Is there any tool or software to find passphrases in an image like .jpg? or Should i use any programming in this regard, i googled but din't find any guidance?
I recently watched a youtube video where a guy got a camera to recognize when a rubik's cube was held up to it, and it captured the 9 square color combination before snapping a picture of the cube and displaying the 3x3 grid on the screen of his computer. What kind of programming is this and where would I start reading to get into this sort of thing? specifically, controlling a camera, and getting it to pick out certain parts of an image and translate that data.
Hi,
Been trying to find a solution for this for a while with not much luck...
Need to render a form with an array of checkboxes each having an associated textbox.
given an array of array('Dave'=23,'Pete'=12,'Si'=43);
the resulting mark-up should yield:
<div>
<label><input type="checkbox" name="user_id[]" id="user_id-1" value="23" />Dave</label>
<label for="job-1">Job:</label><input type="text" name="job[]" id="job-1" />
</div>
<div>
<label><input type="checkbox" name="user_id[]" id="user_id-2" value="12" />Pete</label>
<label for="job-2">Job:</label><input type="text" name="job[]" id="job-2" />
</div>
<div>
<label><input type="checkbox" name="user_id[]" id="user_id-3" value="43" />Si</label>
<label for="job-3">Job:</label><input type="text" name="job[]" id="job-3" />
</div>
Complete zend noob so any help appreciuated (including decorators etc.)
Thanks peeps
it puts item1 down as DESC for some reason.
edit:
$sql_result = mysql_query("SELECT post, name, trip, Thread, sticky FROM (SELECT MIN(ID) AS min_id, MAX(ID) AS max_id, MAX(Date) AS max_date FROM test_posts GROUP BY Thread ) t_min_max INNER JOIN test_posts ON test_posts.ID = t_min_max.min_id WHERE Board=".$board." I've got to convert a not terribly complicated bespoke project management system from MsAccess Application to PHP/MySQL. I've been programming for donkey's years but embarrassingly know practically nothing about modern methodologies.
So the old 'learning curve' versus 'improved efficiency' conundrum rears its ugly head once again.
Although I've Googled up some stuff I don't want to prejudice your suggestions, where would you start, I'm at your mercy?
recently I found an interesting site that provides Internet fax services via internet
I am learning programming and I was inspired to make an application that could send faxes from my PC, any ideas or suggestions?
Were there any awesome C# tutorials you found that helped you learn it? Or any books that you thought were particularly successful? Any that should be avoided?
UPDATE: Tons of good answers, thank you all! To clarify the earlier question, hobbyist with only light programming experience previous. Working through online tutorials currently, probably going to pick up Head First C#.
Hi,
Im trying to find a way to plot a truss in matlab, i can do it by using an adjacancy matrix and the gplot function, but its very long winded approach especially if there are a lot of nodes connected to one another. Is there a faster way to do this?
I'm new to matlab and the programming world any help would be really appreciated.

I've got my interpreter up and running - quite bug-free and stable for now - now I want to add some visual options to my language to play around.
What is a good GUI library easy to use and mainly easy to embed and "link" to my programming language?
What general rules do I have to follow?
I'm currently on XP with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.
I hope this is still programming related, as SuperUser doesn't seem the appropriate place.
Basically I wonder if it is possible to have Applications that are internal to a company on the iPhone? That is something like a companion Application to an Intranet (when Safari and Mail just don't cut it) which wouldn't make sense on the AppStore (and likely wouldn't get approved anyway).
Is something like that possible (without Jailbreaking or doing anything else that Apple doesn't normally want)?
With alle the new paralell programming features in .NET 4.0, what would be a a simple and fast way to implement the producer-consumer pattern (where at least one thread is producing/enqueuing task items and another thread executes/dequeues these tasks). Can we benfit from all these new APIs? What is your preferred implementation of this pattern?

looking for other similar medical simulation software that have easier API for programming, better documentation and more active user interactive help forum.
the goal is to do virtual design. I want to design something that can simulate a pipe pumping with haptic devices, but I couldn't get Sofa to work with my phantom device in their UI, and I can't use their API to build my stuff either. it's hard to get things going with slow support.
thx for the help
I am trying to improve my programming skills by learning more about frameworks, methodologies, and related technologies. I have seen a lot of job postings with requirements that also include Linux and/or Apache. So, my question is, what sort of things should I study in terms of Linux from a development standpoint?
