How to split the chance to display SWFs evenly among banner collection?

Hi all: I am working on The ausdcf.org to try adding several banner ads in swf format to the top. Everything starts to work, but I've got several questions that need your help: The client chose not to go with Google AdManager, but prefer a "minimal approach" to do this task. What I am trying to do is sort of "mimicking" the way Google AdManager does for banners, that is, to split the chance of each particular swf to be shown to the visitor evenly among the banner collection. Definitely I can add some jQuery code to do this from client-side, a random number generator and if-else statement would work - just $.load() it! However, what if I'd like to make sure those disabled Javascript (is there any now btw?) still be able to see different swfs in each visit. Any suggestion on how to approach this? How to integrate Python scripting in my Android App (like SL4A)

I need to add scripting layer to my android App. So I can remotely prepare a script that my app download form a web service and execute on the user device. I found a interesting project called Scripting Layer for Android (SL4A) here: http://code.google.com/p/android-scripting/ I'm not sure I can execute Python script without installing the PythonForAndroid_r4.apk first. I can't force my customer to install that application! So my question is, can the SL4A layer be integrated in my app without the need to install other apk? I need to execute actions like update data in the DB, create/read/delete a file on the sd card... Not so complex but I see SL4A can do a lot of things like these. Other scripting libraries? EDIT: Found also MVEL: http://mvel.codehaus.org/ but I think it needs to be integrated to execute complex operations like accessing a DB...

How to send HTML as GET-Request parameter?

I would like to send a html string with a GET request like this with Apaches HttpClient: http://sample.com/?html=<html><head>... This doesnt work at the moment, i think its an encoding problem. Do you have any ideas how to do that? method.setQueryString(new NameValuePair[] {new NameValuePair("report", "<html>....")}); client.executeMethod(method) This fails with org.apache.commons.httpclient.NoHttpResponseException: The server localhost failed to respond. If i replace "<html>" by "test.." it works fine. EDIT It seams to be a problem of URL length after encoding, the server doesnt except such long URls. Sending it as POST solves the problem.

Is JSONRequest a global Javascript object ?

My goal is to asynchronously call a URL via POST request (REST Webservice) to increment a statistic on one of my object. I am a newby web developper and I discovered JSON yesterday. Since JSON seems a lot popular and handy I went to www.json.org and discovered a JSONRequest object which seems to able one to send POST/GET request asynchronously but I can't get it work. Is it a global Javascript object or do I need to add some files ? I am a little bit confused since I've found a Firefox plugin extension for JSONRequest but I don't understand its purpose.

sIFR 3 - sifr-config.js possibly not running? Not sure what's wrong.

Hi, I've been messing with this for a few hours, and I just can't get the text to be replaced at all. I really can't believe it's taking so long, especially because I did this a few months ago and got it to work in minutes. Anyway, here is my site I'm working on: http://www.moreheadplanetarium.org/regeneration/test/vision.php and I want to replace the h1 tag (Morehead's Vision). I don't know what's wrong, since I've done everything I know to do. I'm jumping back into web design and using Firebug, and when I check the scripts it only has sifr.js and sifr-debug.js in the list, so I'm assuming the config isn't loading but I have no idea what could be the hold up... How do you get the debug to work btw? thanks!

Rejoin branching using jQuery formwizard?

jQuery formwizard (http://thecodemine.org/) allows you to branch a form wizard based on inputs. I am trying to figure out if it possible to rejoin the branches (and not just for the last step.) e.g. Based on the inputs to Step 1, I'd like to present the user with a different step 2. However, after step 2, the remaining steps (step 3, 4, 5, etc.) should all be the same. How can this be done? Thanks!

Why is my background image not displaying properly in IE7?

Strangely, the image displays in the other divs where it is used (since it's a sprite, I'm using that same image for #modal-top-border and #modal-btm-border). In all other browsers it displays properly, and even in IE8. I cannot seem to find what CSS rule (or lack thereof) I may be using that IE7 is choking on. Is there a way to specify java annotations in antlr grammar files?

I'm looking for a way to include a few additional strings in output .java files generated from antlr. Is there a comprehensive listing of available directives? For example, given parser output like this: package com.foo.bar; //<-- this can be generated with @header { .... } //antlr generated import org.antlr.runtime.*; ... //<-- is there a way to generate anything here? public class MyParser { //<--- or here? public void f1(){ ... } } Is there a way to generate strings that appear after the import statements (e.g. class-level annotations) or possibly method annotations?

