    Hi All, I am facing a weird problem in Testing server while using applet (using embed tag) in my ASP.NET MVC application Applet works fine locally in both browsers IE and Firefox but when deployed to Testing server its throwing below exception for Firefox only (IE works fine).   • Using git submodules in a git-svn project

    In our git-svn managed project, we have 3 upstream projects that are all kept in native git repositories on GitHub. Since the source code of those upstream projects is under our control and changes frequently, our current solution, namely re-deploying the build artifacts to the super-project everytime we change something is quite cumbersome. What I'd like to have is this: parent project (git-svn): --> submodule 1 (git) --> submodule 2 (git) --> submodule 3 (git) That way, the source code for submodules 1-3 is compiled along with the sources for the super project, but I can push changes to submodules separately. The question is: what happens when I git svn dcommit on the parent project? Does this even work? UPDATE Hm, I just set up a simple project structure, trying to resemble this scenario, and I receive this error message when trying to dcommit on the superproject: a0301b11f3544a1e71067ff270eded65e4c8afbd doesn't exist in the repository at /opt/local/libexec/git-core/git-svn line 4775 Failed to read object a0301b11f3544a1e71067ff270eded65e4c8afbd at /opt/local/libexec/git-core/git-svn line 574 Any ideas/suggestions?

    I've got a drop-down where the user selects a Country. It is a required "field". Next to it, there is a textfield named State. If the user selects US, then the field State is required. If the user selects e.g. Sweden, the State is not required, since Sweden has no states.   • What are the primitive Forth operators?

    I'm interested in implementing a Forth system, just so I can get some experience building a simple VM and runtime. When starting in Forth, one typically learns about the stack and its operators (DROP, DUP, SWAP, etc.) first, so it's natural to think of these as being among the primitive operators. But they're not. Each of them can be broken down into operators that directly manipulate memory and the stack pointers. Later one learns about store (!) and fetch (@) which can be used to implement DUP, SWAP, and so forth (ha!). So what are the primitive operators? Which ones must be implemented directly in the runtime environment from which all others can be built? I'm not interested in high-performance; I want something that I (and others) can learn from. Operator optimization can come later. (Yes, I'm aware that I can start with a Turing machine and go from there. That's a bit extreme.) Edit: What I'm aiming for is akin to bootstrapping an operating system or a new compiler. What do I need do implement, at minimum, so that I can construct the rest of the system out of those primitive building blocks? I won't implement this on bare hardware; as an educational exercise, I'd write my own minimal VM.

I am using following code code. i am try to load the xml data from server using NSAutoreleasepool to do the xml parsing in the background thread.     Hi, We have a strange situation where we loose a Stateless SessionBean in a Bean Pool in Weblogic 10.3.0 Since we only have one bean in the pool, this effectively hangs all incoming calls. We do not want more than one instance in the pool because of application restrictions. In the Weblogic admin console, we can see that there are 1 instance in the bean pool, 0 beans in use and 1 waiting incoming request. The question is, what can have caused the system to not send the request to the one obviously free bean instance? This happens after several hours and over 100000 incoming requests, and the same scenario worked fine in the old weblogic 8 environment.     There is an ongoing discussion on the security and trust working group for NHIN Direct regarding the IP-to-domain mapping problem that is created with traditional SSL. If an HISP (as defined by NHIN Direct) wants to host thousands of NHIN Direct "Health Domains" for providers, then it will an "artificially inflated cost" to have to purchase an IP for each of those domains. Because Apache and OpenSSL have recently released TLS with support for the SNI extension, it is possible to use SNI as a solution to this problem on the server side. However, if we decide that we will allow server implementations of the NHINDirect transport layer to support TLS+SNI, then we must require that all clients support SNI too. OpenSSL based clients should do this by default and one could always us stunnel to implement an TLS+SNI aware client to proxy if your given programming language SSL implementation does not support SNI. It appears that native Java applications using OpenJDK do not yet support SNI, but I cannot get a straight answer out of that project. I know that there are OpenSSL Java libraries available but I have no idea if that would be considered viable. Can you give me a "state of the art" summary of where TLS+SNI support is for Java clients? I need a Java implementers perspective on this.

  • Why calling Process.killProcess(Process.myPid()) is a bad idea?