Hi,
Please anyone point me a best book for learning web server programming with servlets and jsp technology.It should contain introductions from the basics .
Thanks
Hi,
My team and I are programming a sort of Document Manager and the idea is to store them completely on DB.
Is there a protocol or Extensions that allows us to show a "Virtual Directory" or files that are really non existent (only in DB). How does Sharepoint do this?
I understand that Sharepoint uses WebDav but it implies that the files do exist physically somewhere.
We intend to develop this application on .NET 4.0 and deploy it on IIS.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
In the article "Teach Yourself Programming in Ten Years" Peter Norvig (Director of Research, Google) gives the following approximate timings for various operations on a typical 1GHz PC back in 2001:
execute single instruction = 1 nanosec = (1/1,000,000,000) sec
fetch word from L1 cache memory = 2 nanosec
fetch word from main memory = 10 nanosec
fetch word from consecutive disk location = 200 nanosec
fetch word from new disk location (seek) = 8,000,000 nanosec = 8 millisec
What would the corresponding timings be for your definition of a typical PC desktop anno 2010?
I have been doing Java, and C# for many years.
Starting on my first big Python program now.
I have written a few, very small, text processing scripts in Python years ago.
I would like to know what is the best, free, online Python tutorial for experienced programmers.
Python in general, but then also web programming with Python. Will be using Django.
Thanx much.
For now it has been around 4 years that I work as developer. Most of my team mates, from their tech-skill, programming ability and code practices view, are somewhere between junior and senior. In all my previous jobs, there was a real geek who was brilliant at coding/analyzing/lead, but the others were just 'average' programmers.
How would you rank your co-workers as good developers from rank 1 (best) - 5 (worst) ?
Hi
I'm a beginner in BlackBerry programming, I need to replace in my application the default menu (when you press the menu button) by a custom menu, horizontal. The best to describe is I want the same result as the WeatherEye application for BlackBerry...
I know how to create the default menu, but this one I have no idea!
Thank you,
i am new to WPF so maybe this will be "noob" question but i can't find answer to it (and it seems so easy)...
well i am programing WPF app and i want to use smth similar to css for webpages, so i found ResourceDictionary and tried to use it...
I have main window in which i create Frame and on click some UserControl is loaded to that same Frame.I include my ResourceDictionary (root/style/Styles.xaml) to my main window like this:
<Window.Resources>
<ResourceDictionary x:Key="styles" Source="style/Styles.xaml" />
</Window.Resources>
in which i have:
<ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml">
<Style x:Key="ProductsRequired" TargetType="{x:Type Label}">
<Setter Property="Height" Value="28" />
...
I don't use it on my main window but want to use it on my UserControls, which are loaded to that main window and i try to use it like this:
<Label Name="product1" Style="{DynamicResource ProductsRequired}" />
Warning i am getting all the time is: The resource "ProductsRequired" could not be resolved.
I even tried including Styles to my UserControl
<UserControl.Resources>
<ResourceDictionary x:Key="styles" Source="../style/Styles.xaml" />
</UserControl.Resources>
and nothing happens...
Well my question is long but i wanted to be clear... :)
P.S. all that logic works in C# code btw
private ResourceDictionary myStyles = new ResourceDictionary();
Style ProductsRequired = myStyles["ProductsRequired"] as Style;
product1.Style = ProductsRequired;
I'm searching for articles that will make me a generally better programmer. I code in Python but combine it with Postgres and JS quite a lot if that helps. I'm currently reading Dive into python3 but I fear it won't last me much longer and would really like to expand my programming ability.
Does anyone have any good recommendations?
Hi there ,
i always asked myself. Why are there so many DB management systems?
I am not an DB expert and i never thought about using another DB than mysql.
Programming languages offer different paradigms, so there it makes sense to choose a specific language for your purpose.
What are factors to choose a specific DB management system ?