Retrieving Gtk::Widget's relative position: get_allocate() doesn't work

I need to retrieve the position of a Gtk::Widget relative to its parent, a Gtk::Table. Most sources (e.g. http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk-faq/stable/x642.html) say that one needs to call Gtk::Widget::get_allocation(). However, the returned Gtk::Allocation object always contains x = -1, y = -1, width = 1, height = 1. I have to note that this happens before the Gtk::Table object is actually exposed and rendered. A call to show_all_children() or check_resize(), which I would expect to recalculate child widget geometry, doesn't help. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Expand <div> tag to bottom of page with CSS

Hi all, I know this question gets asked a lot because I have looked at many "solutions" trying to get this to work for me. I can get it to work if I hack up the html but I want to use all CSS. All I want is a header with two columns below it, and I want these three items to fill the entire page/screen, and I want to do it with CSS and without frames or tables. The XAMPP user interface looks exactly how I want my page to look, but again, I do not want to use frames. I cannot get the two orangeish colored columns to extend to the bottom of the screen. I do have it so it looks like the right column extends to the bottom of the screen just by changing the body background color to the same color as the background color of the right column, but I would like both columns to extend to the bottom so I didn't have to do that. c++ classes & lua

I want to have C++ objects that I can read/write in both C++ & Lua. I have looked at: http://www.lua.org/pil/28.html However, I do not like that solution, since my objects have constructors & destructors (and they are important as I use RAII and these take care of reference counts). What I don't like in the PIL solution is that the object is allocated in Lua's heap. What i want instead, is to create hte C++ object on my own, and just have lua have a way to do get/set on them. Does anyone have a good tutorial/link on this? Tanks!

Specifying Locations relative to the context XML in Spring

Is there a way to reference a properties file relative to the Spring's context file itself? In rails whats the best way to get the site that a user came from? I am getting conflicting info.

If i enter a url directly into the address bar of the browser, i get the following results: logger.debug ENV['HTTP_REFERER'] // => logger.debug request.referrer // => / So the first one gives me a blank result which is what I expected but the second gives me the root? Is this correct? It seems from the docs (http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActionController/AbstractRequest.html#M000478) that they should return the same thing. And secondly, why does it return the root, if there was no referrer.

Java Authenticator on a per connection basis?

I'm building an Eclipse plugin that talks to a REST interface which uses Basic Authentication. When the authentication fails I would like to popup my plugin's settings dialog and retry. Normally I could use the static Authenticator.setDefault() to setup an authenticator for all HttpURLConnection's for this, but since I am writing a plugin I don't want to overwrite Eclipse's default Authenticator (org.eclipse.ui.internal.net.auth); I thought of setting my custom Authenticator before loading and putting Eclipse's default back afterwards, but I imagine this will cause all sorts of race issues with multithreading so I quickly lost that notion. Google searches yield all sorts of results basically telling me it's not possible: The Java URLConnection API should have a setAuthenticator(Authenticator) method for making it easier to use this class in multi-threaded context where authentication is required. Source If applications contains few third party plugins and each plugin use its own Authenticator what we should do? Each invocation of "Authenticator.setDefault()" method rewrite previously defined Authenticator... Source Are there any different approaches that might help me overcome this issue?

Storyboard changing controller (modal) not working

I have problem with navigation between ViewControllers: here is my storyboard: http://postimg.org/image/dar9pkuvl/ The navigation between controllers in green rectangle works fine, I add to controller number 1 controller number 2 (by addtosubview) and then controllers number 3,4,5 to UIScrollView in controller number 2 ( controller number 2 contain scrollview). Everything work fine but if I click Send buttn on controller 4 nothing happens (It is strange because I was added connection between button and controller in the same way like between controllers 7 and 8). I know it is little bit confusing described, but I hope that someone tell me where is problem. Thanks

Installing Qt libraries on OS X

I'm trying to install the Qt 4.8.3 precompiled libraries downloaded from http://qt-project.org/downloads on my OS X 10.6 machine. Unfortunately the package doesn't seem to actually install any libraries (although it claims to do so in the readme) I've read loads of instructions of how to configure and build Qt from source but these are precompiled, as in 'you don't have to compile them yourself'. So I must be missing something. Is there anyone out there who knows how to actually install Qt on OS X so that it is possible to link against them -without- building the whole thing from source. Thanks
