  • Nginx + Nagios : 502 Bad gateway

    - by MrROY
    I have a fully new install nagios, but I can't access to it. Here's my Nginx config: server{ listen 80; server_name 61.148.45.10; # blahblah # Nagios Monitoring location /nagios3/ { proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:80; } } Nagios is installed step by step(From this Linode guide): sudo apt-get install -y nagios3 Then I try to visit http://ip-address/nagios3/, but it shows 502 bad gateway. How do I deal with this ? This is my /var/log/syslog: Oct 25 14:18:17 my-server nagios3: SERVICE ALERT: localhost;Disk Space;WARNING;SOFT;1;DISK WARNING - free space: /boot 43 MB (20% inode=99%): Oct 25 14:19:07 my-server nagios3: SERVICE ALERT: localhost;HTTP;WARNING;SOFT;1;HTTP WARNING: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden - 319 bytes in 0.000 second response time Oct 25 14:19:17 my-server nagios3: SERVICE ALERT: localhost;Disk Space;WARNING;SOFT;2;DISK WARNING - free space: /boot 43 MB (20% inode=99%): Oct 25 14:20:07 my-server nagios3: SERVICE ALERT: localhost;HTTP;WARNING;SOFT;2;HTTP WARNING: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden - 319 bytes in 0.000 second response time Oct 25 14:20:17 my-server nagios3: SERVICE ALERT: localhost;Disk Space;WARNING;SOFT;3;DISK WARNING - free space: /boot 43 MB (20% inode=99%): Oct 25 14:21:07 my-server nagios3: SERVICE ALERT: localhost;HTTP;WARNING;SOFT;3;HTTP WARNING: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden - 319 bytes in 0.000 second response time Oct 25 14:21:17 my-server nagios3: SERVICE ALERT: localhost;Disk Space;WARNING;HARD;4;DISK WARNING - free space: /boot 43 MB (20% inode=99%): Oct 25 14:21:17 my-server nagios3: SERVICE NOTIFICATION: root;localhost;Disk Space;WARNING;notify-service-by-email;DISK WARNING - free space: /boot 43 MB (20% inode=99%): Oct 25 14:21:17 my-server postfix/pickup[24474]: 4F89F394034C: uid=109 from=<nagios> Oct 25 14:21:17 my-server postfix/cleanup[27756]: 4F89F394034C: message-id=<20131025062117.4F89F394034C@my-server> Oct 25 14:21:17 my-server postfix/qmgr[24475]: 4F89F394034C: from=<nagios@[email protected]>, size=594, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Oct 25 14:21:17 my-server postfix/local[27758]: 4F89F394034C: to=<root@localhost>, relay=local, delay=0.15, delays=0.11/0/0/0.04, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to mailbox) Oct 25 14:21:17 my-server postfix/qmgr[24475]: 4F89F394034C: removed Oct 25 14:22:07 my-server nagios3: SERVICE ALERT: localhost;HTTP;WARNING;HARD;4;HTTP WARNING: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden - 319 bytes in 0.000 second response time Oct 25 14:22:07 my-server nagios3: SERVICE NOTIFICATION: root;localhost;HTTP;WARNING;notify-service-by-email;HTTP WARNING: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden - 319 bytes in 0.000 second response time Oct 25 14:22:07 my-server postfix/pickup[24474]: 219CA3940381: uid=109 from=<nagios> Oct 25 14:22:07 my-server postfix/cleanup[27756]: 219CA3940381: message-id=<20131025062207.219CA3940381@my-server> Oct 25 14:22:07 my-server postfix/qmgr[24475]: 219CA3940381: from=<nagios@[email protected]>, size=605, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Oct 25 14:22:07 my-server postfix/local[27758]: 219CA3940381: to=<root@localhost>, relay=local, delay=0.12, delays=0.07/0/0/0.05, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to mailbox) Oct 25 14:22:07 my-server postfix/qmgr[24475]: 219CA3940381: removed Oct 25 14:39:01 my-server CRON[28242]: (root) CMD ( [ -x /usr/lib/php5/maxlifetime ] && [ -d /var/lib/php5 ] && find /var/lib/php5/ -depth -mindepth 1 -maxdepth 1 -type f -cmin +$(/usr/lib/php5/maxlifetime) ! -execdir fuser -s {} 2>/dev/null \; -delete) And there're lot of 127.0.0.1 visit in nginx log, but I actually visit from a external ip: 127.0.0.1 - - [25/Oct/2013:14:21:02 +0800] "GET /nagios3/ HTTP/1.0" 502 575 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/3 0.0.1599.69 Safari/537.36" 127.0.0.1 - - [25/Oct/2013:14:21:02 +0800] "GET /nagios3/ HTTP/1.0" 502 575 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/3 0.0.1599.69 Safari/537.36" 127.0.0.1 - - [25/Oct/2013:14:21:02 +0800] "GET /nagios3/ HTTP/1.0" 502 575 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/3 0.0.1599.69 Safari/537.36"

