• .htaccess - Block all referrers but one

  I am currently running a file sharing website where all files are stored remotely, they are hot linked on the download buttons (on the main site). The current .htaccess force downloads all files, images etc. <FilesMatch "\.(?i:doc|odf|pdf|rtf|txt|png|jpg|jpeg|mp3|mp4|wav|wmv|gif|bmp|avi|mts)$"> Header set Content-Disposition attachment </FilesMatch> What i am trying to do is make sure people cannot hot link the files. So i was thinking, is there a was i can block all other referrers to the domain that stores the files (it's an IP) apart from the main website (a domain). Thanks!

• problem linking vba modules in MS Access 2007

  I am upgrading a database system from Access 2000 db to Access 2007, which communicates with several chemistry measuring devices(pH meter, scale, etc) via an RS 232 serial port. The first db consists of several modules containing vba code that enables the communications with the ports, as well as supports the code behind the forms in the second db. The user, or lab tech, navigates through the forms in the second db to interact with the lab devices, and also to generate the reports which display the info. from the devices. The reports are also part of the second db. The code works in Access 2000, but once I convert it to 2007, the code in the second db cannot find the function calls in the first db that dictate the progression from screen to screen. I have tried importing the modules into the second db, and I have tried linking them, but it still doesn't work. The error message is #438: "Object doesn't support this property or method." Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here is the code for the first function that is not being called correctly: Description: ' This routine is used to return to the calling form and close the active form.   What is common practice for coding web applications where part of the site has to be secured (e.g. checkout section) and part not necessarily, lets say homepage. As far as I know sharing sessions in between http and https parts of the site is not easily possible (or is it?). What would be common approach if I wanted to display on http page like homepage, shopping cart data (items) that users ordered on https pages? How those two parts of the site would communicate if necessary? Also isn't it security flaw in popular shopping carts as it seems that many of these have only checkout pages secured (ssl) and the rest not? I'm using php if it makes any difference.

• Does all the network card use the same frequency to send signals to wire?

  Hi, I am comparing my cable TV wire to my network wire. In a TV cable wire, different frequencies are used by different TV channels. And since a certain channel use a fixed frequency, I think the only left way to represent different signal is with the carrier wave's amplitude. But what about the network wire? For all the network card with the same type, do they also use different frequencies to send signals just like TV cable? I vaguely remember that they use frequency adjustment to represent signals. So the frequency should not be a fixed one. So how did all the network cards that sharing the same medium differentiate their own signal from others?

• Can I use meteor for this?

  I'm looking for a way to create an app which has a realtime web interface as well as an API which can be called by a node.js client while sharing most of its code. I'd like to be able to manage data, monitor and execute tasks inside of my app via browser, but also have an automation/scheduling program which connects to my web app and tells it to run various tasks and get results of each task. Unfortunately it doesn't look like I can connect to Meteor from the server, so I'm wondering if there's another approach? Is what I described even possible using Meteor? I have done some testing using socket.io and I think I may be able to do it this way, but Meteor seems like it'd be really great for the realtime user interface.

  I am trying to create a Registration app with JSON to connect and post to MYSQL database. I created the following IF/ELSE statements to check for vacant input boxes, password match, and correct email characters before allowing it to be entered into the DATABASE. The code continues to execute the JSON posting even after the passwords don't match , invalid email characters are entered , and vacant text boxes are submitted. • How do I get this linearlayout working on android?

  I'm trying to create a scrollview that contains a linearlayout with some options inside of it. I'd like for the options to show up at the top and grow downwards, and to have "save," "delete," and "cancel" buttons which show up at the very bottom of the screen (if there is space left in between the bottom of all the options and the top of the buttons). Here's a screenshot of my attempt: http: //img375.imageshack.us/img375/3628/10370572.png (StackOverflow was only letting me post a single link so you'll have to get rid of the space in between http: and the rest) As you can see, the buttons show up directly below the options rather than at the bottom of the screen. In fact the top level (green) linearlayout doesn't even extend all the way down, despite having a height of fill_parent and a weight of 1 (and the blue is the scrollview, so there is room to expand). I've tried every possible combination of heights, weights, gravities, and anything else to get this working and still can't do it. Everytime I pasted my xml layout into here, the top and bottom portions got cut off, so instead I pasted it here: pastey link Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong?

• Web page for IPhone - Large fonts instead of scrolling?

  I'm planning the layout of my web page, which should also be usable on the IPhone. I don't really have much experience with the IPhone yet - I just installed the IPhone Simulator on my Mac. The page's contents are flexible, so I think it would be better to use this flexibility to avoid that the user has to scroll around the entire page. Especially I have A header and a sidebar that will be used all the time to perform several actions. A main content area with a number of elements (e.g. images). The UI would stay usable pretty well, if the number of elements shown at one time is reduced for a small screen (e.g. by JavaScript). It would also be okay to make the main content area scrollable (as opposed to the entire page). The problem: If I simply display the page on the IPhone, it uses an extremely small font size, so that users must zoom in first, and then scroll around - so that they can't see the header and sidebar all the time. What's the best way to deal with this situation? Just leave it this way (very small fonts), because users expect that behaviour on the IPhone? Increase the font size (by specifying it in em or px or with xx-large, or what would be the best way?), if I detect - somehow - that it's being displayed on the IPhone. Or is there some way to restrict the viewport size to the screen size, and make it zoom in automatically? I think that would be the easiest solution in my case. Or ...?

