some data about the unix file system i still was not fully sure how can i give the redis drive (it is in the home directory) more space. I see the mnt that has a lot of space but read it is temporary for cd-rom and network drives. Can you help me figure out how to get more space to my redis ? If it is possible i prefer not to re-install the redis server. • Disk (EXT4) suddenly empty without any sign of why

  I have a Ubuntu 10.04 server with several disks in it. The disks are setup with a union filesystem, which presents them all as one logical /home. A few days ago, one of the disks appears to have suddenly 'become empty', for lack of better explanation. The amount of data on the /home mount almost halved within minutes - the disk appears to have had just over 400 GB of data prior to 'becoming empty'. I have absolutely no idea what happened. I was not using the server at the other time, but there are half a dozen other users who may have been (without root access and without the ability to hose a whole disk). I've ran SMART tests on the disk and it comes back clean. The filesystem checks fine (it has 12 GB used now, as some user software continued downloading after the incident). All I know is that around around midnight on October 19, the disk usage changed dramatically: The data points are every 15 minutes, and the full loss occured between captures: 2012-10-18 23:58:03.399647 - has 953.97/2059.07 GB [46.33 percent] 2012-10-19 00:13:15.909010 - has 515.18/2059.07 GB [25.02 percent] Other than that, I have not much to go off :-( I know that: There's nothing interesting in log files at that time Nobody appeared to be logged in via SSH at the time it occured (most users do not even use SSH) The server was online through whatever occured (3 months uptime) None of the other disks were affected and everything else on the server looks completely normal I have tried using "extundelete" on the disk and it didn't really find anything (some temporary files, but they looked new anyway) I am completely at a loss to what could have caused this. I was initially thinking maybe root escalation exploit, but even if someone did maliciously "rm" the disk contents, it would take more than 15 minutes for 400 GB?

• Notepad++ FTP best solution

  Hi, I use Notepad++ for more than 2 years now, and there's only 1 thing that it needs for me to be perfect: a actually-working-ftp-plugin. It has an ftp plugin, written by someone that meanwhile left the project (by meanwhile I mean a long time ago), and since then nobody had courage to improve it. The problem is that it does't handle connections very well. Sometimes it lost connection with the server and literally "blocks", others don't save the files properly, other only load half of the ftp files, etc etc .. My question is: Is there a way to use ftp and notepad++ (without using its build-in ftp or a ftp client like filezilla)? I've tried using NetDrive, but it gets stuck sometimes (makes the editor crash), and everytime the temporary file is refreshed by windows / NetDrive, it will load the new file without asking and skip the pointer to the end of the file (very very very annoying). In case you know how to make the built-in notepad++ ftp plugin work at 100%, I'd be much more happy! I'd like to have some feedback from you guys :) (I'm using Windows Vista) Thanks in advance!

• Profile not loaded correctly (Cannot access registry)

  Every so often, I log on and get the Following Message: User profile was not loaded correctly. You have been logged on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off. Please see the event log for details or contact your administrator This almost always happens when somebody else has been on the computer for a while, and then I log on. This never used to happen, but now it happens pretty often. My profile is not permanently corrupted, all I have to do is restart my computer, but this annoys me, and I would like to fix it. I was curios about the reason of this cause, so I looked into the Event Log, and found the root of the problem was the ntuser.dat file in the profile that I was logging on to was locked at logon time. This resulted in the current users registry not being loaded, resulting in failure to load the profile. I just found a microsoft article that mentions this exact issue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/960464/ The problem is that I do not want to delete this profile; and this issue does not come up every time that I log on, only when somebody else has been on a long time before me. What could be locking this file? Is there any way to get a process list without logging on so that I can identify which process has the file locked? Any other suggestions?

• How do I fix a permissions problem with MS Distributed File System?

