• Accessing a file on a network drive

  Hello. Background: I have an application that has to read from files on a network drive (Z:) This works great in my office domain, however it does not work on site (in a different domain). As far as I can tell the domain users and network drives are set in the same way, however I do not have access to users etc in the customers domain. When I couldn't access the network drive I figured I needed a token for a user. • jQuery / javascript and nested if statements

  I have a multi-lingual page where I want to display form validation error in the user's language. I use a hidden input to determine which language version the user is browsing like this: <input type="hidden" name="lang" id="lang" value="<?php echo $lang; ?>" /> The PHP side of the script works, but jQuery doesn't seem to realize which language is passed on. It displays the English error message no matter on which language site I am. Alternatively, if your code is only ever going to run against mysql, you may enable query buffering by setting the PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_USE_BUFFERED_QUERY attribute. What can I do to avoid this? Should I change all and search a different way to get this kind of queries?

  Hi, I'm trying to evaluate whether Flex can access binary sockets. Seems that there's a class calles Socket (flex.net package). The requirement is that Flex will connect to a server serving binary data. It will then subscribe to data and receive the feed which it will interpret and display as a chart. I've never worked with Flex, my experience lies with Java, so everything is new to me. So I'm trying to quickly set something simple up. The Java server expects the following: DataInputStream in = ..... byte cmd = in.readByte(); int size = in.readByte(); byte[] buf = new byte[size]; in.readFully(buf); ... do some stuff and send binary data in something like out.writeByte(1); out.writeInt(10000); ... etc... Flex, needs to connect to a localhost:6666 do the handshake and read data. So the question is, am I approaching whole streaming data issue wrong when it comes to Flex? Am I sending the policy file wrong? Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a good solid example of how to do it. It seems to me that Flex can do binary Client-Server application, but I personally lack some basic knowledge when doing it.   I have a swf hosted at domain A, and I have a html at domain B My swf is able to be loaded from accessing the html at domain B. However, the swf gets a SecurityError: Error #2060: Security sandbox violation: ExternalInterface caller http://domainA.com/TrialApp.swf cannot access http://DomainB.com/. The as3 is just the below: ExternalInterface.call("javascript:_invite();"); I've also loaded the crossdomain policy file from Domain B during initialization. • How to Filter more than one field using WPF AutoCompleteBox

  i am trying to customize the suggestions on the AutoCompleteBox in the WPF Tool kit. Right now i have a last name field which when the user enters characters a query runs that retrieves the top 10 records based on that last name. i would also like to filter by first name, i tried splitting out the comma and searching by the last name and the characters entered in the first name. however, as soon as a space or comma is entered into the autocompletebox, the suggest functionality stops working, which I believe is because the ValueMemberPath property is set to be last name. Is there a work around for this, or a way to modify the ValueMemberPath to handle multiple values? Thanks!

• Getting RPXNow and Facebook Open Graph to Play Nicely

  A requirement to use the RPXNow is to set your Facebook application's connect url to http://mydomain.rpxnow.com. I was just trying to implement Facebook's Open Graph and I see that it tells you to set the Base Domain to the domain that will contain the app_id. However, Facebook does not allow these two domains to look different. When I try to set the base url to mydomain.com, I get this error: Validation failed. Base Domain is not valid. Connect URL must be derived from your Base Domain. Should I create two apps - one for use with RPXNow, and another for use with Open Graph? If not, what should I do? Thanks

  Hi I've been stuck on this problem for a while and would appreciate your help. I'm writing an API to allow an external source like a Browser Query String or a smartphone to enter some model User info in a form and hit the User create action to write the data to the db. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong with the code below. I've also observed that if I have code like @user = User.new(params[:user]), that this approach only works when a user enters their data within the form. And that if I have code such as @user = User.new( name: params[:name], location: params[:location], password = params[:password], email: params[:email]), that this code ONLY works for a Query string entry, but NOT both Query string AND regular form submission. Why is that and how can I write the code above in the Users Controller Create action, so that it takes care of both situations? URL used: localhost:3000/users/create?name=John&&[email protected]&&password=secret&&location=SanFrancisco&date=06122012 The date is of type string but it doesn't show up in the database. Why? Everything else does. Should I use getServletContext().getResourceAsStream(?) for this purpose or the <name-of-known-class>.getResourseAsStream(?), and what path do I need to specify there?