  • Linux : Forward users mail using exim4 server (newbiw warning)

    - by llazzaro
    Hello, I have a network of linux server, one of them is running exim4 that server could send [email protected]. At exim4 server, I had setup an alias for the users accounts ...for example root : [email protected] But I have other server, if I put the alias email is marked as spam...since they arent using exim4 server. I want to configure the other server to use that exim4 server, in order to dont get the mails mark as spam. Well I know this is really newbie question, but searching at google is difficult since it confuses exim4 server configuration than the client configuration to use exim4 server. Remember, I want root@server1,root@server2,etc mails send via exim4 server!

  • nikto probe warning messages

    - by julio
    Hi-- I have a pretty standard VPS running Ubuntu 8.1, Apache 2.2, PHP 5 etc. -- standard Lamp stack. I am using suhosin and have tried my best to plug the obvious stuff, since I'm the only user-- there's no SSH access except via pubkey on a non-standard port, there's no root access by SSH, no FTP server running, iptables is set to discard anything outside of basically port 80 or my SSH port (there's no mail server or anything else). However, I've still been compromised (not badly as far as I can tell) probably by a SQL injection. I've locked down the SQL user (there's only one outside of root, and he's got limited priv, no file etc.) So I ran nikto to see what I'm doing wrong, and there's a list of things I've never seen, and can't find using "find" or any other method I'm aware of. • Skip all warning prompts on ACPI shutdown?

    - by N Rahl
    When I issue an ACPI shutdown command to a Windows XP guest machine from the host VM server, I want Windows to shutdown. The problem is, Windows always wants to ask some question or another, rather than just shutting down. I need shutdown to be reliable, no matter what is running or going on, so I can automate shutdowns from the host machine. But I want it to be as graceful as possible, rather than just pulling the plug. Some problems: If a user is logged in, ACPI shutdown causes a box to appear that says, "are you sure you want to shutdown while other users are logged in"? And this prevents shutdown until someone connects to the machine and clicks "yes". In this case, it should try its best to gracefully log out all users, using force if necessary, and then shutdown without promoting. Busy or non-responding programs or programs asking to save data can prevent Windows from shutting down until a user answers a prompt. This should attempt to save data, wait maybe 30 seconds for non-responding programs, but should get aggressive with stubborn programs. "nope, time's up! 3,2,1, Goodbye!" Is there a registry setting that I can change from: ACPI_Shutdown: "Shut down if Windows feels like it" to ACPI_Shutdown: "Just do it. Kill programs, bump users, try to be graceful about it, but when I come back, I expect you to be off." This should respond to the ACPI shutdown command, and not be a script on windows, unless that script is triggered by the ACPI power button. I'm hoping this can be changed with registry options.

  • What is this warning message all about?

    - by brilliant
    Why is it so that every time when i start "FireFox", this message pops up: advisordb.wmtransfer.com: 443 uses an invalid security cetificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted. (Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer) I guess it has to do with "WebMoney" that I had installed on my computer. But I have already uninstalled it, yet this message still pops up.