  I have a computer that is new, Windows 7, that is supposed to have access to particular network resources on a Distributed File System. However, despite all permissions being set correctly, I have consistent trouble accessing them. For instance, I'm supposed to be able to reach \company.org\main\subdir. All the permissions have been granted, only when I try to access it by name, it tells me I don't have permission to access \main. This is where the fun starts. If I ping company.org, get the IP, replace company.org by the IP, I can then access \IP\main\subdir without any problems at all. However we have a ton of scripts and build tools that access the network resource by name. My sysadmin has found that using MS's dfsutil.exe, we can fix it temporary using this sequence of commands: C:\dfsutil.exe /pktinfo C:\dfsutil.exe /PktFlush C:\dfsutil.exe /SpcFlush C:\dfsutil.exe /PurgeMupCache C:\dfsutil.exe /pktinfo After that, everything is great... until I reboot, or until some unspecified time later where suddenly I don't have access to \main\ anymore. Hoping to find a more permanent solution than waiting for it to break and running a batch file.

• Can I remove the original file while running "sort"?

  I'm sorting a huge file, around 400 gigabytes. I'm running out of the disk space and I must do something quickly. Let's assume the original file is called original_file. So I execute (simplified) it as "sort original_file | gzip -c output_file" I use /home/tmp as a temporary dir. From what I see, there are a lot of intermediate files, like so: tmpA465 tmpB154 ... and so on. The smallest ones have size 12 megabytes. The largest have ~182 megabytes. So, it seems that the "sort" command have already split the original file into small pieces, and have sorted them, and now it is merging them into bigger parts (which will be, eventually, sorted as well). Please correct me if I'm wrong. Can I remove the original file right now without terminating the sort process? I've been waiting for a few days for that and it's important that the "sort" command will not fail and I will get the result file, finally. The OS is Ubuntu server 13.04, x64. Thanks!

• CS1685 Warning causes a CS0433 error when targeting 3.5 in VS2010

  I have a 2010 project that is targeting .NET v3.5. It was working fine until I started to mess with configurations a bit and now I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. The project doesn't have ANY references added. It won't even let me add a reference to System.Core as it is added by the 'build system'. warning CS1685: The predefined type 'System.Func' is defined in multiple assemblies in the global alias; using definition from 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\mscorlib.dll' IFilter.cs(82,49): error CS0433: The type 'System.Func' exists in both 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\v3.5\System.Core.dll' and 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\mscorlib.dll' Looks like something is grabbing onto 4.0 but I'm not quite sure how to fix it.   I am currently gathering some technology requirements for a site that will be a social network based. I don't want to re-invent the wheel so i am looking for some type of SDK or collection of tools that can provide me with a way of creating/managing a social network. I understand that no framework will probably fit my exact needs so I am also looking for a flexible/extendable framework. An example extension point would be allowing the user to provide sub networks, maybe a global network that could be sub classified as work and friends. Beyond that it would also be nice to somehow be able to import contacts from other networking sites (Facebook, Linked In, etc). My current technology suite will more than likely consist of the following: IIS 7.0 WCF Data Services SQL Server 2006 ASP.NET front end.   FirstData has horrendous customer support, but I have to integrate with their Global Gateway web service for a project I'm working on. I'm simply trying to run the Axis2 wsdl2java tool according to the instructions in their manual. This basically consists of adding the keyStore and keyStorePassword JVM parameter. Now, I am trying to figure out how to display the data within the Sqlite Db from the Tcl frontend. After a little bit of research, I found that the treeview widget would work well for my needs. I now have the following code: set z1 [ttk::treeview .c1.t1 -columns {1 2} -show headings] $z1 heading #1 -text "First Name" $z1 heading #2 -text "Last Name" proc Srch {} {global z1 sqlite3 db test.db pack $z1 db close } When the "Srch" procedure is executed (button event), the treeview (z1) appears with the headings First Name and Last Name. Additionally, the Sqlite Db gets connected, then closes. I wanted to add code that would populate the treeview from the Sqlite Db between connecting to the Db and packing the treeview (z1). Does anyone know the correct syntax to populate a Tcl treeview with data from Sqlite? Thank you everyone in advance, DFM

• Asp.Net 3.5 Routing to Asmx Webservice?

