  • Overlapping matches with finditer() in Python

    - by Raphink
Hi there, I'm using a regex to match Bible verse references in a text. The current regex is REF_REGEX = re.compile(r'(?<!\w)((?i)q(?:uote)?\s+)?((?:(?:[1-3]|I{1,3})\s*)?[A-Za-z]+)\.?(?:\s*(\d+)(?:[:.](\d+)(?:-(\d+))?)?)(?:\s+(?:(?i)(?:from\s+)|(?:in\s+)|(?P<lbrace>\())\s*(\w+)(?(lbrace)\)))?', re.UNICODE) This matches the following expressions fine: "jn 3:16": (None, 'jn', '3', '16', None, None, None), "matt. 18:21-22": (None, 'matt', '18', '21', '22', None, None), "q matt. 18:21-22": ('q ', 'matt', '18', '21', '22', None, None), "QuOTe jn 3:16": ('QuOTe ', 'jn', '3', '16', None, None, None), "q 1co13:1": ('q ', '1co', '13', '1', None, None, None), "q 1 co 13:1": ('q ', '1 co', '13', '1', None, None, None), "quote 1 co 13:1": ('quote ', '1 co', '13', '1', None, None, None), "quote 1co13:1": ('quote ', '1co', '13', '1', None, None, None), "jean 3:18 (PDV)": (None, 'jean', '3', '18', None, '(', 'PDV'), "quote malachie 1.1-2 fRom Colombe": ('quote ', 'malachie', '1', '1', '2', None, 'Colombe'), "quote malachie 1.1-2 In Colombe": ('quote ', 'malachie', '1', '1', '2', None, 'Colombe'), "cinq jn 3:16 (test)": (None, 'jn', '3', '16', None, '(', 'test'), "Q IIKings5.13-58 from wolof": ('Q ', 'IIKings', '5', '13', '58', None, 'wolof'), "This text is about lv5.4-6 in KJV only": (None, 'lv', '5', '4', '6', None, 'KJV'), but it fails to parse: "Found in 2 Cor. 5:18-21 ( Ministers": (None, '2 Cor', '5', '18', '21', None, None), because it returns (None, 'in', '2', None, None, None, None) instead. Is there a way to get finditer() to return all matches, even if they overlap, or is there a way to improve my regex so it matches this last bit properly? Thanks.

  • Select from mysql by day with different timezones (php)

    - by Adam
I'm storing leads in a database, and each lead has a datetime field with a PST timezone based date & time. I want my user to be able to display all leads from a certain date (e.g. today, yseterday), and choose the timezone. E.g. if I want to see all leads that were generated yesterday in EST timezone, I need to first convert (or read) all the datetime values to EST, and then only select those who are in the right range (yesterday). What would be the best way to do that?

  • PHP won't let page update automatically every day/6 hours

    - by Daniel
A friend build a ranking system on his site and I am trying to host in on mine via wordpress and godaddy. It updates for him but when I load it to my site, it works for 6 hours, but as soon as the reload is supposed to occur, it errors and I get a 500 timeout error. His page is at: http://www.jeremynoeljohnson.com/yakezieclub My page is currently at http://sweatingthebigstuff.com/yakezieclub but when you ?reload=1 it will give the error. Any idea why this might be happening? Any settings that I might need to change?

  • Problem with Gregorian Calendar hour of day in java

    - by Leanne C
hi, I'm using a Gregorian Calendar to set a specific date and time to an application using the set function of the Gregorian Calendar. When i use the getTime() method, it gives me the right output however when i try to access the Hour_Of_Day and Minute it gives a wrong number. Calendar time = new GregorianCalendar(); time.set(2010, Calendar.JANUARY, 1, 7, 20,0); hour = time.HOUR_OF_DAY; minute = time.MINUTE; The hour gives an output of 11 and the minute gives an a value of 12. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks

  • Any netbeans features that will make my day?