  • MSE updating fails, no warning or error message.

    - by WebDevHobo
    I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit. For the last couple of days, MSE doesn't fails to update, remaining stuck at version 1.75.119 I presume that an error log is created somewhere, or an event log, but I don't know where to find those. It just says "connection failed". Tried it at home, at work and friends places, but never works. Restarted computer a lot of times now, checked for Microsoft Updates in general, but nothing shows up. EDIT: I've opened a bounty for this, because I really don't know what to do anymore. The oldest answer(the long post) here did not work. Besides this problem, I'm having trouble using MSI installers too. I've had to add the SYSTEM group to a lot of maps and give them full control, but shouldn't the SYSTEM already be there? Also, I had to remove the "read-only" attribute from the ProgramData and Users folders, add the SYSTEM group there too and give them full control. Only then will the MSI install work and even then, it says I doesn't have the rights to create a shortcut on the desktop. Don't know what I need to modify and where for that. I'm saying this because I don't know how MSE updates, but if they use MSI files to do that, that might explain things. The SYSTEM group remains added, but every time I take away the read only attribute, click OK and check the settings again, read-only is still active... That's all I know. Screenshot, all those updates were manual:

  • Suppressing / Accepting warning windows automatically in commands executed through batch file

    - by David Somach
    I am automating the uninstall of IE9 through executing the command in these instructions inside a batch file: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie9-windows_7/how-to-uninstall-ie9-beta-64-bit-it-is-not-in-the/863d8f3d-c4ab-43e6-9d57-e163ea3baddd The instructions say to run the command twice. The first time the command runs, I get the following error window (3 times): "Windows Package Manager Operation failed with 0x80070005 Access id denied." I click OK for each of these windows, and the rest of the script runs fine and IE8 is usable after restart. Is there a way to suppress these windows? I want this to be fully automated and these windows block the script until the user presses "OK".

  • VS 2010 Security Warning When Opening My Own Projects

    - by Zian Choy
    Whenever I try to open my own projects in VS 2010 Express, I get the following message: You should only open projects from a trustworthy source I can click OK on the message and open the solution, but I would prefer to not get warned every time I open my solution. The files were not downloaded from the Internet; they are sitting right on my department's network drive. There's nothing to unblock if I look at the Properties window for the project file. Any tips for squashing this bug will be appreciated.

  • Google Chrome "warn to quit" not warning on Cmd + Tab quit

    - by Theron Luhn
    As a Mac poweruser, I often use Cmd + Tab to switch between applications. Tab is unfortunately close to Q, so I often end up jamming Cmd + Q as well by accident. On most applications, this isn't a problem; a popup appears confirming if I want to quit, and I just click "cancel." However, this isn't the case with Google Chrome. I checked "warn before quitting", and when I press Cmd + Q a box saying "Hold Cmd + Q to quit" pops up. But when jamming Cmd + Q while switching to Chrome using Cmd + Tab, it completely ignores the "warn before quitting" policy and quits immediately. Any way to fix this annoyance? Switching either of the shortcuts to something else would fix the problem, but I'm not able to find a way to do so.

  • CentOS - Disk Quota X% warning

    - by jfreak53
    I currently have disk quotas working perfectly for Hard Limit Quotas on a CentOS 5 box. Quotas are working fine, but I am looking for a way to alert users either in a Cron or Automatically as Quotas is already running, when they are within X% of their Hard Limit Quota? I would like this email to go out to an email address I configure somehow for each user. I've looked all over the place but can't find it. All I can find is warnquota which only works when a user goes over Quota. The problem is I use Hard Limits, so my users will never go over quota. It needs to warn them when they are within X% of their limits.

