  • Cheat implementation

    I have added an interface to input cheats, and of course the backend of this. Current cheats include: unlimited health unlimited time faster movement no need to use keys (i have a door/key system) triple firing lasers (normally there is only one) grenades (changes your weapon to grenades) But the question is, how will i tell the user the cheat codes? Normally cheats would be sold by the programmer, but this isn't that sort of game currently!

  • When attaching AI to a vehicle should I define all steps or try Line of Sight?

    This problem is related to an intersection simulation I am building for university. I will try to make it as general as possible. I am trying to assign AI to a vehicle using the JMonkeyEngine platform. AIGama_JmonkeyEngine explains that if you wish to create a car that follows a path you can define the path in steps. If there was no physics attached whatsoever then all you need to do is define the x,y,z values of where you want the object to appear in all subsequent steps. I am attaching the vehicleControl that implements jBullet. In this case the author mentions that I would need to define the steering and accelerating behaviors at each step. I was trying to use ghost controls that represented waypoints and when on colliding the car would decide what to do next like stopping at a red light. This didn't work so well.     I know basic stuff like, what are beans, jsp, servlet, jsf and how this stuff should work together. I know how to make basic jsp page with database query for example. Now I need to know what is the best path to learn all this stuff. My plan is to learn in this order: jsp (including persistance and JSTL) servlets + beans jsf The jump to frameworks (hibernate, struts, spring, etc) Also I'm not exactly sure about JSF, is it a must to make great pages or is it just a convenience to know?

  • What about Ubuntu 12.04 core updates every 6 months?

    Ubuntu 12.04 LTS is supported for 5 years, and will get some core updates for 2 years : I guess those updates include the kernel, graphic drivers and X11. But will these updates be optionnal, or not ? I would like to stick with my present version of the kernel and X11, because I'm using an AMD/ATI graphic card with fglrx driver, but according to this link, support for ATI HD 2000/3000/4000 cards will be dropped soon. Thanks !