    - by Kris
Hi all, I've recently gotten quite fond of netbeans for my php work because of the XDebug integration. It has made me all but forget about textmate (which imho still beats netbeans for the little things) What do you think is the one awesome netbeans feature I should know about, and more importantly why and how do I use it? I'm asking this to optimize my skills in the use of the IDE and based on the idea that what works well for others might just work for me (and hopefully others).

  • Magento Set Grid to Filter Automatically by Current Day using Existing Datetime Column in Grid

    - by Tegan Snyder
In Magento I'm creating a custom module and would love to be able to filter automatically by the datetime column so that the intial grid listing shows only entities related to "todays" date. Here is my datetime column: $this->addColumn('ts', array( 'header' => $hlp->__('Activated'), 'align' => 'left', 'index' => 'ts', 'type' => 'datetime', 'width' => '160px', )); I'm think there should be a way for me to just add a filter to the collection like so: $now = Mage::getModel('core/date')->timestamp(time()); $dateTime = date('m/d/y h:i:s', $now); $collection = Mage::getModel('mymodule/items')->getCollection() ->addFieldToFilter('ts', $dateTime); But this doesn't work? Am I using the wrong filter? My "ts" field in the database is a "datetime" field, but the default magento "From: " - "To:" date range selectors don't use hours, minutes, seconds. Any ideas? Thanks, Tegan

  • Jasper Reports - Add one day to a Date Parameter

    - by Templar
I'm creating a Jasper report that includes the following parameters: DATESTART (Date) DATEEND (Date) These parameters indicate a date range for a field called DATECREATED (Timestamp) which includes times. I would like the date range to be INCLUSIVE, that is, if I filter for "Jan 1, 2009" to "Jan 31, 2009", any DATECREATED value on Jan 31, 2009 (such as "Jan 31, 2009 15:00") will be included in the report. When I used Crystal Reports in the past, I used the DATEADD function to create a filter expression like the following: {DATECREATED} >= {DATESTART} and {DATECREATED} < DATEADD("d", 1, {DATEEND}) (I realize that this isn't syntactically correct, but you get the idea.) Is there any way to do something similar in Jasper Reports?

  • The Implications of Modern Day Software Development Abstractions

    - by Andreas Grech
I am currently doing a dissertation about the implications or dangers that today's software development practices or teachings may have on the long term effects of programming. Just to make it clear: I am not attacking the use abstractions in programming. Every programmer knows that abstractions are the bases for modularity. What I want to investigate with this dissertation are the positive and negative effects abstractions can have in software development. As regards the positive, I am sure that I can find many sources that can confirm this. But what about the negative effects of abstractions? Do you have any stories to share that talk about when certain abstractions failed on you? The main concern is that many programmers today are programming against abstractions without having the faintest idea of what the abstraction is doing under-the-covers. This may very well lead to bugs and bad design. So, in you're opinion, how important is it that programmers actually know what is going below the abstractions? Taking a simple example from Joel's Back to Basics, C's strcat: void strcat( char* dest, char* src ) { while (*dest) dest++; while (*dest++ = *src++); } The above function hosts the issue that if you are doing string concatenation, the function is always starting from the beginning of the dest pointer to find the null terminator character, whereas if you write the function as follows, you will return a pointer to where the concatenated string is, which in turn allows you to pass this new pointer to the concatenation function as the *dest parameter: char* mystrcat( char* dest, char* src ) { while (*dest) dest++; while (*dest++ = *src++); return --dest; } Now this is obviously a very simple as regards abstractions, but it is the same concept I shall be investigating. Finally, what do you think about the issue that schools are preferring to teach Java instead of C and Lisp ? Can you please give your opinions and your says as regards this subject? Thank you for your time and I appreciate every comment.