• tk: how to invoke it just to display something, and return to the main program?

  Sorry for the noob question but I really don't understand this. I'm using python / tkinter and I want to display something (say, a canvas with a few shapes on it), and keep it displayed until the program quits. I understand that no widgets would be displayed until I call tkinter.tk.mainloop(). However, if I call tkinter.tk.mainloop(), I won't be able to do anything else until the user closes the main window. I don't need to monitor any user input events, just display some stuff. What's a good way to do this without giving up control to mainloop? • can I debug my web proejct and wcf project on same vs 2008 instance ?

  I have two projects in my solution 1- asp.net web project. 2- wcf serivce project. 3- other common projects between two listed above Currently on the local dev machine I have to run two visual studio instance to run both projects in debug mode. That makes the system run out of resources as these projects share some other project in the soultion which are heavy in files. Is there a way I can hookup the wcf project on a sinlge visual stodio instance that I am using to debug the asp.net web applicaiton. I do not want to combine the web and wcf project in to one. • Setting up padding for websites in mobile devices

  I had finished this website a while ago but something happened to it and I've now spent all day fixing it and getting it back from scratch as my backup wasn't correctly done. I don't quite understand what it's doing as I've done this technique on many other websites with no troubles, maybe I've looked at this website too long? Here is the website. I'm wanting to put some space on the left and right hand side, however I dont just have one container as I was needing the dark grey bar at 100% of the screen and always under the banner no matter where it was. So there are 4 "containing" divs that I want to have the space. I've placed soem CSS3 media queries in but now I'm getting a gap to the right. I was thinking it was because my background mages are going all the way across but they set at 100% so I'm just not understanding whats going on. It's somethign simple, I'm not seeing it right now..   We have two websites which only diference is in the design (Diferent images, styles, layouts..etc) but the web structure of files and cs code is the same so we want to simplify its manteinance... The actual structure would be: DefaultA.aspx DefaultA.aspx.cs DefaultB.aspx DefaultB.aspx.cs LoginA.aspx LoginA.aspx.cs LoginB.aspx LoginB.aspx.cs One idea would be changing the design differencies at runtime depending of the origin website, but we dont like much this because performance, abstraction in designing them and url confusion... Another one is sharing the cs (both aspx inheriting and using the same cs) file but we never have done or seen it done in any website before so we wonder if its a good aproach... What do you think? Any other way better in terms of performance vs development-ease?

My problem is that the applicationDidFinishLoading method I've overridden in MyAppDelegate_iPad is never called (break point on the first line never hits). The method looks like this -(void) applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { window = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]]; if(!window) { [self release]; return; } window.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; rootController = [[MyViewController alloc] init]; [window addSubview:rootController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [window layoutSubviews]; } I removed the line to link to a nib file from my plist file (I used to get the default "My Universal app on iPad" white screen) and now all that is displayed is a black screen. applicationDidFinishLoading is still not being called. • Java side scrolling game on android

  I'm trying to make an easy side scrolling game just to learn the ropes of game programming on android. I came up with a solution of how to make it but I don't really think it is the most elegant solution. I wanted to get some different ideas on how to implement my game, as I really have no other solution right now. Here is a quick explanation of how it works.. I basically have blocks or objects fall from the top of the screen. The blocks are defined from a pre-defined string I create using a custom 'map-editor'. I create all the blocks at compile time, position them on or off the screen and simply increment their coordinates with each iteration of the gameloop. It is actually done a little bit better then that, but that gives a short easy explanation on the basic idea. I heard from a few people that instead of incrementing each block position, have the blocks stay there and simply change the viewable area. That makes sense, but I have no idea how to do it. Can anyone share some ideas or links on how I can implement something like this? I know my current solution isn't the greatest. Thanks!

  I'm trying to draw two sprites on the same screen. I have defined the two sprite objects in two separate class files. If I comment out two lines (see "item 1" comment below) then I get a display as [a backgroundimage[background2.jpg] with a sprite[grossini.png] on the left side. If I uncomment the two lines I do not get the background image and sprite of (gameScreen.m). I get only the sprite [grossinis_sister1.png] defined in (enemy.m). But what I need is a [backgroundimage[background2.jpg]], sprite[grossini.png] and sprite [grossinis_sister1.png] in one screen. • How to make div follow scrolling smoothly with jQuery?