    I've read some posts saying using this method is "not good", shouldn't been use, it's not the right way to "close" the application and it's not how android works... I understand and accept the fact that Android OS knows better then me when it's the right time to terminate the process, but I didn't heard yet a good explanation why it's wrong using the killProcess() method?. after all - it's part of the android API... what I do know is that calling this method while other threads doing in potential an important work (operations on files, writing to DB, HTTP requests, running services..) can be terminated in the middle, and it's clearly not good. also I know I can benefit from the fact that "re-open" the application will be faster, cause the system maybe still "holds" in memory state from last time been used, and killProcess() prevents that. beside this reason, in assumption I don't have such operations, and I don't care my application will load from scratch each run, there are other reasons why not using the killProcess() method? I know about finish() method to close an Activity, so don't write me about that please.. finish() is only for Activity. not to all application, and I think I know exactly why and when to use it... and another thing - I'm developing also games with the Unity3D framework, and exporting the project to android. when I decompiled the generated apk, I was very suprised to find out that the java source code created from unity - implementing Unity's - Application.quit() method, with Process.killProcess(Process.myPid()). Application.quit() is suppose to be the right way to close game according to Unity3d guides (is it really?? maybe I'm wrong, and missed something), so how it happens that the Unity's framework developers which doing a very good work as it seems implemented this in native android to killProcess()? anyway - I wish to have a "list of reasons" why not using the killProcess() method, so please write down your answer - if you have something interesting to say about that.     I'm in the process of building my first Safari extension--a very simple one--but I've run into a couple of problems. The extension boils down to a single, injected script that attempts to bypass the native feed handler and redirect to an http:// URI. My issues so far are twofold: The "whitelist" isn't working the way I'd expect. Since all feeds are shown under the "feed://" protocol, I've tried to capture that in the whitelist as "feed://*/*" (with nothing in the blacklist), but I end up in a request loop that I can't understand. If I set blacklist values of "http://*/*" and "https://*/*", everything works as expected. I can't figure out how to access my settings from my injected script. The script creates a beforeload event handler, but can't access my settings using the safari.extension.settings path indicated in the documentation. I haven't found anything in Apple's documentation to indicate that settings shouldn't be available from my script. Since extensions are such a new feature, even Google returns limited relevant results and most of those are from the official documentation. What am I missing? Thanks.

    Iam having a php file that sends text messages on mobile to all the users that i have in my database's particular table. Now the entries are like 2000 or so in number and this number will keep on increasing. On my page there is a small form that selects a list of the users to whom message is to be sent from a drop down and then user writes the text to be sent in a textarea and then on clicking the submit button php script stars sending the messages to mobile numbers. Now while trying to send messages my browser has shown gateway timeout error but the script kept on running and messages are sent to the mobiles but not once but 6 times. I checked my script my query and all the code is correct.This all happened coz of that gateway timeout. Now does this gateway timeout kepts the script running again and again till the browser is not closed?? is this was the reason that a single message was sent 6 times to mobile numbers?? I mean how can i escape my file from getting this gateway error so that one message is sent only one time to a number??

    So, I have a new project I am planning on taking, and needed to know what skills will be required to achieve this project. The project is to do intensive data collection in the field where they don't have internet access. As part of the data collection, images will be uploaded as part of the data collection which will have to be resized, etc. Once the data collection occurs, this data needs to be consolidated and reported on. I am thinking there are two ways of generating the report. 1. Into a PDF that can be designed. 2. Is there a way to generate an executable file (since the PDF will be huge due to multiple images, etc) and the executable file is navigation friendly with drop-downs etc. It might not be an executable file, but could be a web page or some way that this can be delivered to the client in a friendly professional way. The PDF will have to be generated somehow so that it can be printed as a hard copy. What languages and skill sets will I need to accomplish this project?

    Hi, I have tried a number of things to try and get Selenium to pick up an 'onchange' event from a drop down menu, none of which has worked. The offending HTML is: <select onchange="doOpperation(this.options[this.selectedIndex]); this.selectedIndex = 0;" name="opps_ondemand" id="opps_ondemand"> <option value="none" id="ondemand">Mark as...</option> <option cmd="blah1" value="add">Something</option> <option cmd="blah2" value="remove">None</option> </select> I have read that Selenium IDE doesn't record some on* events, and so it would be wise to use fireEvent(): $this->click("opps_ondemand"); $this->select("opps_ondemand", "label=Mark as..."); $this->click("//option[@value='add']"); sleep(3); $this->fireEvent("//select[@id='opps_ondemand']", "change"); However, this does not work (with or without the fireEvent). I have also tried using $this->fireEvent("locator", "click"); instead of $this->click("locator"); but this did nothing. Selenium does not complain about these locators not existing so I am assuming it can see the select/option elements fine. The problem seems to be the onChange event. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks.

