I'm looking to pick up a used computer. It is a Phenom 955 + 4 gigs of ram + SLI 2x Radeon HD 4770.
How would this SLI combo compare to a single video card?
I just followed How to use Group Policy to remotely install software in Windows Server 2003 to try publishing a software (MSI file). I could follow all the steps, but the supposedly successfully published software does not appear on client/user machine's Add/Remove Programs.
Could some help figure why this may not be working.
Update:
On reading this question on Experts-Exchange, tried gpresults. Output extract follows:

When installing a single-server TFS 2010 installation into a Windows Server 2008 R2 installation on a domain, a user account is required for TFSREPORTS and WSSSERVICE (which share the same account by default). Is there any value in using a domain account or would a local account on that computer (not a built-in account) work just as well?
After installing Service Pack 3 I am getting this error "Generic Host Process For Win32 Services Encountered A Problem and needs to close.
When this message pops my computer just stuck and I can not even restart it normally.
The only fix of this problem is to un-install service pack 3 and run fix from Microsoft which is available for Service Pack 2.
Any help to fix this.
Thanks.

I recently installed a utitlity for Windows (ASUS Ai Charger) which modifies the USB ports on the computer to output more power (for charging iPads, etc). The problem is, I believe it is also giving more power to my keyboard and trackpad. And now, neither devices are working at all, yet they work on Mac OS X.
So does anyone know the amount of power MacBook Pro (2007) keyboards and trackpads use, and how I can set these settings in Windows 7?
XP SP3
I recently had to have Microsoft Office 2003 re-installed on my computer.
Suddenly I have duplicate contacts, while some contacts that were even more recently added are not accessible through the TO: area of email messages I want to send.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks.
Can any one of you please explain what is the exact powershell cmdlet for changing settings (Enabled or Disabled) in Gpedit.msc console...?
I need a exact query to link (Computer Configuration--Administrative Templates--System--User Profiles-- Do not forcefully unload the users registry at user logoff--'Enabled') in PowerShell.
Which means whenever we excutes the function it should Enable the mentioned setting from gpedit.msc console...
I'd like to record what I hear coming out of the main audio jack on my Mac. Nothing fancier than that. I'm aware of Audio Hijack Pro but that really does much more than I'm looking for and comes with a steep price tag. If it's the only tool that can do the job that's fine but I was hoping to find something that simply captured all audio coming from the computer and dumped it to a file.
Thanks in advance!
I am on a Mac and when I enter http://you/ in the location bar, it displays 'Apache is functioning normally' no matter which browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) I am using.
Is this normal? Or could it be that my computer is hacked in some way and is now acting as a server for the hackers?
EDIT:
I originally wanted to go to the youtube.com, but entered http://you/ by accident and found out this strange behavior.
I have a legitimate copy of Mac OS X. I want to install Ubuntu on my new AMD computer as my host OS, then install Mac OS X as the guest OS via VirtualBox.
Does anyone know if this will be an easy thing to do? Will I need some kind of hack job to get OS X working via VirtualBox?
...when logged into a Server via remote Desktop?
I see no way to Access Windows security. In "old" 2008 R2 there was a "Windows Security" entry in the start menu when coming via rdp.
In the new Metro Start Menu, the username context menu allows me to lock the Computer or log out - but not Change the Password.
Yes, I can go through user Management, but this is not something I want People to do ;)
How to configure non-admin users to allow them to install updates for Java and Adobe Acrobat Reader without needing for administrator password on Windows 7. Updates for Microsoft products install without problems.
This can be Active Directory (Windows 2003) solution, or computer based (employable through GPO or login script).
Title's pretty explanatory. I have an application(Second Life) that isn't compatible with 64-bit windows 7. It says that it is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7 but only the 32-bit version of 7. I need to know if it's possible for me to download something to make the application compatible with my computer. I've run troubleshooters and ran it as windows compatible XP service pack 2 and tried again with service pack 3.
I have a problem with drive cloning.

I have a number of secure emails sent to my Outlook 2007 client. Most arrive fine and display the prompt with regards to granting access to the certificate and then open. Today I received two that crash Outlook whenever I try to open them. I've tried restarting Outlook and my computer but still have the same problem.
Any ideas what might be causing this, and how I can fix it?
I'm working on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.
This question is related to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/54989/change-windows-hostname-from-command-line, but I'm in a different situation. The netdom tool will not work on a computer not joined to a domain. I've tried setting the hostname from the registry, but I was wondering if there was another way from the command-line.
I just installed windows 7 on dell 4600 desktop. the Audio card is a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2. I've look all over, and I can't find a driver for windows 7. I've also looked at Vista Drivers. It seems Dell is not supporting Windows 7 with this computer. I've got a work around, but would like a driver if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

When I run the command

I get several messages with this message:

The computer can see the internet and adding the proxy settings in the Network Preferences does not help. When I do a ifconfig Im on a 192 address which is not the usual subnet our PCs are on.

I have a web server in my home network and I'm using ZoneEdit for dynamic DNS. It's accessible perfectly to everyone outside of my local network, but since I switched to a Gateway 2Wire DSL modem/router I'm unable to use the domain to access the server from my network. I can access it via a local IP or by putting it in my Windows hosts file but this is annoying to do on every computer and for every subdomain.
Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks!