  • Store time of the day in SQL

    - by nute
How would you store a time or time range in SQL? It won't be a datetime because it will just be let's say 4:30PM (not, January 3rd, 4:30pm). Those would be weekly, or daily meetings. The type of queries that I need are of course be for display, but also later will include complex queries such as avoiding conflicts in schedule. I'd rather pick the best datatype for that now. I'm using MS SQL Server Express 2005. Thanks! Nathan

  • Display relative time in hour, day, month and year

    - by JohnJohnGa
I wrote a function toBeautyString(epoch) : String which given a epoch, return a string which will display the relative time from now in hour and minute For instance: // epoch: 1346140800 -> Tue, 28 Aug 2012 05:00:00 GMT // and now: 1346313600 -> Thu, 30 Aug 2012 08:00:00 GMT toBeautyString(1346140800) -> "2 days and 3 hours ago" I want now to extend this function to month and year, so it will be able to print: 2 years, 1 month, 3 days and 1 hour ago Only with epoch without any external libraries. The purpose of this function is to give to the user a better way to visualize the time in the past. I found this: Calculating relative time but the granularity is not enough.

  • Ruby - Manipulating Time/DateTime by the Hour/Day?

    - by viatropos
Where can I find some examples on how to manipulate the time objects by days/hours/etc? I would like to do this: time.now_by_hour #=> "Tue Jun 15 23 MST 2010" time.now_by_day #=> ""Tue Jun 15 MST 2010" time.now_by_hour - 4.weeks - 3.days #=> "Sat May 15 MST 2010" What is the recommended order of operations? The reason for this is I would like to run through lists of times and sort them by date to the hour, not to the minute and second.

  • MySQL Query still executing after a day..?

    - by Matt Jarvis
Hi - I'm trying to isolate duplicates in a 500MB database and have tried two ways to do it. One creating a new table and grouping: CREATE TABLE test_table as SELECT * FROM items WHERE 1 GROUP BY title; But it's been running for an hour and in MySQL Admin it says the status is Locked. The other way I tried was to delete duplicates with this: DELETE bad_rows.* from items as bad_rows inner join ( select post_title, MIN(id) as min_id from items group by title having count(*) 1 ) as good_rows on good_rows.post_title = bad_rows.post_title; ..and this has been running for 24hours now, Admin telling me it's Sending data... Do you think either or these queries are actually still running? How can I find out if it's hung? (with Apple OS X 10.5.7)

  • Timespan not accepting day in MVC3

    - by middelpat
I have a MVC3 application in which i want to set a timespan to for example 2 days and 5 hours. when i enter 02:05:00:00 it gives me the following exception: System.OverflowException: SqlDbType.Time overflow. Value '2.05:00:00' is out of range. Must be between 00:00:00.0000000 and 23:59:59.9999999. When i enter 05:00:00 it correctly saves 5 hours into the database. according to MSDN timespan has a property for days. How do i correctly set the days? Model: public class ProductionTimeVM { [Required] public TimeSpan DefaultTime { get; set; } } In my view i just use: @Html.TextBoxFor(x => x.DefaultTime) For my controller: public ActionResult SaveProductionTime(ProductionTimeVM vm) { ProductionTime productionTime = new ProductionTime(); productionTime.Default = vm.DefaultTime; //some more code } Any idea's?

  • Database solution for 200million writes/day, monthly summarization queries

    - by sb
Hello. I'm looking for help deciding on which database system to use. (I've been googling and reading for the past few hours; it now seems worthwhile to ask for help from someone with firsthand knowledge.) I need to log around 200 million rows (or more) per 8 hour workday to a database, then perform weekly/monthly/yearly summary queries on that data. The summary queries would be for collecting data for things like billing statements, eg. "How many transactions of type A did each user run this month?" (could be more complex, but that's the general idea). I can spread the database amongst several machines, as necessary, but I don't think I can take old data offline. I'll definitely need to be able to query a month's worth of data, maybe a year. These queries would be for my own use, and wouldn't need to be generated in real-time for an end-user (they could run overnight, if needed). Does anyone have any suggestions as to which databases would be a good fit? P.S. Cassandra looks like it would have no problem handling the writes, but what about the huge monthly table scans? Is anyone familiar with Cassandra/Hadoop MapReduce performance?