If we have multiple accounts with outlook, we can see all the accounts in Account Drop Down if we click on Account Box. If we click on the particular email, a right mark will appear to that Email Account and a message can bee seen on the top of the Send button is "This message will be sent via [email protected]". So, I want to get these email accounts into a string and that particular email account (which has right mark) into another string. I got these 3 email accounts into a string. But, I am not getting the particular email account(which has the right mark when we send a new email).     Hi, I'm trying to call a thread on a button click (btn_more) but i cant get it right. The thread is to get some data and update the images. The problem i have is if i only update 4 or 5 images then it works fine. But if i load more than 5 images i will get a force close.     Hi guys, I'm currently building a dynamic menu bar(vertical and horizontal). in the default position its vertical. the user have the option to show the horizontal position and hide and vertical. I am currently doing that with javascript/ jquery. in order to keep the menu bar in the horizontal position i am keeping a count with a cookie. the problem is that when i use the click function in javascript i want to change the value of the cookie. i have no knowledge of how to do this. Upon tackling my first full-blown application, I realized how under-developed my knowledge of JavaScript actually is. jQuery has allowed me to rely on its framework so heavily that I rarely use any interesting functions, techniques, or whatever that are 'native' to the JavaScript language. For example: I have a basic understanding of what a closure is... but I am unsure where this technique can actually benefit me. Although as I understand it, that's what my jQuery plugins do with (function ($){//plugin code here})(jQuery). I've seen many posts/blogs/whatever about memory leaks and circular references which is concerning. I'm frustrated because I can wrap my head around the basic concepts of what these are just by reading the articles, but I'm finding that the deeper I go the more I don't understand. The vocabulary alone is burdensome. Let alone how to actually use these techniques/functions/language features. I am trying to figure out what I don't know I'm looking to gather any advice, techniques, articles, books, videos, snippets, examples, potential pitfalls... really anything you have regarding application development with JavaScript/jQuery.

  • decimal.TryParse() drops leading "1"

    Short and sweet version: On one machine out of around a hundred test machines decimal.TryParse() is converting "1.01" to 0.01 Okay, this is going to sound crazy but bare with me... We have a client applications that communicates with a webservice through JSON, and that service returns a decimal value as a string so we store it as a string in our model object: [DataMember(Name = "value")] public string Value { get; set; } When we display that value on screen it is formatted to a specific number of decimal places. So the process we use is string - decimal then decimal - string. The application is currently undergoing final testing and is running on more than 100 machines, where this all works fine. However on one machine if the decimal value has a leading '1' then it is replaced by a zero. I added simple logging to the code so it looks like this: Log("Original string value: {0}", value); decimal val; if (decimal.TryParse(value, out val)) { Log("Parsed decimal value: {0}", val); string output = val.ToString(format, CultureInfo.InvariantCulture.NumberFormat); Log("Formatted string value: {0}", output); return output; } On my machine - any every other client machine - the logfile output is: Original string value: 1.010000 Parsed decimal value: 1.010000 Formatted string value: 1.01 On the defective machine the output is: Original string value: 1.010000 Parsed decimal value: 0.010000 Formatted string value: 0.01 So it would appear that the decimal.TryParse method is at fault. Things we've tried: Uninstalling and reinstalling the client application Uninstalling and reinstalling .net 3.5 sp1 Comparing the defective machine's regional settings for numbers (using English (United Kingdom)) to those of a working machine - no differences. Has anyone seen anything like this or has any suggestions? I'm quickly running out of ideas... While I was typing this some more info came in: Passing a string value of "10000" to Convert.ToInt32() returns 0, so that also seems to drop the leading 1.

    Hi, banging my head here and thought that some one out there might be able to help. Have Tables below. Bucket( bucketId smallint (PK) name varchar(50) ) BucketUser( UserId varchar(10) (PK) bucketId smallint (PK) ) The composite key is not the problem thats ok I know how to get around this but I want my bucket class to contanin a IList of BucketUser. I read the online reference and thought that I had cracked it but havent.   • drew's autoSuggest plugin help with AJAX results not showing

    hey guys, i use drew's autoSuggest plugin for some time but up until now I have hard coded my data into my JS, I'm trying to see if I can use AJAX to return the JSON data and query data like that. I seem to have it working but no matter what I try I can't get the results to be shown in the drop down UL it creates via jquery. The JSON comes back as it should.