  • chdir warning when opening .tar file on OS X

    - by denonth
    I need to unarchive a file to the /Developer folder. Install Qt for iOS SDK The Qt for iOS SDK has been configured to be installed in the default Xcode installation location /Developer. It is not possible to install the SDK into another location without first rebuilding it, as the install location is contained within the qmake executable, and that is built as part of Qt. To install the Qt for iOS SDK, open ‘Terminal’ and type the following from the command-line: tar –xf qt-everywhere-ios-4.8.0-xxx.tar.gz –C /Developer (where xxx is an identifier which can be used to determine the build of the iOS SDK eg. arm7--nossl) This will install the Qt for iOS SDK into the following path: /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/share/qt-everywhere-ios-4.8.0 When I perform the operation I get the information: Lions-Mac:Documents User$ tar -xf qt-everywhere-ios-4.8.0-arm7-nossl.tar.gz -C /Developer tar: could not chdir to '/Developer' Any idea what is wrong?

  • HP tx2510us shuts down without warning, now won't boot, no BIOS codes, screen doesn't light

    - by Tim S
    Hey all, HP tx2150us worked great for a year and a half, rarely it would shut down instead of sleeping. It started running hot sometimes, I installed Win7, worked great, still running hot. Before Xmas, it gave me evidence of video errors - jagged lines, rows missing. That same night, it started rebooting, then it shut off and wouldn't boot. It gave me a BIOS code, I shut it off to look up the code online. When I turned it on again, it won't boot at all. The LEDs all light up, the fan, HD, and optical all spin up, but the screen never lights up and it doesn't try to boot, nor does it blink any BIOS codes. It just acts like it's sleeping, and won't wake up. I suspected heat problems, so I disassembled it, cleaned the crap out of the fan, and reassembled it, breaking the stereo mic connector. Oh well. When I reassembled it, it booted up into Win7 again, but kept shutting down for no discernible reason. After a dozen or so random reboots like that, it is now back to where it was - turns on but doesn't boot or give BIOS codes. The screen never lights, and everything spins up then idles. Any ideas? I really can't afford to buy a new one and I use(d) it to take ALL my notes, that's why I got a tablet in the first place.

  • Nagios only create warning for a http service

    I would like to also monitor non-crucial services with nagios like for example our GitLab-server or phpMyAdmin instance. Is there any way to just create warnings instead of circuital errors for some services? At the moment I'm using the following: define service { host_name localhost use generic-service service_description HTTP GitLab check_command check_www!git.example.com!'/users/sign_in' } define command { command_name check_www command_line /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_http -H '$ARG1$' -I '$HOSTADDRESS$' -e 'HTTP/1.1 200 OK' -u '$ARG2$' }

  • Web service access fails when users password is in warning period

    - by uSlackr
    We have a number of locally installed .Net apps that communicate via web services. Authentication in IIS is handled by Windows Authentication so no additional login is required. We recently began seeing a problem where users are getting a application 403 error when there password is 14 days (or less) from expiring. As this sometime happens in the the middle of the day (login in the morning OK, but password reaches <14 days during the day), this comes as a surprise as they haven't been warned to change their password. Of course, one would expect they should be able to work until the password is expired. Any idea on what could be happening here? Why would IIS reject a login if the passsword hasn't actually expired? Can we change that behaviour? Thanks \\Greg

Also, also aren't SSDs much more immune to these types of failures? Everything seems to be working fine now, but I'm fearful of a looming failure.

  • Customising Exchange 2003 quota warning message

    - by dunxd
    I need to customise the default email users get when their Exchange 2003 mailbox reaches one of the limits. There are a lot of pages online on how to do this using a tool that was hosted at http://workspaces.gotdotnet.com/quotamsgsvc. However, this site has been discontinued, and Microsoft do not appear to have migrated this bit of code over. Does anyone know an alternative option, or where the QuotaMSGSvc might now be found?

  • SQL Server 2005 Replication Subscription Expiring Warning

    - by Aaron
    This week one of my replication subscriptions expired because I wasn't getting any alerts saying that there was a login error (I've fixed those alerts and the error). What I'd like now is, in the case that this happens again, to be able to send an alert saying that a subscription is about to expire (ie, it will expire in 1 or 2 days). I have an alert set up for when a subscription expires, but this is after the fact. I've looked through sys.messages for any text that has "Expir" in it, but I haven't found an appropriate error code yet. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks.