  I was looking for a way to route http://www.example.com/WebService.asmx to http://www.example.com/service/ using only the ASP.NET 3.5 Routing framework without needing to configure the IIS server. Until now I have done what most tutorials told me, added a reference to the routing assembly, configured stuff in the web.config, added this to the Global.asax: protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { RouteCollection routes = RouteTable.Routes; routes.Add( "WebService", new Route("service/{*Action}", new WebServiceRouteHandler()) ); } ...created this class: public class WebServiceRouteHandler : IRouteHandler { public IHttpHandler GetHttpHandler(RequestContext requestContext) { // What now? } } ...and the problem is right there, I don't know what to do. The tutorials and guides I've read use routing for pages, not webservices. Is this even possible? Ps: The route handler is working, I can visit /service/ and it throws the NotImplementedException I left in the GetHttpHandler method.

  How do you modify a ASP.NET MVC 2.0 project to work with the Spark View Engine? I tried like described here: http://dotnetslackers.com/articles/aspnet/installing-the-spark-view-engine-into-asp-net-mvc-2-preview-2.aspx But somehow it still tries to route to .aspx files. • Rails Resque workers fail with PGError: server closed the connection unexpectedly

  I have site running rails application and resque workers running in production mode, on Ubuntu 9.10, Rails 2.3.4, ruby-ee 2010.01, PostgreSQL 8.4.2 Workers constantly raised errors: PGError: server closed the connection unexpectedly. My best guess is that master resque process establishes connection to db (e.g. authlogic does that when use User.acts_as_authentic), while loading rails app classes, and that connection becomes corrupted in fork()ed process (on exit?), so next forked children get kind of broken global ActiveRecord::Base.connection I could reproduce very similar behaviour with this sample code imitating fork/processing in resque worker. (AFAIK, users of libpq recommended to recreate connections in forked process anyway, otherwise it's not safe ) But, the odd thing is that when I use pgbouncer or pgpool-II instead of direct pgsql connection, such errors do not appear. So, the question is where and how should I dig to find out why it is broken for plain connection and is working with connection pools? Or reasonable workaround?

  I am developing a website(web forms , not MVC) in VS 2008(with SP1 ).I am trying to incorporate the ASP.NET Routing.I am following the MSDN tutorial to do it. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc668201.aspx I have added the below items to my glbal.asax.cs file as per the tutorial protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); } public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.Add(new Route ( "Category/{action}/{categoryName}" , new CategoryRouteHandler() )); } When trying to build it is telling like "The type or namespace name 'RouteCollection' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) I have System.web imported to my global.asax file Any Idea how to get rid of it ?

• CUDA linking error - Visual Express 2008 - nvcc fatal due to (null) configuration file

  Hi, I've been searching extensively for a possible solution to my error for the past 2 weeks. I have successfully installed the Cuda 64-bit compiler (tools) and SDK as well as the 64-bit version of Visual Studio Express 2008 and Windows 7 SDK with Framework 3.5. I'm using windows XP 64-bit. I have confirmed that VSE is able to compile in 64-bit as I have all of the 64-bit options available to me using the steps on the following website: (since Visual Express does not inherently include the 64-bit packages) http://jenshuebel.wordpress.com/2009/02/12/visual-c-2008-express-edition-and-64-bit-targets/ I have confirmed the 64-bit compile ability since the "x64" is available from the pull-down menu under "Tools-Options-VC++ Directories" and compiling in 64-bit does not result in the entire project being "skipped". I have included all the needed directories for 64-bit cuda tools, 64 SDK and Visual Express (\VC\bin\amd64). • ASP.NET MVC - Find Absolute Path to the App_Data folder from Controller

  What is the correct way to find the absolute path to the App_Data folder from a Controller in an ASP.NET MVC project? I'd like to be able to temporarily work with an .xml file and I don't want to hardcode the path. This does not work: [HandleError] public class HomeController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { string path = VirtualPathUtility.ToAbsolute("~/App_Data/somedata.xml"); //.... do whatever return View(); } } I think outside of the web context VirtualPathUtility.ToAbsolute() doesn't work. string path comes back as "C:\App_Data\somedata.xml" Where should I determine the path of the .xml file in an MVC app? global.asax and stick it an application-level variable?