  Hello I'm creating a blog layout, which has an sidebar. In sidebar there are sections/boxes, but the last one of these boxes should follow scrolling when none of the other boxes are visible. So, when user scrolls down, he sees a normal sidebar, but when user has went down enough, sidebar ends but the last box starts to follow on the top of the screen. I have seen this a lot on different kind of sites. So hard to explain with my english. I already made it to follow screen smoothly with animate() but couldn't get it like this. Hope you understood. I already tried in Google for almost an hour but couldn't figure out any keywords (due to my bad english).   One of the useful things about S3 for content storage is that a client can directly make a direct HTTP request to download the object. For instance, this is how Twitter serve up avatar images. SimpleDB provides an HTTP interface to data. Rather than having to write a proxy that sits inbetween SimpleDB and the client, is it possible for client software (i.e. desktop, mobile) to make calls to read values from a SimpleDB domain, without sharing credentials that shouldn't be shared? Or is a proxy in-between the only way to go?

That is, content creators will be able to sell content through our site and we take a small percentage of the revenue. Can anyone recommend an online payment service that supports this model? We're also interested in: Accept all major credit cards Being able to do international transactions in the appropriate local currency Recurring transactions (monthly, yearly, etc.) Additionally, if the service provided a Java API for integration or the ability to broker PayPal transactions that would be an added bonus. I know Amazon provides a hosted payment service, but I'd prefer not to require all of our customers to have an Amazon account. That provides an additional barrier to entry that we'd prefer to avoid. • Active State Image Display

  I have some images that need to change, based not only on hover, but also on active state. If you look at the page here: http://site427.mysite4now.net/tazthedog/site1/ There are some tabs with Screen Printing Quick Links, etc. The tab image is associated with the link and displays properly. The icon in tabs defaults to the gray and turns blue on mouse over, however, I also need it to be blue on the "active" state. • iPhone -trouble with a loading data from webservice into a tableview

  I am using a Window based application and then loading up my initial navigationview based controller. After loading it if the user is not registered/ does not have a credentials present then it takes the user to a login view controller . loginViewController *sampleView = [[loginViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"loginViewController" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController presentModalViewController:sampleView animated:YES]; [sampleView release]; then right after that i try to load the table with data that i get from a webservice using asiHTTP .. for this question lets say it takes 3 seconds time to get the data and then deserialize it . now... my question is it works out okey in the later runs as I store the username and password in a seure location... but in the first instance.... i am not able to get the data to laod to the tableview... I have tried a lot of things... 1. Initially the data fetch methods was in a diffrent methods.. so i thought that might be the problem as then moved it the same place as the tbleviewController(navigationController) 2. I event put in the Reload data at the end of the functionality for the data parsing and deserialization... nothing happens. 3. i did not understand the concept of @property and alll.... 4. The screen is black screen with nothing displayed on it for a good 5 seconds in the consecutive launches of the app.... so could we have something like a MBPorgressHUD implemented for the same. could any one please help for these scenarios and guidance as to what paths to take from here...

• java setting resolution and print size for an Image

  I wrote a program that generates a BufferedImage to be displayed on the screen and then printed. Part of the image includes grid lines that are 1 pixel wide. That is, the line is 1 pixel, with about 10 pixels between lines. Because of screen resolution, the image is displayed much bigger than that, with several pixels for each line. I'd like to draw it smaller, but when I scale the image (either by using Image.getScaledInstance or Graphics2D.scale), I lose significant amounts of detail. I'd like to print the image as well, and am dealing with the same problem. In that case, I am using this code to set the resolution: HashPrintRequestAttributeSet set = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet(); PrinterResolution pr = new PrinterResolution(250, 250, ResolutionSyntax.DPI); set.add(pr); job.print(set); which works to make the image smaller without losing detail. But the problem is that the image is cut off at the same boundary as if I hadn't set the resolution. I'm also confused because I expected a larger number of DPI to make a smaller image, but it's working the other way. I'm using java 1.6 on Windows 7 with eclipse.

• Post parameters to a frame of new window

  I have to modify an existing web search page. There is a page, where all the search filters are (form with name "searchform"). When the search button is pressed, results are shown in new window. Because the search takes up to 30 seconds, and while searching the window stays blank, I have to add a label "Searching. Please wait..." at the new created window with the results. So the search window is created, and I set it's location to a frameset. First frame will show the label, and the second will show the results. But i can't manage to update the second frame with the results. • CustomError not working properly

  Hello friends, I am using following setting for customError. < customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="GenericErrorPage.aspx" < error statusCode="403" redirect="NoAccess.aspx" / < error statusCode="404" redirect="FileNotFound.aspx" / < /customErrors I have a folder "Admin" having access to administrators role. When someone other than administrators tries to access the pages inside admin folder, it is redirected to login page. My expectation is to display "NoAccess.aspx". Whats wrong with this code? Or is there other meaning to statusCode=403. Could someone provide help on this. Thanks for sharing your valuable time.

• Changing dalvik/libcore causes rebuilding the whole framework

  I'm adding some interception routines to Dalvik libcore methods (e.g. file open method in libcore/luni/src/main/java/org/apache/harmony/luni/platform/OSFileSystem.java), which I think only changes basic sharing libraries. But to my surprise, every time I run make after modifications, it rebuilds nearly everything of the framework, such as Calculator application, W3C DOM parser, etc. It really takes time to build the framework after a small modification. I'm wondering if it is possible to reduce number of rebuilt components after modifying dalvik libcore? Thanks.