In debugging, I ran the following: print $res->headers_as_string; and in the output, I have the following line: Client-SSL-Warning: Peer certificate not verified Is there a way I can auto-accept this certificate, or is that not the problem? #!/usr/bin/perl use LWP::UserAgent; use Crypt::SSLeay::CTX; use Crypt::SSLeay::Conn; use Crypt::SSLeay::X509; use LWP::Simple qw(get); my $ua = LWP::UserAgent->new; my $req = HTTP::Request->new(GET => 'https://vzw-cat.sun4.lightsurf.net/vzwcampaignadmin/'); my $res = $ua->request($req); print $res->headers_as_string; output: Cache-Control: no-cache Connection: close Date: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 19:28:08 GMT Pragma: No-cache Server: Apache Content-Type: text/html Expires: Wed, 31 Dec 1969 16:00:00 PST Client-Date: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 19:28:09 GMT Client-Peer: 64.152.68.114:443 Client-Response-Num: 1 Client-SSL-Cert-Issuer: /O=VeriSign Trust Network/OU=VeriSign, Inc./OU=VeriSign International Server CA - Class 3/OU=www.verisign.com/CPS Incorp.by Ref.   • LoaderLock was detected, and turning off the warning does not help

    - by Scott M.
    I am trying to write an application that takes in sound from the default audio recording device on a computer. When running any code that accesses DirectX from my managed code i get this error: DLL 'C:\Windows\assembly\GAC\Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound\1.0.2902.0__31bf3856ad364e35\Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound.dll' is attempting managed execution inside OS Loader lock. Do not attempt to run managed code inside a DllMain or image initialization function since doing so can cause the application to hang. DevicesCollection coll = new DevicesCollection(); and Device d = new Device(DSoundHelper.DefaultCaptureDevice); and Capture c = new Capture(DSoundHelper.DefaultCaptureDevice); all cause the LoaderLock MDA to pop up and tell me there is a problem. I have scoured the internet (stackoverflow included) for solutions to this problem, but most people just say to turn off the warning, which does not work. When I turn off the warning, a generic ApplicationException is thrown, which is even less useful. I have seen the answers to this question as well, which didn't help because he said to remove the code that is causing the error. Others have said "fix your code." My questions are: how can I call any (preferably managed) DirectX code from C# without getting this error?

  • how to resolve this .Net 3.5 warning/error?

    - by 5YrsLaterDBA
    I have three machines. one installed VS2008 another two installed SDK6 and Framework3.5 (one of these two is a build machine). When I use MSBuild to build our application, all of them get this warning: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Microsoft.Common.targets : warning MSB3245: Could not resolve this reference. Could not locate the assembly "WPFToolkit, Version=3.5.40128.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35". Check to make sure the assembly exists on disk. If this reference is required by your code, you may get compilation errors. and the build machine comes with some errors: scsm\SCSM.cs(234,13): error CS1501: No overload for method 'Invoke' takes '1' arguments scsm\SCSM.cs(235,13): error CS1501: No overload for method 'Invoke' takes '1' arguments scsm\SCSM.cs(304,13): error CS1501: No overload for method 'Invoke' takes '1' arguments scsm\SCSM.cs(314,13): error CS1501: No overload for method 'Invoke' takes '1' arguments scsm\SCSM.cs(317,13): error CS1501: No overload for method 'Invoke' takes '1' arguments scsm\SCSM.cs(323,17): error CS1501: No overload for method 'Invoke' takes '1' arguments scsm\SCSM.cs(324,17): error CS1501: No overload for method 'Invoke' takes '1' arguments scsm\SCSM.cs(325,17): error CS1501: No overload for method 'Invoke' takes '1' arguments but other machines are passed without error. Resources are identical in those three machines. searched online but cannot find answer. Anybody here can help me resolve this? thanks
